I'm selling my 1975 BMW 2002.  It's an awesome little car and very fund to driver.  I get thumbs ups all the time.  I've owned the car for a year.  The previous owner did a lot of mechanical work to the car.  I added some cosmetic changes myself.  I need to sell the car because I just bought a new car and can't afford to keep three cars.

Here is some of the work done by the previous owner.  The car has only been driven about 2000 miles since the work was done.

Engine:

- Mostly stock.

-It has a Cannon 2 barrel intake manifold with a rebuilt Weber 38/38 double pumper carburetor with manual choke.

-Tii distributor.

-New distributor cap and rotor.

-New spark plug wires.

-Tii exhaust manifold with E30 M10 exhaust gasket

-New oem valve cover gasket

-New Ireland Engineering rubber motor mounts

-I installed a resonator and muffler combo.  Sounds good when you step on it.

-The motor has a small oil leak coming from the front.  Only about a drop or two a night.  Haven't really took the time to check it out cause it's small.

-In the past couple weeks I've heard a ticking noise coming from the distributor.  Not sure what it is.  I have a spare distributor I'll include in the sale.

Transmission:

- 4-speed transmission (shifts perfectly with no grinding at all)

-New Z3 shifter w/ motorsport shift knob

-New guibo

-New 318i transmission mount

-Clutch feels real good and shifts smooth

Suspension:

-H&R sport springs

-Bilstein Sport shocks

-New strut tower mounts

-New rubber bushings at every joint

-New subframe mounts

-New sway bar endlinks with urethane bushings

-New control arms

-New tie rod ends

-New ball joints

Brakes:

-New master cylinder

-Rebuilt front brake calipers w/ new PBR pads

-New front brake rotors

-New rear brake drums w/ new shoes

-New rear wheel cylinders

-Stainless steal flexible brake lines

-The car stops very good with no pulling

Interior:

The interior is in good condition.

There are a couple of very small cracks in the dash.

The headliner needs to be cleaned but is in good condition.

I've installed a Sony mp3 Ipod multi media player with 2 6x9 speakers in 6x9 speaker boxes.  I didn't cut any holes for the speakers.  Instead they are sitting on the floor behind the seats.

Body:

-The car has original paint with great patina.  The engine bay is very clean and rust free.  There is no rust in the real problem areas such as the rocker panels, rear shock towers, and along the windshields.  However there is some minor surface rust on the roof and trunk lid.  There are no rust holes.  It's very minor and easy to repair if you wanted to.  I liked the look of the patina and prefer the car the way it is.

-In the right front fender behind the wheel there is a bad repair job.(see photo)  It looks like it was dented and then pounded out with a hammer and touch up with some paint. I don't see and body filler.  I just covered it up with the German flag stripes.

-I removed the stock diving board bumpers.  I installed a early model chrome rear euro bumper.  Installed a Ireland Engineering front air damn and left it flat black.  Also put in a pair of Hella fog lights.  The German flag stripes are vinyl stickers that can be removed very easily.

-The rims are 14 BBS style mesh pattern.  The tires are ok but should be replaced in the next 4-6months depending on how much you drive.

-The headlights are Hella H4's

-All the lights and signals work on the car.  The odometer works occasionally.

Overall it's a very fun car to drive.  The suspension and front end have been rebuilt and it handle light a dream.  The ride is very good.  The car shift great.  This car is ready to be a daily driver or a weekend cruiser.  Mechanically sound.

2015 BMW X6 stays the course with more power, RWD model

Thu, 05 Jun 2014

What would this world be without the BMW X6? Oh, sure, the whole coupe-crossover design trend surely would have started somewhere, but BMW was the first, launching its odd duck back in 2008. Much as we like to harp on the X6 (for being less functional and more expensive than the X5 on which it's based), people around the world sure do seem to like the thing, BMW having sold some 250,000 examples since the CUV's birth. And as you first saw thanks to leaked images this morning, the second-generation X6 has just arrived.
The shape is familiar, as are specific styling elements like the larger headlamps (now available with a full-LED treatment) and taillamps, mimicking those found on the X5. Two trims are available - xLine and M Sport - the former taking a more subdued approach, while the latter uses the traditionally bulgy and aggressive M-badged kit, with larger air intakes and matte aluminum grille bars. All X6s come standard with 19-inch wheels, and 20s are optional.
Regardless of trim, BMW will now offer the X6 in three guises here in the United States: sDrive35i, xDrive35i and xDrive50i. Dissecting the nomenclature, that means the first two models will be powered by BMW's 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six, good for 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque. The sDrive X6 uses rear-wheel drive, while the xDrive, of course, uses all-wheel drive. Moving up, the xDrive50i uses the same twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 as its predecessor, though power has been increased to 450 hp and 480 lb-ft. All X6 models are fitted with an eight-speed automatic transmission, and BMW says that the new powertrains are more efficient than before, though official fuel economy numbers have not yet been released.

2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe officially debuts, priced from $41,425*

Fri, 14 Jun 2013

Well, that didn't take long. Less than two hours after the first images of the 2014 BMW 4 Series Coupe leaked onto the Internet, we've been given the go-ahead to publish the whole kit and caboodle. And while we won't say we told you so, it looks as though the car's official details are standing true to our earlier predictions.
In other words, BMW will offer the 4 Series in 428i and 435i models, both of which can be had with xDrive all-wheel drive. Just like in the 3 Series, the 428i is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, good for 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque, and the 435i gets BMW's turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six making 300 hp and 300 lb-ft. In three of the four models, both a six-speed manual and eight-speed automatic transmission are available; the 428i xDrive can only be had with the auto 'box. The 428i (with rear-wheel drive, we assume) can hit 60 miles per hour in 5.7 seconds (though BMW doesn't specify with which transmission), and the 435i will do that same sprint in 5.3 seconds with the manual and five seconds flat with the eight-speed auto.
We've already dissected the 4 Series' visuals, but the numbers show just how different it is from the 3 Series sedan. The 4 Coupe is one-tenth of an inch longer overall, while riding on the same 110.6-inch wheelbase, is 0.6 inches wider, and has a roofline that's a full 2.7 inches closer to the ground. It looks sleek, incorporating BMW's new design language from the 3 Series with an overall profile that's similar to the larger 6 Series coupe.

Bunny couldn't out hop a BMW M3 on-track

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

Driving a car is a dangerous hobby, and not just because of other drivers or poor roads. Sometimes, it seems like even the wildlife is out to get you, as evidenced here, here, here, here and here. Now, we can add one more unfortunate car-versus-animal encounter to the tally.
Perhaps believing that this bright orange BMW M3 GTS was a very fast, very loud carrot, an unfortunate bunny leaped into its windshield in a brutal accident at a Polish racetrack. Considering the M3's speed at the time, 89 miles per hour, the passengers are lucky to be okay. Obviously, Bugs didn't make it.
The BMW isn't in such great shape, though. The windshield is in a bit of a state, with safety glass sprayed all over the passenger side of the cabin. There doesn't appear to be any sheetmetal damage, at least from what we can tell from the video. Although there isn't any blood, the hit is really hard. The initial point of impact is at 0:57. Check out the video below.
