Engine warning light. Engine miss at moderate speeds. Perfectly smooth at idle and above 50 mph. Possible oxygen sensors needed. Possible catalyst replacement needed (has dual exhaust so both left and right catalyst). Audi dealer suggested repairs are more than we can afford. Small paint chips at front of hood. Slight gap between front bumper and passenger side front fender. Wheels have some scratches. Wear spot on rear passenger side leather seat. Some stains on rear passenger side carpeting. Front cup holder does not stay retracted. Bear in mind that I am describing very critically. Everything works and it would be a nice car for someone who can afford the repairs or do them him or herself. This was my daughter's car but I am describing as best as I can.

Audi A1 now testing after S1 Geneva debut
Sun, 16 Mar 2014Audi showed of its new S1 hot hatch to the public at the Geneva Motor Show last week, but the Four Ringed brand isn't done tweaking the smallest member of its lineup. Here are spy shots of an upcoming refresh of the standard A1.
The camouflaged model on display here appears to be the three-door model. From what we can discern, it seems the A1 is going to look a lot more like the S1 after the revisions. The headlights and taillights are more like the new performance model than the current standard car. Unlike the S model, the facelifted version has a different front bumper with reshaped foglights and a slightly altered design.
A release date for the refresh hasn't been announced yet, but regardless it probably won't be coming here. Audi is already aiming the A3 at young, American buyers. The little A1 just doesn't fit with that strategy.
Audi pits S3 against Ur-Quattro on gravel
Wed, 13 Nov 2013If you had to pick a winner between the latest Audi S3 and the original Audi Sport Quattro, which would it be? Both hot hatches pack around 300 horsepower and all-wheel drive, but they're separated by a good thirty years of development.
To find out, Audi took both to the old rally circuit in San Remo. Behind the wheel of the Ur-Quattro they put none other than The Stig himself - no, not the Top Gear test bot, but Stig Blomqvist, the Swedish former rally driver who drove the Quattro to the World Rally Championship in the mid-80s. In the S3 they put someone named Hermann Müller, who as best we can tell was one of Auto Union's original Silver Arrow drivers - but he died in 1975, so it's probably the guy who writes for the Audi magazine. Regardless, the contest was pretty close, so it's worth checking out in the 2:26 video clip below.
Audi teases even more of the next TT ahead of Geneva in latest video
Thu, 27 Feb 2014Audi is just a few days away from launching the third-generation TT at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show, but the new sports coupe has been so thoroughly teased, sketched, and spied that it almost seems like an anti-climax. Even the interior was thoroughly hinted at during this year's CES. But that's not keeping Audi from slowly revealing more and more parts of its new baby.
The TT is a modern automotive design icon. The first generation looked like nothing else on the road when it debuted, and the second generation added a needed dose of sportiness with the TTS and TT RS. The latest teaser video for Ingolstadt's sporty coupe shows more of its aluminum body than we've ever seen before, but the biggest mystery still lingering about the new TT is what engine Audi is slipping under the hood.
