PRICE REDUCED!!!

I have too many cars on my driveway and just got a new Benz so I am selling some of my toys. Up for sale is a 1988 BMW 735i with a 5 spd manual transmission. All original. Only 200 ever imported into North America!

This car was plated and insured on the road up until I took the insurance of it a week ago. The emissions is still good so all you need is a safety to transfer into your name.

Black on Black. Electric windows, heated and electric seats, moonroof, upgraded sound system, and more. Leather seats are in mint condition, no rips or tears. I am a non smoker.

Brand new:

-heater blower motor

- brake pads - front and back

- rotors - front

- spark plugs

- distributor cap

- spark plug wire set

- Interstate Battery

Work Done Recently (within the last 3 months):

- changed lower and upper control arms

- upgraded deck and speakers

Just bought over $140 worth of small parts that I haven't even received yet from the states that I will include. All parts put in are GERMAN or OEM. Nothing chinese or cheap. The engine starts without any problems.

The bad:

- Needs some interior and exterior cosmetic work to be "perfect".

- roof fabric is loose in some spots due to old glue.

- Dent in front passenger fender. Cosmetic.

- Small amount of rust on bottom of doors.

- resistor for fan blower broken. Fan just turns on or off - switch works.

The car is not perfect, but for an 88, it starts and drives beautifully. I've been using it everyday this summer.

Car companies may need to start curbing model proliferation

Mon, 17 Nov 2014

Looking at the current automotive landscape, especially from German makers, you quickly get the impression that less definitely isn't more. BMW alone offers its 3 Series platform in practically every segment possible, including the regular sedan and 4 Series Gran Coupe, which would seem to be direct competitors. Porsche might be the winner, though, with 20 different variants of the 911 listed for sale on its US website. However, some of this model madness might be reaching an end as companies begin cutting back spending or shifting money to other priorities.
According to Yahoo Finance, the offerings from the German automakers are up 25 percent over the past three years to over 200 models in Europe. The peak is expected to come around 2018 at 230 separate vehicles, according to consulting company PwC.
Amazingly, BMW, which is among the poster children for this model explosion, might be changing its tune. "I'm sure there will be points in the future where we look at certain cars and say, 'Maybe we need to think differently now,'" said head of sales Ian Robertson in an interview, according to Yahoo Finance. The statement certainly sounds shocking coming from a company rumored to have 23 front-wheel-drive vehicles all using a single platform on the way.

Watch two championship-winning DTM cars from BMW go head-to-head

Mon, 06 May 2013

BMW recently had a little fun with two of the company's past DTM champions. Roberto Ravaglia and Bruno Spengler, winners of the 1989 and 2012 championships, respectively, both showed up at the world-famous Hockenheimring with their title-winning cars. The two swapped seats, with Ravaglia taking the helm of Spengler's BMW M3 DTM racer and Spengler sliding behind the wheel of Ravaglia's first-generation M3 racer in the classic BMW Bank livery, and headed for the track. Spengler got a 23 second head start in the first-gen M3 with Ravaglia chasing behind.
It didn't take long for the older hotshoe to sort out his new ride and close the gap. The short clip below follows the two as they make their way around the circuit, but the really interesting portion comes when the pair begin discussing what they like and don't like about each other's machines. You can check out the full video below for yourself.

Ford, Toyota clean up in Best Car For The Money Awards

Fri, 22 Feb 2013

The U.S. News Best Cars for the Money Awards picks winners by looking at the average transaction price, five-year total cost of ownership, the regard a car has from the automotive press, reliability figures from J.D. Power and Associates and safety data from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration and the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. The result, according to the magazine, is "the best combination of critical acclaim and long-term value."
Ford nabbed six of the 21 categories that received awards this year, the Focus, Fusion, Fusion Hybrid, Taurus, Escape and Edge getting trophies. Toyota and its Lexus and Scion sub-brands took another five, the Tacoma and Tundra owning the two categories given to pickup trucks. The other ten awards were split between Honda with three, Buick with two, and one each for Subaru, BMW, Hyundai, Chevrolet and Mazda.
