I am selling my wifes Acura CL,  it is a 2003 model, Type S.  It has the automatic transmission with the option to select stick and shift it yourself. She never did,  I tried it, the car is fast without it. She purchased the car brand new from an Acura dealer here in NJ.  Had the windows etched for security.  It did have at one time a small XM receiver in it.  That is what the wires are and the small mounting bracket is in the interior pics.  I am sure it is easy to remove but I do not want to mess with it. The mileage is about average for a 10 plus year old car and alot of it was  on the Parkway. The car has heated leather seats, electric sunroof,  all of the things that Acura's are known for.  The car has been problem free for all of the time we owned it except for the HID headlight ballasts. They both went bad at different times and both have been replaced with Acura ballasts.  They are alot of $$.

The car has not had the timing belt service yet, it will need tires in the next 10k miles or so, and there are the usual small scratches and nicks on the exterior that most 10+ year old cars have.  It has never been hit or in an accident.   As I hope the pictures show,  the passenger seat and the rear seat have really never had any use at all.  Both seats are of course electric with heat.

Email me with any questions you may have.  If you have a serious offer that is close to my buy it now price, let me know and I will consider it.  Please, no low ball stuff, I don't need to get rid of it. I have already purchase another car for wife, this is just extra.

FYI,   I just had a car shipped up from Florida to NJ and it was around $500.00, door to door.  This will give you an idea of shipping costs.  There are alot of good shippers out there so don't worry about how far you are away from NJ,  it is a small world......

IIHS says these are the safest cars of 2013

Wed, 02 Jan 2013

The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has revealed its annual list of Top Safety Picks, an award that highlights automobiles it says offer "superior crash protection." A new and still more significant award, the Top Safety Pick+ honor, is given to those vehicles that earn good ratings for occupant protection in four out of five areas of measure. And while some 117 vehicles were given the TSP seal of approval for 2013, just 13 passed muster for TSP+.
To be fair, IIHS only evaluated 29 vehicles with its new testing procedures for TSP+ (we'd expect that the number of qualified cars will rise substantially for 2014). Luxury and Near Luxury midsize cars were the first groups evaluated, followed by midsizers in the Moderately Priced Cars category - unsurprisingly, it's only midsize cars that you'll find among the class this year.
Only two luxury sedans made the list of 13 for 2013: the Acura TL and Volvo S60. The other 11 cars on the list included entries from domestic, Japanese and German car makers: Dodge Avenger, Chrysler 200, Ford Fusion, Honda Accord (sedan and coupe), Kia Optima (but not its close kin, the Hyundai Sonata, strangely), Nissan Altima, Subaru Legacy and Outback, Suzuki Kizashi and the Volkswagen Passat all made the grade.

Honda exec says US market near capacity, could hurt subprime buyers

Thu, 21 Aug 2014

Is there a point in the US auto industry where companies should start considering the welfare of their customers ahead of selling more cars? American Honda Executive Vice President of Sales John Mendel thinks that level exists, and we may be getting very close to it.
According to Automotive News, Mendel believes that finding more customers in the market could require pursuing subprime buyers and offering longer-term loans. However, he refuses to use those tactics. While selling models this way can improve things briefly, the strategies hurt resale prices and lower vehicle profits over time. The company won't do "stupid things in the short-term that damage the person who bought yesterday," he said to Automotive News. "It's a very, very short-term tactic especially in the subprime area."
American Honda, which combines the Acura and Honda brands, has seen market share decline from 9.7 percent to 9.1 percent through July 2014, according to Automotive News, and Autoblog's By the Numbers stats showed it posted falling sales in five of the seven months with data this year. Though, Mendel claims that was partially because the company focused on retail sales over fleets. The delays of the launches for the Honda Fit and Acura TLX likely didn't help either.

Acura NSX prototype gets back on track

Thu, 30 Oct 2014

Developing a new vehicle is not without its complications, we're sure, but usually things follow a fairly predictable progression: you develop a prototype, you test it, test it and test it again, then you put it into production. What you don't expect is that your prototype will burn to the ground, but that's what famously happened to the NSX which Honda engineers were testing a few months ago.
Fortunately, the Acura NSX prototype is back on track, both literally and figuratively, as you can see from this latest batch of spy shots snapped at the Nürburgring. This camouflaged prototype looks pretty much the same as the last one, only, you know... less crispy. Which is to say, it looks pretty much ready to hit showrooms.
The naysayers may point out that Honda chose colder and damper weather to put the NSX back into testing - thereby mitigating the risk of another fire - but we're sure the Japanese automaker has been working hard to fix the flammability issues, whatever may have caused them, over the past few months. At least, we hope they have.
