Great car however at this time, DOES NOT RUN. I left the windows down one day, it got wet inside and I can't figure out what's wrong.

Clear title. New windshield and a few other things fixed after I got it on ebay 2 years ago in order to get it to pass inspection.

Two new front tires, a new windshield etc..I have a bunch of extra parts, )(cluster, relays/modules/computers) I got on ebay trying to figure out what the problem is. Again, it needs front end fixed once you get it running. (apparently, these cars are so heavy, they all have a front end issue that needs to be addressed at some point. It wasn't in an accident or drove over anything to cause this problem, it's the nature of the beast.)

This is a super car and I wanted to keep it because it is now a classic and amazingly it is evaluated at $5300 according to the tax bill that just arrived. The interior is somewhat taken apart from trying to figure out what's wrong with it. (I checked the fusable links as recommended online forums) I think it might be a short circuit. The battery is probably dead at this point, not sure if it will take a charge because it's been sitting for over a year.

SOLD AS IS WHERE IS, NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. CLEAR TITLE! Has a lot of miles but the body is in good shape and worth fixing/restoring. I have my eye on another project so will let this one go due to lack of space. YOU MUST TOW IT AWAY. I thought it might be the ANTI-THEFT relay? But not sure what's keeping it from starting. A short circuit? I took out the OBC and got another to try but that didn't solve the problem. The interior is somewhat taken apart. (see pictures) I also found out it may be as simple as the glove compartment light!??????????! But can't find a replacement. The worst thing I can think of as far as condition is, the front drivers seat is BEAT! But you don't feel it when your behind the wheel. It had a seat cover but I threw it away because I didn't like the feel of it.

The engine and transmission were perfect when it was running. Died in my driveway due to leaving the windows down and it flash rained, I ran out to start it to put up the windows and that's when it went down. Hasn't moved since.

if you love BMW's, here's one to play with! Top of the line back in 1992. Now a CLASSIC! 3 more years and it's ANTIQUE! Beautiful automobile otherwise.... If no one is interested, I will keep on trying to figure it out because I know it will be worth it in the end.

Thanks for your interest.

BMW unveils 2016 X5 M and X6 M super CUVs

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

The second-generation BMW X5 M and X6 M have officially made their arrival for the speed-obsessed, crossover-loving masses that aren't willing to turn to Mercedes-AMG or Land Rover Special Operations.
While the new models retain their 4.4-liter, twin-turbocharged V8s, power has increased from 555 horsepower to 567 ponies. Torque is up more significantly, climbing from 500 pound-feet to 553 pound-feet. The extra twist is slightly less accessible, with peak grunt arriving between 2,200 and 5,000 rpm, rather than the earlier model's 1,500 to 5,650. Still, we'll take the ten percent increase in torque as a net win.
The big powertrain switch sees the old X5/6 M's six-speed automatic replaced with an eight-speed Steptronic transmission from BMW M. This new gearbox feeds power to an xDrive all-wheel-drive system that can variably shuffle up to 100 percent of power to either axle. In conjunction with the force-induced thumper under the hood, this powertrain arrangement allows both M models to hit 60 miles per hour in just four seconds. That's a mightily impressive stat in a 5,000-plus-pound vehicle.

2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe

Wed, 08 May 2013

Is This A Great Idea For An M Model?
The BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe is already an issue of large debate. The essential business case for the car is that it's more distinctive than a straight 5 or 6 Series, and has much of the sense of space and luxury of a 7 Series. It has the wheelbase of a 5 Series, the relative width of a 6 Series, and an exterior length close to the standard wheelbase 7 Series. And, as we reported in our drive of the 640i Gran Coupe in May 2012, the 6 Series Gran Coupe costs pretty much the same as the 7 Series, engine trim for engine trim. The sedan (coupe?) is therefore a proposal clearly meant for an extremely particular clientele. There's no news yet on how well exactly the 6 Series Gran Coupe is selling in its chief markets, but we are curious. The Germans frequently tend not to break out their sales figures that way, mixing sales of the Gran Coupe in with the two-door 6 Series.
And, so, we have now arrived at the inevitable point where the M version must be introduced. Say howdy to the $113,000 2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe (actually $115,195 for starters with all of the taxes added). That's $4,650 more than the also highly priced M6 coupe. Let the vehement debates begin. The upcoming 2014 Audi RS7 should be priced right at this level as well, and the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG (perhaps with an S iteration in the next allotment we get Stateside) should go for roughly the same.

Next-generation BMW 5 Series spied in Touring trim

Wed, 10 Jul 2013

It almost seems as if BMW just started selling the current-generation 5 Series, yet one of our spy photographers has already spotted a next-generation prototype in Touring form. Little is known about the luxury wagon in this early stage of testing, but it is expected to weigh much less than the current car, which, in 528i Touring guise with an automatic transmission, tips the scale at over 3,800 pounds. It is also expected to have the latest in driver-assistance technology. Despite the weight savings, and judging from the photos, it looks to have proportions similar to the current car, but don't expect the makeshift headlight and taillight clusters to make it onto the production model.
The crucial question for potential Touring customers in the United States is whether BMW will do the unexpected and import it here. The company's track record indicates that it will be sold in Rest of World markets only, but we're hoping that the next 5 Series will end the Touring's U.S. hiatus (and the 5 Series Gran Turismo's reign), which began in 2003 at the end of the E39 generation.
