2009 Bmw 128i Convertible - No Reserve - Very Low Miles!! on 2040-cars
Hanover, Maryland, United States
6-speed with Sport Package (true enthusiast's car)!
I'm forced to sell my wonderful 128i convertible because of limited garage space. I moved to an apartment and have room for only
one car. The 128i has been my sunny weekend toy, but it's time for it to go to a new home.
This loaded BMW has the Premium Package, Sport Package, and the Cold Weather Package. It also has rear backup sensors (warns you when getting close to something while backing up), and the Comfort Access (just have the key in your pocket). With the Sport suspension and 6-speed manual, this car is very sporty (you will be entitled to sneer at the poseurs who selected the automatic). Moreover, you get 33mpg on the highway. This 2009 is one of the last of the great BMW straight six engines. The car is in great shape. It's always been garaged and rarely driven in bad weather. The first owner was the wife of a BMW dealer who hardly drove the car at all. Needless to say, it has always had regular full maintenance. No accidents, no paint work, no smoking or pets. Total miles are only 16,800! I have a clear title, and the car is ready to go. I'm listing my 128i with NO RESERVE and about $4,000 under book value. Usual stuff: sold as-is and where-is. Buyer is responsible for shipping. $500 deposit via PayPal immediately; balance in full within 7 days. We will work with the buyer to find the optimal/cheapest shipping mode. Note that I will be out of town from 8/2 to 8/10, so pickup must be before or after. We can pick you up at the Baltimore airport or Amtrak station. |

BMW hires Ferrari chief engineer Fedeli
Wed, 08 Oct 2014There's going to be a little bit more Prancing Horse in some future BMWs because the Bavarian brand is hiring Ferrari chief engineer Roberto Fedeli to join the company in November. Fedeli's new position is still somewhat of a mystery though, and he reportedly might be lending his talents to the high performance M division or possibly even Rolls-Royce. When asked by Automotive News Europe, BMW said that it "currently can't say what his role will be."
Regardless of his new job, Fedeli was a big get for BMW because of his strong résumé. He has been with Ferrari since 1988 and led the engineering for the famous Italian automaker's vehicles since 2007. Fedeli tendered his resignation in September at around the same time that chairman Luca di Montezemolo announced his decision to leave the company. However, Ferrari told ANE that there was no connection between the two events.
BMW M2, we're happy to see you
Wed, 03 Sep 2014I recently spent some time behind the wheel of the BMW M235i and, well, I didn't love it. Sure, it's a great car, but I just didn't truly bond with it the way I have with previous M cars. What I had hoped for was a proper successor to the 1 Series M Coupe I fell in love with in 2011, but what I got instead was just a sporty 2 Series that didn't exactly stir my emotions in the same way.
But now there's this: the honest-to-goodness BMW M2. Previously, spy photographers captured a development-mule M2, but this is the real thing, in its full prototype body. Notice the aggressive front fascia that mimics the M3/M4, the more more robust wheel/tire package, and the M-standard quad exhaust outlets around back. This thing sure does look the business.
Details are slim as of this writing, but rumors suggest power will come from BMW's now-ubiquitous N55 turbocharged 3.0-liter six, with output somewhere in the 360- to 380-horspower range. The seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission seems like a good fit here, too. As does a six-speed manual transmission (here's hoping).
BMW 2 Series Convertible goes for a drive in the cold
Wed, 13 Feb 2013The BMW 2 Series is the car that will eventually replace the 1 Series here in the United States (remember: the 1 Series moniker will live on to describe the hatchback models in other markets), and while we've seen the new coupe out on the prowl, we're now seeing the droptop version out on the road. We don't have much information about the new 2er models, only that they are expected to bow sometime in 2014.
Dimensionally, the new 2 Series convertible looks very similar in size to its outgoing 1 Series kin, with things like the roofline and roof shape looking nearly identical. Of course, reworked front and rear fascias are immediately noticeable, and judging by what little we can see, it appears as though the small BMW will take many of its design cues from the larger 3 Series rather than the oft-awkward-looking 1 Series hatch that's currently available in Europe.
Assuming things are still on track for 2014, we won't rule out a possible debut in Geneva, though the Frankfurt expo in September makes even more sense.
