Bmw 328ic M Sport Convertible Excellent Condition on 2040-cars
Hialeah, Florida, United States
I have a bmw 328IC M sport convertible from 1996 in excellent condition for year it has been a florida car all it's life and as such it is 100% rust free. The only complaint about the car is the clear coat on the hood has started to peel a little and there is a small dent on the passenger side fender. The car was reported as front end damage but both front fenders are original and there is no sign of any previous damage whatsoever ?. It has had some paint in the past but being a Florida car this is inevitable. The roof is manual and is a bit faded but i will try to rectify this before the car goes. picture 8 shows the clear coat peeling and i had a quote of 120 dollars to paint the hood but dont have the spare funds to do it or it would already be done. The spec is as follows
328 2.8 liter straight 6 producing 192bhp Full silver grey leather interior Full power front seats Hellrot red exterior M3 ds1 alloy wheels with 90% goodyear tyres all round M sport front bumper M sport side trims M sport steering wheel M sport front seats Clear euro front indicators Black kidney grilles I have owned this car for just over a year and replaced all the following items in this time frame Front lower control arms and lollipops replaced with up rated M3 versions Both front inner and outer track control arms Front and rear suspension struts Front strut shock mounts Front drop links Rear drop links Front pads Rear pads Spark plugs Drive shaft Flex disc Centre support bearing Oil changes x 2 Air filter All the above items were lemforder or oem originals I am only selling this car as I have purchased another car but I am quite happy to keep the BMW if i dont get the price i want as i own this car outright. clear florida title in hand Transmission oil and filter changed on 04/06/14 Forgot to add that the car is 100% mechanically speaking! and the air con is ice cold |

BMW i8's three-cylinder sounds like it's shaping up quite nicely
Tue, 25 Mar 2014We've run across some rather interesting news... or perhaps we should say interesting sounds. The folks from Bimmerpost have scrounged up a short video showing a preproduction BMW i8 running through a few gears in Sport mode at a quick pace, and if you were concerned that the somewhat eco-friendly nature of the upcoming German sports car would neuter its ability to stir the aural senses, fret not.
Judging by the lovely noise coming from the engine compartment of the i8 in the video, BMW's expertise in tuning high-strung, small-bore engines - remember, BMW Motorrad has quite the penchant for well-conceived motorcycle engines - has come through loud and clear. Now, it's worth mentioning that BMW's controversial Active Sound technology will be included with the i8, so the production car may not sound exactly like this version, which is running with the tech disabled. Owners won't have the ability to disable Active Sound on production i8s.
In related news, Bimmerpost reports that BMW will equip the i8 with an external Active Sound Design system to go along with its Pedestrian Protection System. That means those on the outside will likely hear piped engine recordings from the rear and a sort of "howl" from the front in order to warn pedestrians that the otherwise quiet (when running on electricity, that is) car is approaching. It will also feature technology that can stop the car before contacting a pedestrian.
BMW considering North American engine plant?
Fri, 13 Dec 2013BMW may be set to expand its US operations with a new engine plant, Bloomberg reports. The Bavarian automaker already has its Spartanburg, SC factory which builds the company's X3, X5 and X6 crossovers. According to the story, Mexico is also under consideration for the BMW engine factory, with the report claiming a final decision will be made in 2014.
"Establishing local motor manufacturing abroad is more complex than assembling cars, but it's a logical step for them to eventually start making engines in markets where they're expanding vehicle production," Juergen Pieper, an analyst for Bankhaus Metzler tells Bloomberg. Building engines in the US or Mexico would save BMW from having to ship engines for some of its most popular models across the Atlantic.
BMW, for its part, hasn't said anything concrete. Spokesman Mathias Schmidt is quoted in the story saying, "As part of our long-term growth strategy, we're frequently looking at different countries for possible locations of future production facilities. No decisions have been made yet, though, for an additional plant."
BMW X4 hatches its fastback shape in Shanghai
Fri, 19 Apr 2013The day has finally come for BMW to pull the covers off its X4 Concept at the Shanghai Motor Show. The machine brings few surprises - we've already seen an official image gallery from the German automaker, so its exterior shape was well known - but at least now we get to see it with our own eyes, and with the lenses of our very own cameras.
You can clearly see the fastback roofline in our high-res image gallery above, along with the jacked-up stance that allows BMW to call this machine a Sports Activity Vehicle, which basically means "Crossover" to our friends in Munich. We've seen similar vehicle shapes before, most notably in the form of the BMW X6, but also as far back as the 1980s from the likes of AMC.
We fully expect the transition from concept to production to be pretty seamless, so what we see here is, for the most part, what we'll see on the showroom floor in 2014. Feel free to peruse the press release below, but first, be sure to browse through our live images from Shanghai and let us know what you think.
