2001 Bmw 740i Base Sedan 4-door 4.4l 87,646 Miles No Reserve on 2040-cars
Allison Park, Pennsylvania, United States
Thank you for viewing this action! This BMW 740i is a very nice 2 owner car and comes fully equipped with the sport package for 2001. This car is a solid running 7 series from the very elegant years of pre- I drive models. The biggest benefit in addition to its handmade qualities is that these models need far less money to maintain due to the lack of computer systems and higher ticket maintenance items. The suspension is tight and sporting and the exhaust sound is excellent all while wrapping you in true European luxury inside. All comfort and convenience items work as they should and the car is on a free and clear title. The carpets are stain and sent free as well as the headliner being in the same condition. This was a non-smoker's vehicle and the rear seating was only used on occasion. The current owners have had the exhaust replaced in 2011 and the BMW recommended tires have great tread life left all the way around. All services are up-to-date, the wood is in incredible and crack free condition, evidencing it's pampered garaged life and all the leather is in excellent and rip/ stain free condition. If you are looking for a solid 7-series at wholesale pricing then this is your car. Similar ones with condition and mileage are selling for $10.900.00 and Higher on Ebay. We have pointed out the defects below, and provided the pictures which are common for a 12 year old + vehicle, but in no way should these minor items diminish from the overall value of this great car. Our local shop who works on BMW, Mercedes and Audi estimates these minor repairs at very minimal pricing to replace the glove box handle, front Chrome grill inset and seat switch . We are selling this vehicle for the estate of this family. The vehicle was used by the current owner for a 20 mile commute between their business locations in Pittsburgh. Hence, there may be a small ding and we see evidence of slight curb rash on one wheel. This car was used and driven by a wealthy 50 year old female and not abused. The family has downsized their fleet of five cars and this is one of the cars being sold. This was not abused and the car is in fantastic shape. The new owner can confidently drive this vehicle for a fraction of its original MSRP!
Please feel free to inspect the vehicle before the end of the auction. Buyer is responsible for all shipping. Payment may be received via PayPal or wire transfer. Please email us with any questions.
This car runs fantastic and is priced to move fast.
Issues of note: The driver's seat control knob is not connected but comes with the vehicle. The glove box latch also is not attached but comes with the car.

Bunny couldn't out hop a BMW M3 on-track
Mon, 15 Jul 2013Driving a car is a dangerous hobby, and not just because of other drivers or poor roads. Sometimes, it seems like even the wildlife is out to get you, as evidenced here, here, here, here and here. Now, we can add one more unfortunate car-versus-animal encounter to the tally.
Perhaps believing that this bright orange BMW M3 GTS was a very fast, very loud carrot, an unfortunate bunny leaped into its windshield in a brutal accident at a Polish racetrack. Considering the M3's speed at the time, 89 miles per hour, the passengers are lucky to be okay. Obviously, Bugs didn't make it.
The BMW isn't in such great shape, though. The windshield is in a bit of a state, with safety glass sprayed all over the passenger side of the cabin. There doesn't appear to be any sheetmetal damage, at least from what we can tell from the video. Although there isn't any blood, the hit is really hard. The initial point of impact is at 0:57. Check out the video below.
BMW X1 testing is underway
Thu, 10 Oct 2013It was just a few weeks ago that we got our first glimpse of the next-generation BMW X1, riding around on a flatbed. Now, we have the first batch of images of the small crossover moving under its own steam.
Like the previous round of photos, BMW's psychedelic camouflage is on hand to obscure sheetmetal details, but our intrepid spies still managed to discover a bit about the new X1. It's internal code-name will be F48, and it will sit on the same platform as the next-generation Mini and the BMW 1 Series GT. And for those keeping track at home, those are both front-drive platforms.
The reasoning for the X1's new layout, though, is understandable. Front-wheel drive is more space efficient and affordable, which are kind of big deals to customers. The next X1 won't be limited to its front wheels, though, as BMW's xDrive system is almost a certainty on higher-end trims.
BMW M4 Concept bows, takes handoff from M3 Coupe
Thu, 15 Aug 2013Remember how, when the first BMW M4 Concept images leaked earlier today, we told you the official information would be coming later this evening? Well, scratch that. The whole kit and caboodle is now online, meaning all the official details are below, as well as a full gallery of high-res images above.
The replacement for the M3 Coupe, the Concept M4 Coupe shares a number of styling similarities with its dearly departed forbearer. To us, it's kind of like a mishmash of greatest hits from the new 4 Series and the old M3. The 4 Series headlights have grown on us, and the side grilles, which are part of BMW's Air Curtain and Air Breather system, are functional.
The power dome in the hood is smaller than on the M3, but is of a similar shape, while the rear diffuser and exhaust treatment look like they're lifted straight from the old car, aside from being finished in carbon fiber. Speaking of which, the carbon fiber roof sports a new touch, a cool BMW M tri-color that runs the length of the roof on the driver's side. The 20-inch M alloy wheels come in a twin five-spoke design, which has sort of become a calling card of BMW's M cars in recent years. Hiding behind those meaty wheels are M's carbon-ceramic brakes.
