2008 BMW 528i CPO and BMW North America Executive Vehicle

Thanks for stopping by my auction- I have owned this BMW 528i since 2009, where it was bought with 9k miles- I have put the last 90k miles on this car in about 4 years. This car was purchased from Century West, North Hollywood as a BMW North America Executive CPO vehicle- since, I have added the last 90k miles in all freeway driving, sustained by the fact brakes are still 30k miles from ever being due.

The car was originally $53.2k- includes premium, sport, ski bag and heated front seats. Car has always been garaged, full dealer maintained and professionally detailed. Here's the build:

Premium  $2400: universal garage door opener, auto-dim interior/exterior mirrors, ambiance lighting
Sport- $2900: Sport suspension, active roll stabilization, sport leather steering wheel, 18" wheels, space saver tire, shadowline exterior trim, multi contour seats
Split fold rear seat $475
Heated front seats $500
Park distance control $700
Xenon $800
TOTAL $53,200.

Full disclosure: The good- all maintenance up to date, all dealer serviced (except OEM battery), new wipers at 50k, 4 new tires, just waxed, very clean. Everything works, AC cold, cruise, power windows/mirrors/door locks/seats, PDC, all lights, fold mirrors, etc. 2 keys.  All records touch up paint. No accidents or body work.
The reality- scrape on front facia- bottom right, quarter sized dent in hood (from rock), spare tire is flat, small indent on roof.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

2014 BMW 328d xDrive Sport Wagon

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

There's a running joke among auto writers that the perfect car would be a diesel-powered, rear-drive wagon with manual transmission and no power accessories whatsoever. It would only be available in brown and would somehow be as fun to drive as a Mazda MX-5 Miata. Makes total sense, right?
Realistically, no manufacturer is ever going to completely fulfill our wishes, no matter how much we beg, plead, kick and scream about our dream car that most of us would actually never buy. The best we can do is hope for a vehicle that mixes some aspects of this ideal journalist's car. And in today's world, that vehicle just might be the BMW 328d xDrive Sport Wagon.
No, it's not available with a manual gearbox, and power can only be sent through an xDrive all-wheel-drive system. It's also not available in brown (although both Mojave Metallic and Sparkling Bronze Metallic are acceptable stand-ins), but it ticks the two main boxes of being a diesel-powered wagon, one of only a couple such models in the United States.

BMW M4 to debut in Detroit, lose manual transmission

Wed, 21 Aug 2013

BMW took the wraps off its M4 Concept at Pebble Beach last weekend, and many speculated that the highly anticipated production version of the sleek new two-door sports coupe would debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show later this year. But a well-placed source tell Autoblog that the E92 M3's successor won't arrive in Southern California this November. Instead, the German automaker will wait until the Detroit Auto Show in January for its first official reveal.
An all-new 3.0-liter inline-six with twin turbochargers is expected under the hood, and it should provide about the same horsepower as the current 4.0-liter V8 (rated at 414 horsepower), but with much more torque that arrives lower on the tachometer. The lightweight engine is said to have an impressively high redline, which is unusual for a turbocharged engine.
Unfortunately, Save the Manuals members aren't going to like this next bit of news. After four generations of three-pedal M3 models, our source says the upcoming F82 M4 will arrive with a dual-clutch transmission (DCT) as standard equipment - with no manual option - just like the latest iteration of the track-ready Porsche GT3 (few have complained about the automaker's PDK after driving the latest sports car from Stuttgart). In exchange for some moans, groans and gripes from enthusiasts, BMW's DCT mounted aft of the M4's inline-six will provide quicker acceleration and improved fuel economy.

BMW and Mini shuffle NA management, McDowell to retire

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

BMW and Mini recently shuffled top personnel in their design departments, and now BMW of North America will reorganize its management to improve customer relations. Peter Miles (pictured), currently the executive vice president of operations, will take a newly created position, vice president of sales channel development and customer relations, while Jim McDowell, vice president of Mini of the Americas, will retire.
Chris Koenders, president of BMW Group Netherlands, will move take Miles' spot as executive vice president of operations. David Duncan, western region vice president, will take McDowell's job as vice president of Mini of the Americas. Finishing off the management switcharoo is Peter Witt, who will move from his current position as Managing Director of BMW Sweden to take Duncan's job as western region vice president.
"We are intensifying our customer-driven focus and these changes will influence the entire organization to continue improving all phases of the customer journey from prospect to purchase and throughout the ownership cycle," says Ludwig Willisch, president and CEO of BMW NA.
