2005 Audi A6 Quattro, V8 4.2l 360hp, Fully Loaded, 19" Rims, Reserve @ $13,000 on 2040-cars
Walnut Creek, California, United States
PLEASE don't hesitate to call/text me with any questions or concerns about the car, payment, pick-up, shipping, etc. 734-355-7131 Link to Carfax report (links are PDF files that are hosted on the filedropper website): Link to Blue Book Value calculator (PDF): Reserve is set at $13,000 which is below the lowest Blue Book Value. For sale is my 2005 Audi A6 4.2L V8 Sedan, in a beautiful peal grey. It's in impeccable condition (I'm a car guy so I've taken great care of it). I have a PDF of the service records that I'd be happy to send your way. Title is clear and in my name, and it's been a California car all its life, meaning there's no rust or premature wear to speak of. This model is has all of the options, including: -Navigation system -Push to start -Premium Bose sound system with 6-disc changer -Keyless entry -Satellite Radio -BBS 19-inch wheels -Heated seats in front AND rear -Power everything -Sun roof -Automatic windshield wipers -Automatic HID lights -Leather seats -Automatic transmission w/tiptronic -Full time Quattro All-wheel drive This is a fantastic car and an awesome drive. All service has been completed as recommended either at the Audi dealership or at an Audi specialist shop (I have service records to prove it). It just had its 90,000 mile service (ahead of schedule), so everything has been checked out and the oil is brand-new. The ABS unit (can be an issue on these cars) has already been replaced with a brand new (not refurbished) unit. This iteration of the A6 (C6) was the last time Audi offered its legendary 4.2 V8 in its A6 models (now it only comes in the high-end A8L). That also means that this car comes with the beefier transmission than all of the smaller-engined A6 versions. The ride quality and comfort of the A6 is as good or better than anything I've ever been in, and it is a pleasure to drive. It definitely eats up the miles with no problem. 89,xxx miles is pretty low for this car, so as long as you keep it full of gas and oil as recommended it should go forever. If you're interested, please feel free to contact me with questions or let me know if you'd be interested in coming out to take a look. I live in Walnut Creek but I work in Berkeley, so I could meet you near either location. I will be faster to answer emails, but you can also try my cell (734-355-7131) and I will do my best to get back to you. Thanks! Ryan |

Researchers halfway to cutting carbon fiber costs by 90%
Wed, 15 Oct 2014Carbon fiber has been utilized for decades to build racecars, as a means to cut weight while maintaining strength. But until recently, the space-age material has been largely absent from the street on anything but supercars because of the expense to use it. Recently, BMW signaled a major shift in that trend when it starting using carbon fiber reinforced plastic panels on the i3 and i8. This relatively small scale start might be just the beginning; the German company believes that a breakthrough to inexpensively manufacture the lightweight stuff is just on the horizon.
MAI Carbon Cluster Management GmbH counts BMW, Audi, Airbus, the German government and many other organizations as supporters, and it's researching how to make carbon fiber cheaper to produce, according to Automotive News Europe. The company thinks it can reduce costs by 90 percent in the near future. "We've certainly reached a halfway point on our cost-cutting target for suitable carbon-fiber parts," said project head Klaus Drechsler to Automotive News Europe.
Unfortunately, it isn't entirely clear just what MAI Carbon is doing to make such a huge leap possible. However, a recent post on the company's website talks about a new form a carbon fiber using a thermoplastic matrix that could be cured in less than three minutes. That's compared to about 90 minutes in the traditional process with an autoclave.
Audi S1 nearly ready to rocket euros out of your pocket
Wed, 27 Nov 2013Audi was out testing its upcoming S1 on the streets of Germany when our trusty spy photographers snapped the new, all-wheel-drive hot hatch that's set to succeed the limited-edition A1 Quattro.
Unlike the A1 Quattro, the S1 should sport a much less aggressive look overall. As shown in the spy shots, its wheel wells lack the meaty flairs of its predecessor while its rear wing is much more subdued. The wheels are more in line with what we expect from Audi's S models and its higher ride height is more conducive to common things like steep driveways and speed bumps that the 333-unit A1 Quattro might not encounter.
According to our spies, the S1 should hit the European market with anywhere from 220 to 250 horsepower, making it considerably more potent than competitors like the Ford Fiesta ST or Polo GTI from its parent company, Volkswagen (although it'll likely arrive at a considerably higher price than either of those pocket rockets). On the high end, that's roughly equal to the 252 ponies generated by the 2.0-liter, turbocharged four in the A1 Quattro
Watch the Audi R18 E-Tron Quattro long-tail testing at Monza
Thu, 02 May 2013Audi released a single photo of the long-tailed version of its R18 E-Tron Quattro Le Mans racer, but the photo didn't offer the best view of the stretched rear. The car has been caught testing at Monza, in Italy, and not only do we get a better view of what it's got out back, we get pretty awesome sound as it makes high-speed runs past the camera.
Since the 2013-spec car was found to be down on performance versus the 2012, the long-tail is a different evolution to see if Audi can eke out more performance from its already dominant chassis. Have a look and a listen in the video below.
