Im selling my 1997 BMW 328is with 142,000 miles. Its 5 speed manual and runs, drives, and shifts great. The car has zero rust top or bottom. The underside is in unbelievable condition. The paint is glossy but has a couple small blemishes. There is a wave in the drivers door but usually only noticable when the car is freshly washed. It has a small powering steering leak but it has been getting less and less as I have been adding lucas power steering fluid. The CEL is on from one of the cats being defective but it passed inspection in November 2012 even with it faulty. It is lowered with Raceland coilovers with camber adjustable pillow ball strut plates. The wheels are 17" black E36 M3 DSII wheels and are staggered, 7.5" front and 8.5" rear. The tires a michelin pilots are have decent tread. The front wheels have a 12mm spacer and extended wheel bolts. The interior is in very nice condition with only slight wear on the drivers side left seat bolster. No sun damage, rips or tears of any kind. I would consider trading for a 99 up silverado, f250 or suburban. Please call or text me at 607-425-8830 if interested. The thermostat is stuck open so when its really cold outside the operating temp is a little below optimum but not a big deal. The hood cable is strectched. To pop the hood I have been simply popping out the drivers side corner light and pulling the cable that way. It is lowered with Raceland coilovers with camber adjustable pillow ball strut plates. The wheels are 17" black E36 M3 DSII wheels and are staggered, 7.5" front and 8.5" rear. The tires a michelin pilots are have decent tread. BMW broadens engine bolt recall to nearly half-million cars worldwide
Fri, 11 Apr 2014Almost one month ago, we reported on a BMW investigation into a potentially defective bolt that lived in the company's VANOS variable valve timing system. At that point, the potential recall was seemingly limited to Chinese-market cars; the company was filing a recall application with Chinese officials.
Today, Bloomberg is reporting that the engine bolt issue has expanded into a recall for several world markets, involving some 489,000 vehicles. BMW was able to verify that report to Autoblog, while also providing a great deal more detail about the issue and vehicles affected.
The recall affects vehicles powered by N55 inline six-cylinder gasoline engines equipped with VANOS and Valvetronic technologies. 1 Series, 3 Series, 5 Series and 5 Series Gran Turismo, X3, X5, X6 and Z4 models from the 2010 to 2012 model years are included, as is the 2012 6 Series.
BMW Concept 90 Motorcycle debuts at Villa d'Este
Fri, 24 May 2013The Concept 90 is one of two new vehicles BMW is showing off at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on the tony shores of Lake Como in Italy. This year is the 90th anniversary of BMW Motorrad and the 40th anniversary of the R 90 S (inset) - the first production motorcycle to come with a front fairing - and BMW has worked with custom bike builder Roland Sands Design to craft a homage to the Daytona Orange boxer from the Seventies.
While following the line of its forbearer, obviously the Concept 90 has been sexed and sleeked up. The bodywork is of hand-worked aluminum, the giant halogen lamp of the 1975 model (which is when Daytona Orange was introduced) has gone LED, and the front engine cover, valve covers, exhaust and wheels have been made with a contrast-cut milling process.

Both the non-M BMW 3 Series sedan and 4 Series coupe have so far brought much pleasure to us at Autoblog. The terrific four-cylinder 328i trim has become our favorite of the 3 Series line, while we have yet to get a chance at the 428i coupe. That said, the 35i trim powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline six-cylinder engine is not exactly to be sniffed at.
We all know the ones you're really waiting for, though. The F80 fifth-generation M3 sedan and the supremely sexy F82 M4 coupe. Rumors have been buzzing for a couple of years now that the engine would be another V8, only turbocharged this time, or else a tri-turbo six. Well, today BMW confirmed that the mill under the hood's power bulge is a 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder TwinPower Turbo of the biturbo variety, referred to internally as "S55B30 variant."
