This is a CLASSY and MANLY FAST car: BLACK ext BLACK interior (very good condition LEATHER) with great after-market RIMS.

TRUE SPORTS PACKAGE (read below about several features that prove this is true).
To the best of my knowledge, mechanically it is in very good condition. The car needs, though a little TLC (see below).

I bought it used in April 2010, with 133287 miles. I rarely drive this car, as I drive a 2002 Touring BMW everyday (I need the wagon's larger "trunk" capacity for work tools), which is why it is up for sale now. VIN WBAGG83441DN81839 CLEAN and CLEAR TITLE.
Hard-to-find combination: true sports package with black exterior AND black leather interior.
As far as I know, both previous (and probably only) owners lived in California. So this 740i has Not been exposed to snowed or salted roads.
It will soon be due for an oil change, I believe, as per the on-board computer.
I am Not a car professional or connoisseur, so the following is not an expert's description of the car. It is my honest take on this car, to the best of my ability.
Everything I know that needs work is listed under CONS
Not mechanical issues that I know of, but several minor issues (see CONS below)
I do not exaggerate or lie with the PROS.

PROS I'd like to mention
- engine runs smoothly and accelerates like thunder (seriously)
- beautiful after-market rims
- black leather interior, in very good condition
- true Sports Package (three-spoke steering wheel, extending thigh bolsters, stronger side bolstering...)
- new battery placed in Febr 2013
- new brakes (rotors and pads) in all four wheels in March 2013
- full replacement of brake fluid in March 2013
- GPS Navigation System that works (maps need to be updated)
- BMW 6-CD changer in good working condition
- sound system sounds really good (can't tell what brand or type); to me it sounds like movie-surround system
- thrust rod bushings replaced in June 2011
- working A/C
- tinted windows
- custom-made wind-shield sun-shade
- replaced two window regulators in 2011

CONS I am aware of
- instrument cluster shows ABS, BRAKE "on" all the time, speedometer does not operate (RPM, MPG, FUEL and TEMP readers do work);
odometer display froze at above said mileage, see picture (after odometer display froze I've driven it only for about 400 miles, this is my guess); BMW-computer reading said back when display froze that brakes and ABS are OK, the issue is the cluster's warning lights (odometer and speedomer issues are part of the same cluster; from what I understood, fixing one thing will fixeverything in the instrument cluster)
- needs two new window regulators (regulator only, not motor)
- passenger-side door both locks won't respond to four-door lock
- car-key does not act as door remote (not sure the reason)
- needs two new (front) tires (see picture)
- BMW logo at hood's front is fading
- "ceiling" fabric came undone above back seats
- wind-shield rubber frame over-dried by FL sun (see picture)
- needs new license-plate light bulb

The car cannot be picked up by the new owner until payment funds have been cleared or have been verified by the bank.
The car is being sold "AS IS" and with no warranty. NO RETURNS OR REFUNDS.

2014 BMW 328d xDrive Sport Wagon

Fri, 11 Apr 2014

There's a running joke among auto writers that the perfect car would be a diesel-powered, rear-drive wagon with manual transmission and no power accessories whatsoever. It would only be available in brown and would somehow be as fun to drive as a Mazda MX-5 Miata. Makes total sense, right?
Realistically, no manufacturer is ever going to completely fulfill our wishes, no matter how much we beg, plead, kick and scream about our dream car that most of us would actually never buy. The best we can do is hope for a vehicle that mixes some aspects of this ideal journalist's car. And in today's world, that vehicle just might be the BMW 328d xDrive Sport Wagon.
No, it's not available with a manual gearbox, and power can only be sent through an xDrive all-wheel-drive system. It's also not available in brown (although both Mojave Metallic and Sparkling Bronze Metallic are acceptable stand-ins), but it ticks the two main boxes of being a diesel-powered wagon, one of only a couple such models in the United States.

2014 BMW 740Ld xDrive does diesel in a big way

Thu, 06 Feb 2014

Slowly but surely, BMW is expanding its lineup of diesel-powered models here in the United States. In addition to the 328d sedan and wagon, 535d sedan and X5 xDrive35d crossover, we now have this, the BMW 740Ld xDrive (not to mention the refreshed 2015 X3 xDrive28d that also makes its debut here in Chicago). As its name - and the photos above - suggest, this means BMW is offering diesel power in its flagship, long-wheelbase 7 Series sedan, set to directly compete with the likes of the excellent Audi A8 TDI.
Under the hood is BMW's familiar 3.0-liter turbocharged diesel inline-six, delivering 255 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque, all of which is sent to the road via the company's xDrive all-wheel-drive system and ZF eight-speed automatic transmission. That torque thrust is available straight away from 1,500 rpm, and BMW says the 740Ld xDrive will sprint to 60 miles per hour in a very respectable 6.1 seconds. Official fuel economy estimates haven't been released yet, but we expect the car to net highway fuel economy ratings in the mid-30 range.
The 740Ld xDrive arrives in BMW showrooms this spring, priced from $82,500, not including $925 for destination. We're pretty stoked to drive it. But in the meantime, have a look at fresh images of the big sedan live from the Chicago Auto Show, above.

BMW performance engineering boss wants an M7

Mon, 16 Dec 2013

Audi has the S8, Mercedes has the S63 AMG and Jaguar has the XJR, but BMW has always held that an M7 wasn't justified, leaving its associated Alpina line to tackle that market with the B7 (pictured). The chief engineer at the M division, however, feels otherwise.
Speaking to Autocar, the BMW M development chief Albert Biermann indicated that he would like to see the M division do a performance version of the 7 Series to compete with the above-mentioned models, but that there are no current plans in place to do so. Neither did he specify what kind of engine it would have, or if it would be badged, for that matter, as an M7 or an M Performance model.
The latter is the approach which the M division is reportedly taking with performance versions of BMW crossovers beyond the X5 M and X6 M, such as the X3 and upcoming X4. The division is also said to be developing a performance-tuned xDrive system to compete with AMG's new all-wheel-drive models, as well as a potential M3 GT to join the new M3 sedan and M4 coupe with a slantback bodystyle.
