2007 Aston Martin Vantage Coupe, Private Party, Just 8143 Miles - Mint on 2040-cars
Fairfax Station, Virginia, United States
I am second owner of this Aston and have had it for 18 months, It is as pristine and clean as a 2007 year car can get - always garaged and never driven in poor weather and always stored for the winter months. A true hand-made automobile that has perhaps the nicest exhaust note this side of a Ferrari V12, and as one of the most handsome modern cars made today, it always draws positive comments and looks. A true sports car, if you've never driven one its very comparable to a Porsche 911S of the same era, though with more hand-made components and finer interior build together with a factory show car paint finish. This car was purchased new at Aston Martin of Washington and has been serviced there since new. A fresh oil service was completed 03/10/14 and the car needs nothing. These are very reliable cars with reasonable maintenance costs for a exotic. The factory wheels on this (19", 7-spoke) are in boxes and will come with the car. Currently on the vehicle are HRE P40 Wheels in Satin Finish, 20" Size shod with Michelin PS2 / PS3 tires. If you know HRE's then you know these wheels and tires are $ 9,000 new. If the buyer does not want them, and instead prefers the stock wheels then I will deduct $ 3,000 off the price of the car and you will get the stock wheels with a set of fresh / new OEM Bridgestone RE050 tires installed. As far as flaws on the car - very few and there is 3M film on most the exposed surfaces subject to rock chips. XM radio is installed in the car with the module located behind the shift lever on the console. $ 500 Aston Martin Factory Carpet Mats are included with the car as well (Aston does not supply them when new!) Owner's Manual with Service Records and Three keys included. There is a current lien on this car that will have to be paid off prior to title release. Options on this car and the original window sticker:
Base Price $ 111,100 Premium Audio System $ 1,595 Blue Tooth USA $ 750 Brake Calipers - Red $ 450 Leather Colour - Contemporary $ 750 Bright Finish Aluminum Grille $ 450 HID Headlamps with washers and self-leveling $ 795 Heated Front Seats $ 450 Fine Stitching $ 220 Cruise Control $ 450 Powerfold Mirrors $ 450 Memory Seats $ 450 Exterior Paint - custom (BMW Orient Blue) $ 1,595 Garage Door Opener and Auto Dimming Mirrors $ 295 Front Stone Guards $ 295 Satellite Navigation $ 2,655 Optional 19" 7-spoke wheels $ 1,595 Gas Guzzler Tax $ 2,100 Freight $ 1,350 Total MSRP $ 127,945 Inspections welcome in person or you may have a pre-purchase inspection done at Aston Martin of Washington DC if you like. I can pickup a buyer from either Reagan National airport or Dulles if you wish to fly in. Car is road-ready, solid and reliable, and a joy to drive. A no excuses vehicle that will not disappoint. Aston Martin signs Letter of Intent for technical partnership with AMG
Thu, 25 Jul 2013A little over two months ago came reports that Daimler and Aston Martin were in talks, again, about "supply and technical-cooperation agreements." The next step has been taken with Aston Martin announcing that it has signed a Letter of Intent that looks "towards a technical partnership" with Mercedes-AMG GmbH, and the two companies aiming to have definitive agreements done by year's end.
While it will get to use certain electric and electronic components from AMG, the true golden egg for the maker of the Vanquish will be the ability to develop a new line of "bespoke V8 powertrains" that will be fitted to "a new generation of models." In return for opening up the larder, Daimler will get a non-voting stake of up to five percent of Aston Martin.
Nothing else is being said about the tie-up for the moment, but there's a press release below with a few more details.
2013 Quail Motorsports Gathering wows with modern masterpieces
Sat, 17 Aug 2013Pebble Beach is an outstanding event if you're interested in pre-war classics, but outside of the parking lots, it's a bit light on more modern stuff. The Quail, now in its eleventh year, leans far more towards the present day, and has become one of the must-attend events of the Monterey car week.
Like Pebble, though, it's a highly exclusive affair, with triple-digit ticket prices that usually sell out at the same rate as a Justin Bieber concert. If you're one of the lucky few to hold a pass, though, you'll be rubbing elbows with a who's who of the auto world. One of the highlights of this year's event was the appearance of one Michael Schumacher, who showed up alongside one of his Formula 1 cars. A retrospective was also held on Lamborghini's 50 years of production, as well as another celebration of Aston Martin's centennial. There was also a tribute to the late Martin Swig, one of the co-founders of the California Mille, who passed away last year.
The cars, not surprisingly, were epic. Lamborghini, Pagani, Spyker, Rolls-Royce, BMW, McLaren, Bugatti and Galpin Ford all showed new models to the public for the first time, while there were also appearances by Jim Glickenhaus and his Ferrari P4/5 and P4/5 Competizione, marking the first time the coach-built masterpiece and its racing offspring were shown together. Finally, the Petersen Museum showed off its wears, including the late Steve McQueen's gorgeous Jaguar XK-SS.
Mercedes increases stake in Aston Martin
Wed, 06 Aug 2014As part of an increasingly close partnership, Mercedes-Benz parent company Daimler is reportedly preparing to increase its stake in Aston Martin by another one percent, bringing the German automaker's shares in the British company up to five percent.
The rapprochement between the two has been in the works for years now, and is finally beginning to take form. Mercedes-AMG is in the midst of developing a new engine with and for Aston Martin in an apparently similar arrangement to that which it has with Pagani. But that's not the extent of it.
Daimler will also furnish Aston Martin with electrical systems and other components, said to lead up to the eventual sharing of platforms: one to underpin future GTs and another to serve as the basis for a long-mooted Aston Martin crossover, now said to be back on the table and slated to launch in 2017. The prospect of using the partnership to reinvigorate both the Lagonda and Maybach luxury brands, however, has since been taken off the table, with both parties continuing those projects independently.
