1991 Bmw 325ic Red Convertible - 16,300 Original One-owner Miles on 2040-cars
Lenexa, Kansas, United States
Where do I begin? My parents bought this car new from the BMW dealership in Chicago, IL in 1991. My father has since passed and the car belongs to my 93 year old mother. We live in Kansas City. The reason they bought it in Chicago was that was the only dealership in the entire USA that had a red/black 325i with all factory options offered. So, coordinated by the dealership in Kansas City, they flew to Chicago and drove the car back to KC. The car is 100% original, including the original tires! The car has never been damaged, never painted on, has never been driven in the snow, and only by accident was the car ever in the rain...twice! My best guess is the top has been down no more than 10 times. Only my wife and I have ridden in the backseat, and that was twice! The car has been stored in my mother's garage with a car cover and battery tender attached. I live very close to her, so I have tried to go over and start it and drive around the neighborhood over the years. Each winter I have added gas stabilizer so the gas wouldn't go bad. It starts right up, and seems to drive fine. However, I think any buyer would want to change the original plugs and do a tune-up, filters and overall checkup. The brake lining light comes on sometimes, but the car brakes fine...I cant imagine the brakes being bad with only a little over 16k miles...but the car has been driven very little in the last 10 years and in my opinion it should be gone through before any extensive driving. I cant express enough how nice this car is. I am confident to say I cannot imagine there is another original, untouched one like it in the country! This car deserves to be owned by someone that will continue to treat it as we have, just drive it a little more! We do not want to sell it to someone looking for a daily driver! It would be a shame to treat this wonderful little car any differently that it has come to know and expect from my mom and dad over the years! The paint has a few swirl scratches in the clear coat from the car cover, but it still has a new car sheen to it. If you would buff the paint with a polishing wheel, I think it would look like a brand new car, that's how nice it is. I purposely have not cleaned or detailed the engine compartment or interior. I want a prospective buyer to see it untouched! Like the paint, with a little attention the leather and dash will look like new! If you want the best...YOU JUST FOUND IT! |

VW Golf R pitted against BMW M235i in enthusiast's choice battle
Fri, 15 Aug 2014Most people don't have two, open spots in their garage to fit a practical daily driver and a fire-breathing performance car for the weekends. That's what makes vehicles like the latest Volkswagen Golf R and BMW M235i just about perfect for the average person. Both of these Germans can lope around as a commuter 90 percent of the time and be perfectly comfortable. However, when you want to walk in the door with a big smile on your face, you can take the back roads home and get a real thrill from them.
In his latest short video, Chris Harris from Drive tests these surprisingly comparable German performance cars. Both of them offer buyers in the neighborhood of 300 horsepower, with the BMW winning out with 320 hp. However, the Golf R gets standard all-wheel drive, which is now an option on the M235i. Harris has quite positive things to say about these Europeans, but you're going to have to watch the video to hear just what he thinks.
BMW M5 turns 30, celebrates sideways
Sun, 13 Apr 2014BMW has a secret, and it's not telling. The brand's M Power blog is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the M5 and is taking a look back at previous models of its Autobahn-storming sedan, but it says that it will end "with a surprise." The celebration kicks off with a short video showing the latest M5 making some smoky donuts.
The original M5 debuted in 1985 and was the company's most expensive model at the time. Still, it packed a 3.5-liter six-cylinder generating a claimed 282 horsepower (286 PS), which was rather potent in its day. The company touted it as the world's fastest production four-door sports sedan at the time.
BMW won't reveal the surprise until it has chronicled all five generations of the M5, but it wouldn't be shocking to see an anniversary edition model appear sometime later this year. Scroll down to check out the video of the muscle sedan celebrating its birthday the only way it knows how.
