1972 Giulia Super 1300

For sale, a mechanically pristine, classic Alfa Romeo sedan. This car is a worry-free daily driver in need of a cosmetic overhaul to make it an exceptional example of the type. As a 1300cc Super, this car has the factory, dual side draft carburetors feeding the free revving alloy twin cam engine. The car is solid and a joy to drive with a smooth shifting 5-speed. The tires are almost new. Besides the paint needing refreshing, there are only three additional flaws with this car; a small leak around the windshield on the passenger side, some staining of the headliner and the missing prop for the trunk lid. As you can see from the photos, this car has a straight, solid body. For those not familiar with the type, the boxy shape is as efficient as it is attractive. It features details including a wraparound windshield, small frontal area, fluting and a Kamm tail, the latter which was successfully used on contemporary racers – a “coda tronca” for the family sedan. I brought the car in from England. Prior to that, the car was owned by a private party in Italy.

Alfa Romeo 8C, Maserati Quattroporte and Granturismo models recalled over rust fears

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has announced Maserati and Alfa Romeo are recalling certain Quattroporte, Granturismo and 8C models over potentially faulty tie rod ends. According to NHTSA, 2005-2008 Quattroporte, 2008 Granturismo and 2008 8C units may have been assembled with tie rod ends that have insufficient corrosion protection. As such, the components may rust, weaken and potentially fail. If that happens, the driver could lose control of the vehicle and cause an accident.
Maserati and Alfa Romeo will contact owners and replace the tie rod end assemblies once the recall gets underway in June. All told, 7,438 vehicles are impacted by the recall. You can read the full NHTSA notice below for more information.

After adding Italian motorcycle icon Ducati to its stable and spending $5.6 billion on the rest of Porsche, Volkswagen CEO Martin Winterkorn says he's done shopping for a while.
"We have enough to do at the moment in taking our twelve brands to where we want to be," Winterkorn tells German newspaper Handelsblatt.
