Best Value 7 series. Car has 193,000 miles and is a very clean car for miles. Has NAV /GPS and heated seats with the upgraded factory DSP stereo. I have replaced hood emblem and wheel emblems since the pictures. Car is sold as is. It was running great when purchased but has what I am told to be a clogged injector. Compression is good and motor starts but wont run. Timing is not the issue.It throws out two codes one for engine misfire and the second for a bad coil (which is still a possibility). I have no time to work on this vehicle and I must sell it. Exterior has a cracked fog light and a few dings but excellent shiny black for miles and interior is very good for the age and miles. Typical issues for year Nav GPS has some lines but works and some pixels out but mostly readable. This car should be fixed easily and put back on the road and will be a bargain. 2014 BMW 2 Series earns IIHS Top Safety Pick+ [w/video]
Thu, 26 Jun 2014The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety has just certified its latest Top Safety Pick+, honoring the all-new BMW 2 Series with the coveted rating.
IIHS cited the 2 Series' crash test ratings, which were rated as "Good" in the small overlap, moderate overlap, side and rollover. In the tricky small overlap test, the crash test dummy was at a "low risk of any significant injury."
The Institute was also complimentary of the 2 Series' head restraint system and its collision prevention system, including forward collision warning and City Braking.
BMW 3 Series eDrive plug-in hybrid spotted in development
Thu, 06 Feb 2014BMW has shown its commitment to the development of hybrid and electric powertrains in recent years, with vehicles in its ActiveHybrid range, electrics like its BMW ActiveE and range-extended EVs like the i3 and i8. Plug-in hybrid-electric vehicles are clearly top-of-mind for the German automaker. We saw spy shots of the PHEV BMW X5 eDrive prototypes about a year ago, and now our shooters have come through with a 3 Series-bodied version of the technology, as well.
In addition to the obvious "Hybrid Test Vehicle" designation you see on the bodysides of this 3er, we also note that a second 'fuel cap' - presumably hiding the electric charge point - is in evidence. It's a fairly safe assumption that this 3 Series is making use of the same turbocharged four-cylinder engine and electric motor configuration that the X5 eDrive used. In the case of the X5, that meant a top electric-only speed of 75 miles per hour, with a range of just under 20 miles, and 0-62 mph in under 7 seconds. With considerably lighter, compact sedan bodywork clothing the PHEV drivetrain, we'd guess that the 3 Series eDrive could improve on each of those numbers.
BMW X5 driver repeatedly fails to understand big rig braking distances
Fri, 19 Sep 2014Nobody should be shocked that a big, heavy vehicle like a semi truck takes a longer distance to stop than the average passenger car; it's just basic physics. However, this BMW X5 driver seemingly has a major problem grasping the concept, and it results in some serious damage to the back of his SUV.
The whole incident is very confusing to watch. The BMW doesn't even seem to have a reason to slow down before the semi slams into the back of it at fairly high speed. But to make the situation even weirder, the crashes just keep happening again and again.
To give the BMW driver a little credit, he appears amazingly calm when surveying the damage afterward. But you have to wonder what this guy was thinking when trying a harebrained move like this. Check out the video to watch the carnage unfold.
