Up for sale is my custom wide body DA project. I bought it as a project car but then my daily driver broke down and I need the money to buy a new one for winter. The car does run and drive and it made the 2 hour trip back to my house after I bought it without any problems but it does need some work before it should be daily driven. I honestly don't know all that much about the car as I haven't had it for very long. The car is being sold as-is and below is everything I know about it. If you have any questions I would be glad to try and answer them as best as I can.

Good:

*Full custom wide body kit

*R32 Skyline tail light conversion

*VIS Invader carbon fiber hood

*Aftermarket 1 piece headlights

*Aftermarket spoiler

*Full B16 Vtec Swap

*235k on the shell with around 70k on the B16 swap

*Cold air intake

*AEM fuel pressure regulator

*Oil pressure and air/fuel pillar gauges

*Aftermarket exhaust

*Drilled and slotted rotors on the front

*Short throw shifter

*Greddy shift knob

*Lowered

*Aftermarket e-brake handle

*Power sunroof

*Radiator fan is wired to a toggle switch

*Old school aftermarket cassette deck (Wait is this good?)

The not so good:

*5th gear is out and 4th grinds a bit, but I have a brand new rebuilt ls transmission that goes with it

*The shift linkage needs to be replaced

*It has a small coolant leak

*The idle is set really low and I never got around to adjusting it

*Rip in the drivers seat

*It needs some general body work. The paint job on it doesn't look professional, the side skirts need to be reattached, and some other pieces of the body kit are a little loose

*Steelies, but the tires are almost new

*Still has the ls cluster so it doesn't show the 8200 rpm redline

*Speedo cable is disconnected

*Temp gauge doesn't always work

MotorWeek remembers retro icons, Supra and NSX

Thu, 16 Oct 2014

It's easy to poke a joke here and there about John Davis, the long-time host of MotorWeek. His voice is so monotonous that, from time to time, if you closed your eyes, you may think it's generated via a computer. But you have to give him and the rest of the show a lot of credit. The program has been on the air for decades, giving people direct, straight-down-the middle automotive reviews.
MotorWeek's massive back catalog of reviews are slowly making their way onto YouTube, and they provide a fascinating chance to look back on how performance cars rank against their contemporaries from back in the day. Two recent additions include the show's old looks at the 1986 Toyota Supra, the dawn of the third-generation model, and the now-iconic 1991 Acura NSX.
Both reviews are interesting in their own way. These days you hear nary a negative word about the original NSX, but MotorWeek isn't afraid to point out a few flaws. And the Supra really shows the progress of suspension tuning in the intervening decades because it has some serious body roll in the corners. Scroll down to check out both videos and get a blast from the automotive past.

eBay Find of the Day: Ayrton Senna's 1993 Honda NSX

Fri, 09 Aug 2013

It's not often that things owned by the late Ayrton Senna come up for sale, but the seller of this black-on-black 1993 Honda NSX (aka, Acura NSX) eBay find claims it was once owned by the Formula One legend, and that he left a footprint on the factory carpet that can still be seen today. (Footprint, or vacuum lines?...)
NSX no. T000999 was given to Senna as a gift from his mentor and sponsor, Antonio de Almeida Braga, the seller claims, and it was stored at a palace near the Estoril F1 circuit in Portugal. He also was known to drive two other NSXs, a black one and a red one - the latter in which he was seen often.
The seller claims to have owned T000999, which is still in Portugal, for 17 years, and the 31,000-mile odometer indicates it was driven about 1,500 miles per year on average. Thankfully the car has been kept stock, so whoever buys it can enjoy driving it just as Senna did - that is, if the car actually is what it's claimed to be. If the story checks out, then this is one valuable NSX, which is reflected in the high minimum starting bid of 47,500 pounds ($73,620). There have been no bids at time of writing, but with nine days left in the auction, we'll be keeping our eyes on this one.

Honda to present HR-V, updated Acura ILX at LA show

Mon, 20 Oct 2014

Honda has already showcased its new Fit-based crossover around the world. We've seen it in Tokyo wearing the Vezel name and we've seen it in Paris in 'prototype' form. We've even seen photos of the US-spec version. We just haven't seen that North American model in the flesh, but that'll all be fixed next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
That's where Honda will, at long last, unveil the US version of its new HR-V subcompact. The Japanese automaker hasn't told us much else, save to say that the HR-V will, of course, slot in below the CR-V in US showrooms. It'll also feature the company's lauded Magic Seat system, "which allows for multiple seating configurations and the ability to fold the second row seat completely flat for added cargo space."
Alongside the HR-V, Honda's luxury division will also be showcasing a revised version of its ILX sedan at the LA show as well. Acura hasn't revealed precise details of what revisions are in store for its smallest sedan - or a more detailed photo than the teaser inset at right - but it is promising "a comprehensive update that include a potent new powertrain, more forceful, sporty exterior styling and a substantially upgraded interior design."
