See the seller's listing for full details and description of any imperfections.Seller Notes:"Car is sold as-is. This is an awesome car, but there are a few issues. Body has two small rust bubbles on the passenger side rear quarter. They were there when I bought the car 3 years ago and haven't gotten any bigger. There are scratches on the hood that might be able to be buffed out. Hard to take a picture of that though. It does need rear brakes soon. There is a chance that the head gasket is leaking. It was using coolant, but I did find a crack in the radiator which I replaced. I haven't driven it long enough to determine if replacing the radiator fixed the problem. Engine only has 125,000 miles on it per the previous owner."

Awesome silver 330xi with black interior.  Selling because I just bought another car.  Per the previous owner, the engine was replaced when the car had 190,000miles with an engine that had 90,000 miles.  So the engine has around 125,000 miles.  This was my daily driver up until this week.

Things I have done to the car:
Replaced Valve Cover Gasket
Replaced VANOS seals
Replaced lower control arms & ball joints
Powerflex Lower control arm bushings
Both Front Axles
Front pads & rotors (last summer)
Fuel Pump (6 months ago)
Oil separator and hoses (3 months ago)
New Intake boots (rubber hose between MAF and throttle body)
Replaced DISA valve seal
Radiator, tank, hoses (1 month ago)

Tinted Windows
Clear front turns & sides
New headlight lenses
Gloss Black Kidney Grills

Interior is in really good shape.  The drivers seat does have a wear spot on the front bolster, but that is about the only issue.

Issues:
It might have a head gasket leak.  Engine has never been overheated since I've owned it.  Six months ago it started using coolant and I couldn't find a leak.  I suspected the head gasket.  However, I then found a crack in the radiator a month ago, and replaced it along with the coolant tank and all the hoses.  Since I did that it hasn't used any coolant, but I want to be upfront that a head gasket leak is still possible.  There is no external leak and no sign of coolant in oil.

There are 2 small rust bubbles on the passenger rear quarter panel.  They haven't gotten any bigger since when I bought the car 3 years ago.  There are scratches on the hood.  They were there when I bought it, and I never worried about it.  They could possibly be buffed out.

Wheels do have some curb rash. I have a second set of rims with studded tires on them.  I'll sell them with the car for an additional $150.

Car is for sale locally.  I reserve the right to end this auction early if car is sold locally.

BMW i5 could get Toyota-sourced hydrogen power

Tue, 18 Nov 2014

It's starting to feel like the automotive landscape is right on the cusp of a boom in hydrogen-fueled vehicles. After all, the Toyota FCV is nearly ready, Volkswagen is readying a fuel cell concept for this week's Los Angeles Auto Show and Hyundai already sells its Tucson Fuel Cell. The next big name to add to that list might be BMW, as the company's co-development deal with Toyota starts to bear fruit.
According to Autocar, BMW may use a version of the fuel cell system from the Toyota FCV in the future i5. As part of its eco-oriented i sub-brand, the i5 is expected to be a stretched version of the i3 (pictured above) with extra rear legroom and cargo space. It's unclear at the moment whether a battery-powered pure electric powertrain will also be available. If accurate, then the rumor could give the Bavarian brand a counterattack against Mercedes-Benz' planned fuel cell vehicle in 2017.
BMW and Toyota first signed the memorandum of understanding to co-develop fuel cells, lightweight technology and a sports car back in 2012, and they made the arrangement official in late 2013. So far, few details on the progress of the work have been disclosed, but the performance model has been rumored to use a front-engine, all-wheel drive layout with supercapacitors.

BMW M6 amped up for track duty by Risden

Sat, 22 Dec 2012

Risden Engineering is a bit of an unknown, if we're being completely honest - we have yet to report on the company to date, and its corporate website is really an information desert save for the name and a few email addresses. Even the press release that we requested from Risden's contact person is short and vague. That's all pretty much okay with us as long as the shadowy tuners, you know, make good on this sweet-looking BMW M6 racecar thing.
Dubbed the Risden 6R, we're told that the M6 modification will result in a vehicle that is more adept at track work, while still being street-legal. In terms of specifics, we read that a full aero kit will be involved, with one fixed and one retractable rear wing (hard to miss). There are obviously new wheels, and the company has also added a fully adjustable suspension, a four-point roll bar and a new braking system - all while reducing curb weight overall.
Apparently more details are to follow after the 6R's official release in the first quarter of 2013. We wait with bated breath.

BMW Concept 90 Motorcycle debuts at Villa d'Este

Fri, 24 May 2013

The Concept 90 is one of two new vehicles BMW is showing off at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este on the tony shores of Lake Como in Italy. This year is the 90th anniversary of BMW Motorrad and the 40th anniversary of the R 90 S (inset) - the first production motorcycle to come with a front fairing - and BMW has worked with custom bike builder Roland Sands Design to craft a homage to the Daytona Orange boxer from the Seventies.
While following the line of its forbearer, obviously the Concept 90 has been sexed and sleeked up. The bodywork is of hand-worked aluminum, the giant halogen lamp of the 1975 model (which is when Daytona Orange was introduced) has gone LED, and the front engine cover, valve covers, exhaust and wheels have been made with a contrast-cut milling process.
For a finer description of the Concept 90 check out the press release below, or skip the words and go straight to the high-res images above.
