Up for sale is my beautiful 2000 BMW 740iL, that up until a month(1-20-13) ago was running perfect and then as my wife and I were leaving church it for some unknown reason began to overheat and upon parking the vehicle in a nearby gas station we couldn't get it to start again. We called AAA and had it towed to our area BMW repair facility and went home. On the following Monday we both went to BMW just to find that the engine may have suffered some damage and may require a complete overhaul, facing that news we were already debating over the purchase of a new car purchase and whether or not we would be purchasing another BMW or another Mercedes-Benz and already having a beautiful black Mercedes CLS550 we were so drawn to the sleek redesign of the 2012 BMW 740 in black of course so we made the deal and purchased a newer 2012 BMW 740. Days following the close of the deal we received a call from BMW regarding the repair of the of our 2000 BMW 740iL and that's when I realized that the 2000 BMW 740iL wasn't considered in the trade. So here it is now on Ebay for sale for either a parts vehicle or a repair vehicle. It was always maintained by BMW and pretty clean for a 2000 model, it comes with 18 inch factory BMW M parallel wheels and tires that gave it a sleek yet sporty look and stance, it came with every option available however the factory navigation system was stolen while on the dealerships lot and they did compensate me big time with a brand set factory take off 21inch BMW 2 piece wheels and new tires that I had them install on my car last week. The service tech did also inform me that the engine is not locked up nor does it have water in the oil but that it was just a recommendation that it have the engine overhauled because of the overheating issue. This car is being offered or sold AS IS/ WHERE IS with a NO RESERVE so if you have any questions or concerns please feel free to call or text me directly @ 1(318)572-9301 or just send me an email. my name is Brian.

BMW working with Dainese to put airbags in motorcycle suits [w/video]
Fri, 19 Jul 2013Addressing the safety concerns of its customers, BMW Motorrad is co-developing a rider suit with Dainese to feature something that's much more common in automobiles: airbags.
Starting with Dainese's D-air Protect System, which is made up of inflatable protectors that deploy in 15 milliseconds, the two companies will integrate the technology into a BMW Motorrad brand, one-piece racing suit, the DoubleR RaceAir. Later a different, street-oriented airbag system that can be retrofitted to bikes will be offered to Beemer riders.
The DoubleR RaceAir is expected to be presented at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan in November, after all required crash testing has been completed.
BMW M2, we're happy to see you
Wed, 03 Sep 2014I recently spent some time behind the wheel of the BMW M235i and, well, I didn't love it. Sure, it's a great car, but I just didn't truly bond with it the way I have with previous M cars. What I had hoped for was a proper successor to the 1 Series M Coupe I fell in love with in 2011, but what I got instead was just a sporty 2 Series that didn't exactly stir my emotions in the same way.
But now there's this: the honest-to-goodness BMW M2. Previously, spy photographers captured a development-mule M2, but this is the real thing, in its full prototype body. Notice the aggressive front fascia that mimics the M3/M4, the more more robust wheel/tire package, and the M-standard quad exhaust outlets around back. This thing sure does look the business.
Details are slim as of this writing, but rumors suggest power will come from BMW's now-ubiquitous N55 turbocharged 3.0-liter six, with output somewhere in the 360- to 380-horspower range. The seven-speed M dual-clutch transmission seems like a good fit here, too. As does a six-speed manual transmission (here's hoping).
Hamann BMW M6 Mirror can now cash the checks its body writes
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Anyone remember the Hamann Mirror? Need a refresher? The Mirror is German tuning company Hamann's idea of a BMW M6. It was shown at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show as an M6 Gran Coupe, sporting a ridiculous paint job and some meaty, multi-spoke 21-inch wheels.
Consider this car the Mirror Mark 2. Based on the M6 Coupe, Hamann has applied a similar visual theme, using the same 21-inch wheels from 2013. Whereas the Gran Coupe rode around with a stock powertrain, though, there's been no such restraint with the two-door Mirror. A fine 620 horsepower is available from the 4.4-liter, biturbocharged V8, an increase of 60 horsepower. Torque is up as well, from 501 pound-feet to a whopping 560, meaning this M6 has speed to match its looks. Hamann claims the Mirror's newfound grunt allows it to hit 62 miles per hour faster than the standard M6 (we'd certainly hope so), although it won't mention a specific number.
The suspension, meanwhile, has been dropped 1.37 inches, or about a third of an inch lower than the Frankfurt Mirror. That drop is complemented by the Mirror's bodywork, including the exposed, carbon fiber hood and the flared fenders, which can now accommodate the enormous 305/25 rear rubber. Hamann has also paid some attention to the front and rear aerodynamics.
