Well, I am sad to say I have to make a tough decision and part with my RS6
2003 RS6 Ebony Pearl/Black/Black with SE Exhaust from factory.
122,000 miles (and counting)
2nd owner
Service is up to date. The timing belt is not due for 20,000 more miles. (inspection provided)
Just passed Oregon emissions (DEQ). First owner had the vehicle Certified Pre-Owed for 100,000 mile Audi Warranty and during that time it has had the following repairs done at the Audi Dealership:
Transmission replacement
Both turbo's replaced
Radiator replaced
Alternator replaced
Power steering pump replaced
(4) new Pirelli Pzero Rosso tires (7/32nds remaining)
Suspension replaced under recall (all new struts)
There's more but these are the big items. I have ALL the receipts and most was done between 70-95,000 miles!!!
NO oil leaks etc :-)
...within the last 2-years all of the above was done totaling about $15,000 in parts ALONE.
I just had the car detailed and serviced at Audi including new factory Audi specific RS6 oil, filter, wiper blades and new factory Audi battery. Also, I just hard-wired the newest version of the Valentine One Radar with Savvy OBD2 that I would include with the sale (at the Buy it Now Price ONLY).
Just a couple of months ago, I replaced the poorly-designed DRC suspension with KW ST Coilovers and had the vehicle corner-balanced for my weight (220lbs) upon performing the 4-wheel alignment. The car is adjusted with a slight front rake as low as it will go without rubbing with its current tire size etc. The look and ride is AWESOME...I was impressed after getting this done!
The car runs and drives with only a couple of minor flaws:
Although I just had all 4 wheels refinished due to curb rash via WheelKraft, the RR wheel is slightly bent and presents a slight vibration at ~58mph. My intentions were to use these wheels for winter anyway and get a set of Euro 19's but I haven't yet. Also, the lower plastic belly pan is missing (I bought the car this way)--most older Audi's on the road today have these ripped off and are missing anyway but if I were to keep the car, I would have a new plastic pan installed. There have been no accidents that I am aware of however, I can tell the front bumper appears to have been resprayed at one point in time. All in all, cosmetically the car is in very good shape. No major exterior issues and the upholstery is very clean with no rips or tears anywhere I can see. All 4 seat heaters work very well!!
For more details, text me at 503-730-0975. I rarely have time to take calls during the week so texting is best.
As a reminder, you are bidding/buying this car AS-IS with no warranty. I have owned the car for about a year and have been driving it daily without issues and have listed what I know about the car to this point. We have a growing family and need a larger SUV which is the only reason for the sale.
The buyer agrees to a $500 dollar non-refundable deposit made via PayPal within 24hrs of end of auction. The balance remaining is due within 7 days of end of auction. If you don't agree please do not bid. If you have special requirements, please contact me before bidding/buying.

Audi, Jag, Kia and Tesla top Strategic Vision 2014 Total Quality Index
Sun, 06 Jul 2014A couple weeks ago, J.D. Power released its latest Initial Quality Study, which gave high marks to Porsche, Hyundai and General Motors, with the latter earning more individual IQS awards than any other manufacturer. Now, it's Strategic Vision's turn, and it's doling out its praise not to Porsche, but to Tesla, which wasn't even included in the JD Power IQS.
The Model S was named the best vehicle overall in total quality, while Porsche's corporate brother and endurance-racing rival, Audi, was named the best premium brand, alongside Jaguar. Strategic Vision cited the Q5 and the ancient Q7 for individual segment awards, as well as the A5, which was a mere point off the top of its segment. SV also handed out compliments for the Audi's interior work. The win for the German brand is a nice improvement over its IQS score, with which it landed above the industry average, but solidly mid-pack.
Jaguar was without a segment winner, although SV did say that the Indian-owned English brand had a number of vehicles very near the top of their segments. This is the second significant win for Jag in two weeks, after it finished second overall on the JD Power IQS a few weeks ago.
MotorWeek revisits Audi's iconic Quattro
Tue, 11 Nov 2014The Subaru WRX, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution and just about every other all-wheel-drive performance car owes something to the legendary Audi Quattro, a model that was far more successful on the motorsports scene than it was in the showroom. Despite its modest sales, the UrQuattro still looms large in automotive lore, and indeed, in Audi's own sense of self. Considering the brand's semi-regular flirtation with the idea of a reborn Quattro, MotorWeek must have figured it'd be a good idea to revisit the original by digging up this archival review.
While time has the ability to cover up the warts of iconic automobiles, it should be noted that Motor Week host John Davis had more than a few critiques for the all-wheel-drive, turbocharged coupe.
Davis calls the Quattro's slalom handling "a disappointment," citing the overpowered engine and slow steering, and he had some unkind words for the brakes, as well. For our part, we're kind of wowed by the amount of ship-like body motion during testing, yet that sort of bobbing was certainly par for the course back in the early '80s.
Researchers halfway to cutting carbon fiber costs by 90%
Wed, 15 Oct 2014Carbon fiber has been utilized for decades to build racecars, as a means to cut weight while maintaining strength. But until recently, the space-age material has been largely absent from the street on anything but supercars because of the expense to use it. Recently, BMW signaled a major shift in that trend when it starting using carbon fiber reinforced plastic panels on the i3 and i8. This relatively small scale start might be just the beginning; the German company believes that a breakthrough to inexpensively manufacture the lightweight stuff is just on the horizon.
MAI Carbon Cluster Management GmbH counts BMW, Audi, Airbus, the German government and many other organizations as supporters, and it's researching how to make carbon fiber cheaper to produce, according to Automotive News Europe. The company thinks it can reduce costs by 90 percent in the near future. "We've certainly reached a halfway point on our cost-cutting target for suitable carbon-fiber parts," said project head Klaus Drechsler to Automotive News Europe.
Unfortunately, it isn't entirely clear just what MAI Carbon is doing to make such a huge leap possible. However, a recent post on the company's website talks about a new form a carbon fiber using a thermoplastic matrix that could be cured in less than three minutes. That's compared to about 90 minutes in the traditional process with an autoclave.
