Up for sale is my 1974 BMW 2002, sort of a barn find, I am the person who put it in the barn 10 years ago so it was not hard to find.
History
I purchased this car in March 1996, used it as a fun car, road rallies, club events etc. In 2003 my wife and I went on the road to travel so this went in the barn where it stayed until last week. I have title history back to 4/11/1980 but the oldest one with miles on it is dated 4/25/1989, it shows 58454 miles. When I purchased car it had 64813 miles, it now reads 67892 which I believe to be correct. Car as been stored indoors since 1996. So it is a low milage car. Time to sell. Car has not been registered since 2003.
Car is in running condition, I have driven it only 10 miles since I took if out of barn, RF brake froze up buy now seems to be working. Running a bit rough as it has a vacume leak at bottom of carb where it bolts to manifold, needs new gasket.
Engine, no known issues, the only modification that I am aware of is change to a electric fuel pump and weber carburator. On test run engine has some minor noice, took car to my machinic and asked his opinion. He did not feel that it was of any major concern, he felt that it was carbon build up and would go away. Will drive it some more this week and add comments.
This is not a show car but would be a daily driver which is what I purchased it for or if you wanted to restore it could be done.
Interior
Overall very nice condition, both front seats will need recovered. Picture of passenger seat shown, drivers about the same.
Two small cracks in dash, one nick on center console.
Door panels as well as rear panels are in good shape,
rear seat in good shape,
carpet in great shape.
Headliner in good shape.
Rear package tray in good shape.
Sunroof works without any problem.
Exterior
All glass good, all windows work as they should.
All lights work as they should, all lenses in good shape.
Body, this is a area that would need attention if you are going to show. It has rust repair by prior owner at some point and this needs attention, I have shown pictures of what needs done but it would include.
-lead edge of front hood,
-both rear wheel wells, arches,
-right and left front quarter in front of door.
-rear trunk under trim strip.
Deposit to be paid at close of auction, balance can be paid in cash when picked up. I can provide delivery at additional cost. Delivery would need to be paid in advance. Or your can arrange for commerical delivery.

BMW X1 testing is underway
Thu, 10 Oct 2013It was just a few weeks ago that we got our first glimpse of the next-generation BMW X1, riding around on a flatbed. Now, we have the first batch of images of the small crossover moving under its own steam.
Like the previous round of photos, BMW's psychedelic camouflage is on hand to obscure sheetmetal details, but our intrepid spies still managed to discover a bit about the new X1. It's internal code-name will be F48, and it will sit on the same platform as the next-generation Mini and the BMW 1 Series GT. And for those keeping track at home, those are both front-drive platforms.
The reasoning for the X1's new layout, though, is understandable. Front-wheel drive is more space efficient and affordable, which are kind of big deals to customers. The next X1 won't be limited to its front wheels, though, as BMW's xDrive system is almost a certainty on higher-end trims.
BMW 2 Series Active Tourer corners surprisingly flat on 'Ring
Mon, 07 Jul 2014With seven seats and front-wheel drive, you might not expect the upcoming long-wheelbase version of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer to live up to the Ultimate Driving Machine reputation that BMW has fostered over the years. But the latest spy clip from the Nürburgring suggests otherwise.
The Bavarian automaker has apparently been testing its new people mover on the Nordschleife, getting it ready to join the growing 2 Series family. And though it's wearing heavy camouflage, we can clearly see from the video below that it's cornering impressively flat - which bodes well for those who'll need to transport their expanding family but aren't prepared to give up on handling.
BMW to launch loaner program to avoid range anxiety on i models
Tue, 12 Mar 2013BMW is looking to stave off electric vehicle range anxiety with a new program that offers buyers a free gasoline loaner with every i3 purchase. Ward's Auto reports BMW is confident that the EV will give buyers the kind of transportation they need for 90 percent of their trips. The loaners, meanwhile, will be available for those few occasions when drivers need to cover more ground than the machine's batteries will allow. The i3 gets around with help from a 180-horsepower electric motor paired with a lithium-ion battery pack.
The combo is good for trips of between 80 and 100 miles depending on driving habits and weather conditions, though BMW also plans to offer a model with a small two-cylinder range-extending gasoline engine as well. That option will likely set you back an additional $4,000. When the machine bows in 2014, it will likely come with a charge time of four to six hours when suckling from a 220-volt outlet.
As far as the conventionally powered loaner car goes, the cost of the program is included in the i3's purchase price, though BMW has yet to figure out how many free loans will be offered, or what happens after that threshold is reached.
