Up for sale is my wife's 2003 BMW 325CI convertible The exterior color is Orient blue metallic and the interior is tan. The reason we are selling the BMW is because she bought a new car. We have owned the BMW for approx. 6 years now. We are the 2nd owners of the BMW. The car currently has approx. 98,752 miles on it. I have a clean NYS title in hand. The New York State inspection is good until 02/2014. The BMW has always been dealer maintained and parked in our car port. The BMW has been detailed every season and was just detailed from interior, exterior and engine bay!
All standard maintenance work was primarily performed at BMW of Manhattan. The car was adult driven and never smoked in. The tan leather interior is in immaculate condition. The power top works perfect and the convertible top is in perfect shape with no tears or stains! It has a automatic transmission that shifts nice and smooth. The 6 cylinder engine still pulls strong! BMW working with Dainese to put airbags in motorcycle suits [w/video]
Fri, 19 Jul 2013Addressing the safety concerns of its customers, BMW Motorrad is co-developing a rider suit with Dainese to feature something that's much more common in automobiles: airbags.
Starting with Dainese's D-air Protect System, which is made up of inflatable protectors that deploy in 15 milliseconds, the two companies will integrate the technology into a BMW Motorrad brand, one-piece racing suit, the DoubleR RaceAir. Later a different, street-oriented airbag system that can be retrofitted to bikes will be offered to Beemer riders.
The DoubleR RaceAir is expected to be presented at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in November, after all required crash testing has been completed.
BMW X1 testing is underway
Thu, 10 Oct 2013It was just a few weeks ago that we got our first glimpse of the next-generation BMW X1, riding around on a flatbed. Now, we have the first batch of images of the small crossover moving under its own steam.
Like the previous round of photos, BMW's psychedelic camouflage is on hand to obscure sheetmetal details, but our intrepid spies still managed to discover a bit about the new X1. It's internal code-name will be F48, and it will sit on the same platform as the next-generation Mini and the BMW 1 Series GT. And for those keeping track at home, those are both front-drive platforms.
The reasoning for the X1's new layout, though, is understandable. Front-wheel drive is more space efficient and affordable, which are kind of big deals to customers. The next X1 won't be limited to its front wheels, though, as BMW's xDrive system is almost a certainty on higher-end trims.
BMW planning Chinese recall for engine part issue [w/video]
Mon, 17 Mar 2014After receiving an unspecified number of complaints in China, BMW has reportedly started a "full investigation" into what may be a defective part in its VANOS engine control system. BMW said via a Chinese blog that it would file a recall application with the the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine in China.
BMW has not yet announced how many vehicles will be recalled, or which models the potential recall might cover. We're also curious as to whether the VANOS issue could extend into markets outside of China.
