This 2001 Audi Allroad is in overall good condition. has its dings and scrapes, but has been kept up with mechanically very well.
the interior of this car is very nice. it is however missing some cupholders which can be sourced easily. and the gauge cluster has the usual dead pixels. there is a small dent in the passenger front fender which i believe could be fixed fairly inexpensively. and a scratch in the rear quarter which could also be color buffed out. engine is missing its plastic covers also this vehicle has a couple options not found often including the 3rd row seating which is great for kids (total seating is 7) and Cold weather package which includes heated seats and heated steering wheel. 2.7 twin turbo with an automatic (tiptronic) transmission which shifts very smooth. steering wheel shifting is also on this vehicle. this is a CLEAN TITLE car. when i purchased the car i got a folder with probably 95% of its history of repairs down to oil changes. since i have aquired the car i have replaced both front airbags (new from Arnott( OEM)) coolant temp sensor and all 4 upper control arms in the front. Car companies may need to start curbing model proliferation
Mon, 17 Nov 2014Looking at the current automotive landscape, especially from German makers, you quickly get the impression that less definitely isn't more. BMW alone offers its 3 Series platform in practically every segment possible, including the regular sedan and 4 Series Gran Coupe, which would seem to be direct competitors. Porsche might be the winner, though, with 20 different variants of the 911 listed for sale on its US website. However, some of this model madness might be reaching an end as companies begin cutting back spending or shifting money to other priorities.
According to Yahoo Finance, the offerings from the German automakers are up 25 percent over the past three years to over 200 models in Europe. The peak is expected to come around 2018 at 230 separate vehicles, according to consulting company PwC.
Amazingly, BMW, which is among the poster children for this model explosion, might be changing its tune. "I'm sure there will be points in the future where we look at certain cars and say, 'Maybe we need to think differently now,'" said head of sales Ian Robertson in an interview, according to Yahoo Finance. The statement certainly sounds shocking coming from a company rumored to have 23 front-wheel-drive vehicles all using a single platform on the way.
New Audi TT likely headed for Geneva reveal
Wed, 22 Jan 2014Between the Consumer Electronics Show and the Detroit Auto Show, Audi is creating plenty of buzz lately for its upcoming third-generation TT. Fortunately, we won't have to wait too much longer to see the next Audi TT, though, as Autocar reports that the coupe will make its big debut at the Geneva Motor Show.
In speaking with Audi's technical chief Ulrich Hackenberg, the article states that the 2015 TT will first be revealed in March before going on sale later in the year. Previewed by the Allroad Shooting Brake Concept (shown above), it isn't that hard envisioning what the new TT could look like: ditch the shooting brake roofline, tall ride height and obvious conceptual design cues. Of course, if this styling is more your thing than the two-seater TT, Hackenberg left open the possibility of a TT Allroad or even a TT-based crossover.
