1998 Bmw 323i 323ic Convertible Coupe 2.5l 98 No Reserve on 2040-cars
Effingham, South Carolina, United States
Here is an incredibly nice 1998 BMW 323ic Convertible with a
5 speed transmission. I have driven this car for the last two weeks personally
and enjoyed every single second of it. She has 141k miles and drives like a
dream. The only light on is the brake pad indicator but the breaks feel fine to
me. The engine runs great and has a surprising amount of power when you ask for
it. The clutch feels great and every gear feels good and shifts great. The air
is absolutely ice cold in her and I have actually had to turn it down a bit
even on the days when it was 100 degrees outside. The power tops appears to
have a newer canvas top that is in very good condition with only one or two
small areas of wear & works exactly as it should. Also we have had a lot of
rain here lately and have not seen a drip inside so I do not believe there are
any leaks on the top. The power windows all work except for the driver window
as I believe it requires a new motor. The interior is very clean for a car of
this age and is in good condition. The leather is in very nice condition with
no major signs of wear or tears. There are a 3 pieces of trim that will need
replaced two are plastic speaker surrounds and an airbag emblem is missing all
can be had on eBay for around $25.00. The black paint is in good condition as
well with only a few minor rock chips but nothing major. There are no signs of clear
coat damage anywhere. The body is very straight and there are no signs of rust
anywhere. There are a few minor dings that I believe a paintless dent
profession could easily remove. One is
on the passenger door near the handle and the other two on the rear deck lid.
If you have any question please don’t hesitate to call or text me at
843-617-8077 but please remember that I am on the east coast and there is a
time difference depending where you are calling from. I own a small car lot in
South Carolina and have sold a few of these convertible 3 series and this is by
far the best running nicest one I have come across in the last few years. |

2014 BMW X5 recalled over faulty child-safety locks
Tue, 27 May 2014BMW is set to recall some 6,400 of its new-for-2014 X5 SUVs built between December 12, 2013 and March 10, 2014 due to concerns that the child safety locks, if set, might deactivate without warning. The problem affects only those vehicles with the automatic soft-closing option.
According to the bulletin issued by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, the lock mechanism on the rear doors "may not have been manufactured to correct tolerances," meaning the safety locks could disengage with a simple pull of the door handle. Basically, with a pair of tugs, the rear doors could be opened from the inside, regardless of child safety locks.
BMW is in the process of notifying owners of affected vehicles. Any necessary repairs will be conducted free of charge. Take a look below for the official press release from NHTSA.
The 2014 Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo Cabrio powers up luxury and speed
Tue, 04 Mar 2014The BMW specialists at Alpina know how to exploit a niche when they see one. With the BMW M4 still not technically official, it saw the need for a higher performance four-seat convertible than the 435i 'vert. Enter the new B4 Bi-Turbo Cabrio that is debuting at the Geneva Motor Show.
The European-exclusive model takes BMW's 3.0-liter, twin-turbocharged inline-6 and massages it up to 410 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque, which is less power but more twist than the M4 would give buyers. Alpina's tend to be built more as quick, luxurious grand tourers, and the B4 Bi-Turbo gets is no different with an adaptive sport suspension and an eight-speed automatic. Plus it wears the classic pinstripes and 21-spoke wheels that are the brand's design hallmarks.
While the added weight for the convertible means that the Cabrio takes 4.5 seconds to reach 62 miles per hour, about a half-second slower than the coupe, at the moment it is the only way to get this kind of performance in a BMW convertible. Orders for the convertible open in March in Europe and prices in Germany start at 74,800 euros ($102,878 at today's conversion rates).
2015 BMW 2 Series Cabriolet flips its lid [w/video]
Thu, 02 Oct 2014Early next year, BMW will offer droptop versions of its entry-level 2 Series. Available in both 228i and M235i guise, the 2 Series Cabriolet will no doubt take everything we already like (and don't like) about the Twoer and add that wind-in-your-hair experience. Of course, taking in all the extra sun comes at a price - $37,900 for the 228i and $47,700 for the M235i, not including $950 for destination. Those prices represent increases of $5,800 and $4,600, respectively.
Powertrain specs are identical to the coupes, with the 228i powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged inline-four good for 240 horsepower and 255 pound-feet of torque. The more potent M235i gets BMW's turbocharged, 3.0-liter inline-six, with 320 hp and 330 lb-ft of push, and can hit 60 miles per hour in 4.8 seconds. That's with the eight-speed automatic transmission, which is available with either engine. And for those who prefer to row their own, BMW will thankfully offer a six-speed manual gearbox with both powerplants, as well.
Following the Paris Motor Show unveiling, the pair will be shown in the US at the Los Angeles Auto Show in November before hitting dealers a few months later. Have a look at the new droptop in our fresh batch of images live from the Porte de Versailles exhibition center, and read BMW's lengthy press blast, below, for all of the official information.
