Original owner with a one of a kind 96 Acura NSX with only 9,000 miles on NEW 3.2 liter engine, coupled to a 2.3-liter Comptech supercharger, a custom Laminova intercooler fed by GMC heater cores up front, accompanied by a Koyorad racing radiator. Rock-solid IATs and despite powerful supercharging, never any heat soak. All engineered to run like stock... until stomped on. Then--warp speed. 430 rear-wheel HP, producing awesome acceleration. (We suspect low 4's, perhaps high 3's;) full Brembo GT1 racing brake package with e-brake. Included along with these mechanicals: the exquisite Japanese OEM 5-gear set (what the car was originally designed with), Comptech headers, Taitec light-weight exhaust, modified engine cover, custom fabricated rear subframe brace . Additionally, SSR-GT1 light alloy wheels (17" front, 18" rear with 215/40R17, 275/35R18 Yokohamas to handle extra HP) and Dali anti-roll bars. Over $5000 spent 1K miles ago on suspension refurb replacing all shocks, knuckles, tie rods, etc. with brand new OEM.

Honda demonstrates new Vehicle-to-Pedestrian safety tech [w/video]
Fri, 30 Aug 2013We're fresh from a balmy rooftop deck in downtown Detroit, where Honda held a meeting this week to discuss and demonstrate a few upcoming advanced safety features. A clear focus of the mini event was the company's new Vehicle-to-Pedestrian (V2P) technology, with a suite of Vehicle-to-Motorcycle (V2M) tech a significant second course.
With spirits still high from announcing the 2014 Odyssey as the first minivan to win the Top Safety Pick+ status from IIHS - and after seeing the application of new high-strength-steel sections of the Acura MDX body structure - Honda shared the fruits of some safety tech that is still in the research phase.

Fri, 04 Oct 2013Bloomberg has a fascinating look into a web series that continues to be a favorite around the Autoblog offices - Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee. The series, which is in its second season, sees the affable comedian picking up fellow comedians in a range of interesting cars, and having conversations with them over the drive and a cup of joe.
The piece by Bloomberg dives into the development of the series, as well as Seinfeld's tie-up with Acura, which saw the Honda-owned brand begin sponsorship this season. That relationship started not with his web series, though, but with a Super Bowl ad, alongside fellow funnyman and car enthusiast Jay Leno, that saw them competing over a new Acura NSX. Snapshots from Acura NSX prototype run at Mid-Ohio
Mon, 05 Aug 2013Acura's achingly slow showing of the new, hybrid NSX saw yet another step yesterday, as we reported late last week. A powder-blue prototype ran ahead of the open-wheelers at the Honda Indy 200 at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course. Why show the NSX Prototype at Mid-Ohio? Honda's Ohio research and development center, which has taken the lead on NSX development, is just 60 miles from the track. And as race sponsor, Honda must have figured it would give the spectators a glimpse of the new supercar it's been teasing for the better part of a decade.
With a planned launch in 2015 (special emphasis on the "planned" part, considering the NSX's history), the NSX Prototype shown here sports graphics that "speak to Acura's intention to go racing with the new NSX." That's great news for fans of endurance racing, although it remains to be seen when a motorsports program for the new NSX will get off the ground.
