Turbo BMW E30 325I sedan 1989, image 1

Up for sale/auction is my project 1989 E30 BMW 325i. Has a fully built motor with a 325e block, 325i head, and 325eta pistons. Which makes this motor a 2.7L stroker motor. all bearings were replaced with race coated bearings, head and flywheel were machined. flywheel was also lightened in the process. It has a Holset HX35 turbo with a smaller housing to help with turbo lag, Tial blow off valve and Tial waste gate, 3" intecooler piping, oil catch can, MEGASQUIRT ECU, which allows you too tune this car yourself using tuner studio. (Current tune on car has it running at 14PSI) Has a boost controller, Flat shift (not hooked up) launch control (not hooked up) oil pressure gauge, engine temp gauge, and boost gauge are all installed. The interior is in Ok shape, has a few tears in drivers side seat, missing a trim piece on the driver side interior by bottom of door, couple of stains on carpet (could probably be cleaned out with a good cleaner). Always ran Royal purple synthetic oil in it since the rebuild. Premium 91 octane always used, Has oil filter relocation kit, 666 exhaust manifold, wideband O2 sensor, with air fuel ratio gauge. runs good, blows a little smoke after boosting. exterior is in decent shape, hood is spray painted black by previous owner of the e30 (before turbo) the clear coat is peeling on the roof and starting on a small spot on trunk deck lid. car was repainted at some point in its life I have no answer to why. Every bushing was replaced when the turbo motor went in roughly 15k miles ago. sub frame bushings, trailing arm bushings, sway bar links, diff bushings, control arms, wheel bearings, tie rods, brake pads. new clutch master cylinder, brake master cylinder, clutch slave cylinder. a new clutch was installed rated for 550tq from clutch net 3000 miles ago. all the suspension was replaced with ground control coilovers, koni shocks (adjustable rear dampers) height adj on all 4 corners. shock tower bushings replaced in front and rear. has been a fun car, runs and drives fine. I have just lost time and money to finish the project. (OCAL PICK UP, BUYER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SHIPPING ARANGMENTS AND FEES) 84003 UTAH. send message for additional info on car.

BMW M5 turns 30, celebrates sideways

Sun, 13 Apr 2014

BMW has a secret, and it's not telling. The brand's M Power blog is celebrating the 30th anniversary of the M5 and is taking a look back at previous models of its Autobahn-storming sedan, but it says that it will end "with a surprise." The celebration kicks off with a short video showing the latest M5 making some smoky donuts.
The original M5 debuted in 1985 and was the company's most expensive model at the time. Still, it packed a 3.5-liter six-cylinder generating a claimed 282 horsepower (286 PS), which was rather potent in its day. The company touted it as the world's fastest production four-door sports sedan at the time.
BMW won't reveal the surprise until it has chronicled all five generations of the M5, but it wouldn't be shocking to see an anniversary edition model appear sometime later this year. Scroll down to check out the video of the muscle sedan celebrating its birthday the only way it knows how.

BMW 6 Series Convertible gets a little work done for 2015

Sat, 02 Aug 2014

Truth be told, I've never really found the modern BMW 6 Series to be a particularly attractive car, in Coupe, Convertible, or sedan Gran Coupe forms. This current generation certainly looks a whole lot better than the Bangle-fied Six that came before it to my eyes, but on the whole, I find much of the car's design to be fussy and awkward. There's a new 6 Series on the way, scheduled to arrive sometime in 2017 or 2018, but to hold us over until then, BMW is freshening its current range, as evidenced by this convertible prototype our trusty spies recently caught testing.
Will the changes to the current 6 Series be an improvement? Perhaps. Up front, there are restyled headlamps and a new front bumper, and at the rear, BMW has redesigned the LED taillamps to bring them more in line with the rest of the company's offerings. Aside from those modest tweaks, we don't expect much more to change on the Big Six - the interior will likely carry over with some minor tweaks (or new colors), and it's possible the powertrains could be massaged gently for gains in either power, efficiency, or both.
Whether you think this new look is pretty or not, this freshened 6 Series will likely debut sometime next year, while BMW's engineers and designers craft the all-new version. See it from several angles in our gallery, above.

BMW confirms new Mexican plant

Thu, 03 Jul 2014

After over a year of speculation, BMW is finally officially announcing that it's building a factory in Mexico. The new plant will cost the German automaker roughly $1 billion US and will have a capacity of about 150,000 vehicles a year when complete. However, production won't begin there until 2019.
The new factory is being built near the city of San Luis Potosí, Mexico, with plans to employ about 1,500 people. Unfortunately, BMW is still mum about which models it's producing south of the border. Earlier rumors indicated the possibility of the 3 Series, 1 Series and maybe even Mini models there.
BMW says Mexico's multiple free trade agreements are a major factor in the choice of location of the plant. They make it possible for the automaker to ship models more cheaply to North America, parts of South America and the European Union. "The Americas are among the most important growth markets for the BMW Group. We are continuing our strategy of 'production follows the market,'" said Harald Krueger, the board's head of production, in the company's official announcement.
