2006 Black Bmw 325i Brown Leather-navigation-sport Package-low Miles-great Care on 2040-cars
New Lenox, Illinois, United States
This auction is for a black BMW 325i sedan. I bought it for ~$28,000 in January 2010 from a BMW dealership. It was Certified Pre-Owned and came with a Warranty and Maintenance Package. Which means I have put this car in the BMW shop a few times for a full check up and 100% repair (hey, I already paid for the service so might as well use it). Even if I felt any slight strangeness in the way it drove I took it in. The service record is stellar as you'll see. The car is fully paid off. It has all the same features as a typical 3-series BMW, but there are some distinct options and additions to this vehicle that make it ultra premium even within its class. Many of these features contribute to really enhancing the experience. The two occasions where I got a base 3-series loaner at the dealership (for regular maintenance), I hated those vehicles. Some of the most basic things like navigation, sports package, HID headlights make such a difference in this vehicle. THIS CAR IS IN GREAT CONDITION. THE INTERIOR IS IMPECCABLE. I MEAN, I SERIOUSLY HAVEN'T SEEN A BETTER LOOKING 3-SERIES INTERIOR. AND I'M SURE YOU'LL AGREE WHEN YOU SEE IT. THE EXTERIOR IS IN GREAT CONDITION AS WELL AND WITH THE NEW WHEELS I PUT ON, THE CAR JUST LOOK AMAZING. The main features which I believe differentiate this car from a lot of the vehicles you'll see on eBay (which typically don't have any add-on packages) are: Gas tank lock - When your car is locked, your gas tank is locked. When you unlock all car doors, the gas tank also unlocks and then you can push it to open. This is a super neat and safe feature. Two sets of Premium wheels: You get two sets of 4 wheels with this car. The first is four 18" premium alloy wheels, which are currently on the car as seen in the photo. These retail for about $3,500 and typically come with a 330i or 335i. I replaced my original wheels with these. The other set is the original premium 17" wheels that come ONLY with the sport package. They look much nicer than what you see with the typical base sedan. Built-in Navigation: This vehicle comes with built in navigation. The iPhone/iPod connector (which works for both iPhone 4 and 5) integrates directly into the car's computer system and allows you to control your music directly from the car without having to touch your phone. HID Headlights - basically white lights that look super premium. A lot of cars selling on eBay have the basic yellow lights instead Halo/Angel eyes - this is the BMW trademark headlight which has the halo look. A lot of cars selling on eBay don't have this Moving headlights - when you turn your headlights turn as well to increase your field of vision. This reduces your blind spots while turning at night Adaptive rear view mirror - when you drive at night, the rearview mirror dims itself so that cars behind you do not blind you with their headlights Sports package - this is an amazing feature. You get bucket seats with driver side adjustable width and height (i.e., you can have the seat grip your upper body to give you more control for high speeds). You also get a more premium steering wheel with a much bolder look, and of course the steering wheel is adjustable Premium seats - You get premium dakota brown leather seats. This is super premium. Everyone who steps into my car makes a comment about it. When I bought this car, there were only 3 in the whole country listed on Craigslist and eBay that had this interior color. It is very rare Low miles - This is a 2006 vehicle and the mileage is just at 75,877 miles now. So the car has been much less than 10k miles per year. This is much below the average 12-15k miles. That's why I haven't had many maintenance issues with the car There are four main things to point out about this vehicle in terms of the condition:

Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial
Wed, 28 May 2014How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.
Jay Leno puts focus on some retro-inspired BMW bikes
Mon, 28 Jul 2014Jay Leno puts eight wheels on display this week for Jay Leno's Garage from a quartet of retro-inspired BMW motorcycles. They are the creations of husband and wife team Larry and Carol Romestant, who build each one in their home garage.
Larry is a former aerospace engineer who loves BMW bikes, especially the K models. Now, he's combining his passion with a real talent for fabrication to build his own cycles with his wife. With Larry and Carol the only ones working on these projects, it takes them six to nine months to build each one. In addition to the old-school looks, the motorcycles are supposed to be a bit more user friendly than stock. For example, one of them ditches the standard five-speed gearbox in favor of a six-speed unit to be a little more comfy when cruising at high speeds.
Since there isn't enough time to take all four of them for a ride, Jay picks his favorite to test out on the open road. Scroll down to see which one he chooses.
BMW i8's three-cylinder sounds like it's shaping up quite nicely
Tue, 25 Mar 2014We've run across some rather interesting news... or perhaps we should say interesting sounds. The folks from Bimmerpost have scrounged up a short video showing a preproduction BMW i8 running through a few gears in Sport mode at a quick pace, and if you were concerned that the somewhat eco-friendly nature of the upcoming German sports car would neuter its ability to stir the aural senses, fret not.
Judging by the lovely noise coming from the engine compartment of the i8 in the video, BMW's expertise in tuning high-strung, small-bore engines - remember, BMW Motorrad has quite the penchant for well-conceived motorcycle engines - has come through loud and clear. Now, it's worth mentioning that BMW's controversial Active Sound technology will be included with the i8, so the production car may not sound exactly like this version, which is running with the tech disabled. Owners won't have the ability to disable Active Sound on production i8s.
In related news, Bimmerpost reports that BMW will equip the i8 with an external Active Sound Design system to go along with its Pedestrian Protection System. That means those on the outside will likely hear piped engine recordings from the rear and a sort of "howl" from the front in order to warn pedestrians that the otherwise quiet (when running on electricity, that is) car is approaching. It will also feature technology that can stop the car before contacting a pedestrian.
