Hello!
Up for sale is my uncle's 2001 BMW 740il. My uncle has retired and moved to Europe so he left me the task of selling his car for him. He is the original owner of the car. The BMW currently has 95,580 miles on it. I have a clean NYS title in hand. The NYS inspection is still good until 08/2014.
The BMW has always been dealer maintained and adult driven. Never smoked in and no pets. The exterior color is metallic silver and the leather interior is black. The black leather interior is in immaculate condition! It has a automatic transmission that shifts nice and smooth. The transmission also has manual or standard settings. The 4.4 liter, 8 cylinder engine still pulls strong! The BMW is fully loaded with power everything. I have listed some of the standard and special options below:

>FACTORY WIDE SCREEN NAVIGATION
>POWER GLASS SUNROOF
>POWER LEATHER SEATS (HEATED / 3 DRIVER MEMORY FEATURES)
>MOTOROLA CELL PHONE READY AND WORKING!
>POWER TILT/TELESCOPIC ADJUSTABLE STEERING WHEEL WITH MULTIPLE CONTROLS
>PREMIUM SOUND SYSTEM WITH 6 CD PLAYER
>XENON HEADLIGHTS WITH HEADLIGHT WASHERS
>FACTORY FOG LIGHTS
>DUAL DIGITAL CLIMATE CONTROL
>ABS BRAKES / DSC (DYNAMIC STABILITY CONTROL)
>POWER WINDOWS / DOOR LOCKS / HEATED MIRRORS
>FULL SIZE MATCHING SPARE TIRE
>FACTORY ALARM SYSTEM

I have 4 keys for the BMW and all the books and manuals. I also have the original window sticker. The BMW also comes with the original Motorola cell phone that still works! The Cooper Touring tires have approx. 3000 miles on them with about 95% tread remaining. Oil changes where performed every 5000 miles with BMW synthetic oil. Paint and body are in great shape and the paint still shines like brand new. The wheels are spotless with absolutely no curb rash or scratches! Front and rear bumpers are spotless! The car has absolutely NO accidents. My uncle is looking to get $8900 or best offer. Please contact me at 516 398 1204 with any questions. Cheers!

BMW dishes on 'lightweight' 2014 M4

Mon, 15 Jul 2013

BMW's M cars are not what we'd call featherweights. Sure, the big, bruising twin-turbocharged V8s deliver a lot of power, but the fact of the matter is that more weight often equates to less fun.
Which is why we're so excited over a recent sit-down the blokes at Top Gear had with BMW's product manager for small and medium cars, Matt Collins. The chat led to talk of the M3 Coupe replacing M4. Collins confirmed that, yes, the new M4 would be turbocharged. The new engine will also be a six-cylinder, which should make purists happy.
"What we'd like is more focus on lightweight engineering." -Matt Collins

Why BMW doesn't plan to integrate Apple's iOS in the Car

Wed, 12 Jun 2013

While watching Apple introduce iOS in the Car during its WWDC keynote on Monday, we wondered how automakers, even the 14 who've already signed up to integrate this new in-car functionality of iOS 7, will feel about having the Cupertino company's mobile operating system supplant their own in-car systems. After all, some OEMs like Ford, General Motors and many luxury automakers have sunk millions of dollars into developing their own advanced infotainment, navigation and communication platforms like MyFord Touch, CUE and older systems like iDrive.
One automaker has now spoken up. A BMW spokeperson was interviewed by someone in the news department of British auto dealer group Arnold Clark and confirmed that the company would not be getting in line to integrate iOS in the Car anytime soon. The reason, as we suspected, is that BMW believes its own products developed over the last decade are both plenty good and already so deeply integrated with other systems of the car that, as told to Arnold Clark, "it would not be that straightforward to start changing all of the architecture of a car as has been implied [by Apple]."
While BMW isn't interested in spending more money to integrate Apple's services and functionality over its own, it has spent a good bit already to integrate iPhone functionality in its cars, including the relatively rare ability to support iPod Out and display Apple's own interface on Mini models with the optional Mini Connected feature, as well as committing to integrate Siri 'Eyes Free' functionality.

BMW and Mini shuffle NA management, McDowell to retire

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

BMW and Mini recently shuffled top personnel in their design departments, and now BMW of North America will reorganize its management to improve customer relations. Peter Miles (pictured), currently the executive vice president of operations, will take a newly created position, vice president of sales channel development and customer relations, while Jim McDowell, vice president of Mini of the Americas, will retire.
Chris Koenders, president of BMW Group Netherlands, will move take Miles' spot as executive vice president of operations. David Duncan, western region vice president, will take McDowell's job as vice president of Mini of the Americas. Finishing off the management switcharoo is Peter Witt, who will move from his current position as Managing Director of BMW Sweden to take Duncan's job as western region vice president.
"We are intensifying our customer-driven focus and these changes will influence the entire organization to continue improving all phases of the customer journey from prospect to purchase and throughout the ownership cycle," says Ludwig Willisch, president and CEO of BMW NA.
