Auction is for MY personal BMW M20 2002... Its been my daily driver for over a year now, I just bought a "project house" last week and need to move some of my toys. This was a hard decision to sell it and I'm already having regrets as I write this.
Many of you have seen this car in person at Bimmerfest East, Deutsche Classic, Mpact East, Carlisle Import Show, etc...
The car is NOT a show car or trailer queen, its a very clean driver.
* Please call me and I can tell you about the car in person if you like, SERIOUS inquiries ONLY. NO TRADES, NO LOW Ballers & NO tire kickers.
About the car:
I bought the car from a personal friend who was having some health issues, (I actually bought a garage FULL of 2002 parts, 2 complete 02 cars and a 1957 Isetta- just to let you know what type of guy he was!). It had been sitting in a garage since 2001. The car was bone stock and RUST FREE. He told me he bought the car from the owner of a local BMW dealership many years prior. I brought the car home and started what you see here today. We pulled the engine and trans and installed a M20 6cyl. (2.7 bottom end & rebuilt 2.5 head). Below I will outline the parts we used;

* The transmission shifts 100%
* New PA state inspection
* Beautiful color combo
* Clean PA title.
* Drive it home today.
BADS:
* The car is NOT PERFECT- if you want "perfect", this car is NOT for you.
* The seats still have the orig horse hair stuffing and is not a friend to your back, I stuffed the drivers with foam for long trips
* The driveshaft needs to be balanced, has a vibration at certain speeds & I just haven't had the time to do it.
* The valve seals seem to be leaking under hard decel and it lets out some smoke. Its been this way for 2000 miles. Uses a qt of oil here and there.
* The paint is NOT perfect, the front nose panel & LF fender were repainted what looks like years ago (no sign of a wreck) and paint is "checked" in those places - like small cracks in the paint.
* The car was sitting in a garage that had a roof that dripped for 10 years and dripped in the center of the roof -cracking the paint. We sanded it, spray'd it (not bad) but, tough color to match... hence the tri color vinyl on the roof.
* Exhaust is loud and gets a little annoying after 2 hours of driving
* Stock brakes are not the best, once in a while the calipers get a little sticky, just haven't had a chance to upgrade them.
* I'm SURE I'm missing something... PLEASE come see it in person and ASK questions!

Vorsteiner BMW M4 GTRS4 shows how to do a widebody at SEMA
Wed, 05 Nov 2014Part of the joy of the SEMA Show is that all of the best tuners in the world are competing to show off their wares, and the challenge often pushes the companies into some absolutely insane directions. Case in point: Vorsteiner and its ludicrous GTRS4 wide body kit with the BMW M4.
According to Auto Evolution, the kit reportedly adds 4 inches in the front to fit 10.5-inch-wide wheels and a massive 7-inches more in the rear to snug in 13.5-inch-wide wheels, but spinning around the BMW in these images makes the changes look even more extreme. Beyond just the extra room in the fenders, the lower air intakes are ready to suck in huge volumes of cool air, and there's a front splitter to keep things planted. The front and rear extensions are joined by side sills that grow the farther back they go. Finally, at the rear, the M4 gets a reworked diffuser with mesh inserts.
This is just the type of automotive craziness that makes SEMA interesting. Take a lot at it for yourself in the gallery.
Bunny couldn't out hop a BMW M3 on-track
Mon, 15 Jul 2013Driving a car is a dangerous hobby, and not just because of other drivers or poor roads. Sometimes, it seems like even the wildlife is out to get you, as evidenced here, here, here, here and here. Now, we can add one more unfortunate car-versus-animal encounter to the tally.
Perhaps believing that this bright orange BMW M3 GTS was a very fast, very loud carrot, an unfortunate bunny leaped into its windshield in a brutal accident at a Polish racetrack. Considering the M3's speed at the time, 89 miles per hour, the passengers are lucky to be okay. Obviously, Bugs didn't make it.
The BMW isn't in such great shape, though. The windshield is in a bit of a state, with safety glass sprayed all over the passenger side of the cabin. There doesn't appear to be any sheetmetal damage, at least from what we can tell from the video. Although there isn't any blood, the hit is really hard. The initial point of impact is at 0:57. Check out the video below.
2015 BMW X4 configurator is ready to get personal
Thu, 17 Apr 2014The 2015 BMW X4 configurator is ready for your special touch. Starting with the 300-horsepower xDrive35i that starts at $48,925 after destination, our special touch aimed at a luxury cruiser and added $9,250 to proceedings for a final tally of $58,175. That got us the Technology, Lighting and Driver Assistance packages, navigation and enhanced USB and smartphone integration. We were tempted to go for the Dynamic Damping Control for just $1,000 and a set of 20-inch M Double Spoke Wheels, but the configurator didn't want to mix the M Sport Line with our Sparkling Brown metallic exterior hue so we skipped it.
We've covered the details on pricing and the breakdown of the order guide elsewhere, so you can always click through for refreshers. Or you can skip all those words and dive straight into trying to build an X4 that makes you say, "Yeah, now I get it."
