48,000 Actual Miles! This survivor E30 is in awesome condition! Mostly original and hard to find black paint, very sharp! Body, floorpans and trunk rust-free. I installed new tires and alloy wheels. This car is an every day summer driver and it runs well. Installed new AM/FM CD with MP3, USB, and auxillary input. New Hella driving lights installed. I also did a lot of work on the A/C two years ago, new York compressor and bracket. Air worked and blew cold, but at idle sometimes the engine would stall, never really spent more time figuring that out. Other know defects with the car; dashpad has a couple of the standard cracks, (see photo), power mirrors do not work, driver's seat has some tears, small tear in rear seat. All other options work including manual sunroof, clock, rear defog, etc. Own this future classic for half the price of a 2002. Contact Randy at 585-509-1585 with questions.

BMW planning Chinese recall for engine part issue [w/video]
Mon, 17 Mar 2014After receiving an unspecified number of complaints in China, BMW has reportedly started a "full investigation" into what may be a defective part in its VANOS engine control system. BMW said via a Chinese blog that it would file a recall application with the the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in China.
BMW has not yet announced how many vehicles will be recalled, or which models the potential recall might cover. We're also curious as to whether the VANOS issue could extend into markets outside of China.
We've placed a call with BMW in the United States, and will update this post as soon as we hear back. Stay tuned for more, and if you're curious about what VANOS is and how it works, scroll down below for a video animation.
Can the government mechanically force you to wear your seatbelt? [w/poll]
Fri, 30 Aug 2013
The National Highway Traffic Administration is considering the use of ignition interlocks in vehicles that would require the seatbelts of occupied seats to be fastened in order to drive the car, Automotive News reports, four decades after Congress moved to prevent manufacturers from installing them in cars sold in the US market. Following a transportation bill passed last year that lift some of the restrictions on seatbelt interlocks, automakers such as BMW are considering the benefits of using them in future cars. Now, before you go crying about your lost freedom, keep reading.
BMW said in an October 2012 petition that the use of seatbelt interlocks would allow the company to make lighter and more spacious vehicles, if the devices could be used in lieu of unbelted crash tests. The crash test has required the addition of bulky safety features, such as knee bolsters, that aren't as necessary when occupants are buckled up, especially when considering the dizzyng list of safety features that come standard on today's cars. Europe, which has a higher rate of seatbelt use than in the US, doesn't perform unbelted crash tests on cars sold there.
NHTSA releases updated Takata airbag recalled cars list, but it still has errors
Wed, 22 Oct 2014
Unfortunately, the government's list still contains errors.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued an updated list of vehicle models that it's urging owners to repair under the mushrooming Takata airbag inflator recall. The latest version adds vehicles from new automakers like Subaru and Ford that are missing from the original announcement, and it also removes erroneous entries from General Motors, leaving only the 2005 Saab 9-2X (a reskinned Subaru WRX), and the 2003-2005 Pontiac Vibe, a joint project with Toyota.
