This BMW is an original same owner low mileage survivor for 31 years!  I am the 2nd owner.  The original owner drove the car regularly only during the first few years of ownership, after which it was garaged and serviced regularly, but driven only on occasion. Mileage is verifiable 50k, and a recent mechanical inspection reveals that everything is in top condition save for an intermittently sticking fuel gauge.

All panels and paint are original and overall in excellent condition except for a few normal paint chips & scratches which I had professionally touched up. In addition, paint as photographed shows no evidence of oxidization.  The rest of the exterior is clean, shiny metal, unfaded, uncracked rubber, and tight fit.  Quick to tarnish details like stainless window trim and wiper arms show no rust, discoloration, or other problems normally stemming from long periods of storage. The only other small flaw is a rock chip low on the front windshield just about the window wiper.

The interior presents as close to new condition, with no obvious signs of age or use. This is a nice optioned example, specs include vinyl, A/C, AM/FM stereo, fog lights and sunroof. The dash shows no cracking, warping, or discoloration, and switchgear and instruments are also nicely preserved.  The only non-stock item is a discreet remote control for the trunk-mounted CD player.  This system can easily be removed.  The head unit itself remains OEM.

Mechanically speaking, this 320i is extremely well sorted with strong maintenance records dating back to 1990.  Mileage is verified by service receipts and state inspection documents dating from 2000, 2003, 2005, and 2007, as well as a 2000 receipt from Sears for a new battery.  Original paperwork includes a roadside service program brochure, various salestime pamphlets and the owners manual. The engine compartment still retains all of its original stickers and labels throughout!  A/C has been converted to R134a, and works great!  Tires have very few miles, and although not pictured, the wheel wells and underside areas are also very clean with absolutely no signs rust anywhere!

Please note: auto check report shows that the car has been in a minor accident. I talked to the original owner and it was not in any kind of fender accident what so ever!  He said he rolled over something in the road back in 1991, and dented the oil pan slightly. So he reported it to his insurance company to have the oil pan replaced.

true survivor car that has been pampered its entire life!  Well optioned 5 speed manual transmission, with AC, Sunroof, Fog Lights, AM/FM Stereo, along with its great color combo!  A very difficult find in this original condition!

This car has also been accepted and featured on the BaT (Bring A Trailer) site, exclusive section!

BMW 2 Series Active Tourer pulls its way onto the stage

Wed, 05 Mar 2014

We know what you might be thinking: here comes another BMW with yet another kind of roofline. Only this isn't just another BMW. It's the first front-drive BMW, and the first time we've ever seen it in person.
That model, of course, is the new 2 Series Active Tourer, debuting here in Geneva as the production version of the Concept Active Tourer and the beefier Concept Active Tourer Outdoor that followed. It shares about as much with the 2 Series Coupe as a jelly donut, but takes BMW into a new market segment - that of the high-roofed hatchback (or micro-minivan, depending on your perspective) occupied by the likes of the Mercedes-Benz B-Class and Volkswagen Golf Sportsvan.
Power comes from a choice of 1.5-liter turbo three, 2.0-liter turbo four or 2.0-liter turbodiesel - but aside from the forced-induction engines what they all the versions have in common is what makes the 2 Series Active Tourer newsworthy: they all sit up front, driving the front wheels. It's an idea BMW purists might not appreciate, but one we'd all better get used to just the same.

BMW M5 arrives in Monterey packing 600 hp and matte paint

Fri, 15 Aug 2014

What's a sure-fire way to make a vehicle better? Well, you can add power or make it more exclusive. BMW has done both, just in time to celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of the legendary M5 sedan.
Only 300 examples of the car you see above, the M5 30th Anniversary Edition, will be sold to the public, and those lucky owners will enjoy the most exclusive, most powerful M5 ever made. Power continues to flow from the standard M5's twin-turbocharged, 4.4-liter V8, which has had its wick turned up to 600 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque. The sprint to 60 now happens in just 3.7 seconds, which is still a scarcely fathomable speed among sports cars, let alone comfortable, finely upholstered sedans.
Speaking of that upholstery, Alcantara and leather seats and an Alcantara steering wheel identify the exclusive M5, while special sill plates further call out the car's unique spec. Outside, the standard Competition Package adds 20-inch wheels and black chrome badges, while 30th Anniversary Editions wear BMW's Frozen Dark Silver matte paint.

BMW wants world drifting record back in US

Sat, 23 Mar 2013

BMW just can't stand the thought of the world record for the longest drift winding up in the hands of someone else. The German automaker is set to take a crack at setting a new record by blowing the old one straight out of the water. A driver in China holds the current title after kicking a car sideways for a full 3.6 miles. Now, on May 11, BMW Performance Driving Instructor Johan Schwartz will attempt to pitch a BMW M5 sideways for some 40 miles as part of a stunt to raise funds for the BMW Pro-Am Charity.
We've had the distinct pleasure of riding with the instructors at the BMW facility in South Carolina, and we can tell you that if anyone can keep an M5 at full tilt for 40 miles, it's these guys. BMW has released a teaser video to drum up attention for the stunt. You can catch it below.
