1988 BMW E30 M3 Thank you for viewing my auction. Up for sale is a original 1988 BMW E30 M3 coupe. I flew down to Alabama and drove this car back 950 miles to NJ, she runs great! The car is finished in Lachssilber-Metallic code 203/7. The mileage is 148,140. The history of the car is clean 2 owners with no accidents. This is a 100% stock car with no modifications, the way it should be. Condition- Mechanically the car runs great. The engine runs very smoothly no issues. The clutch operates great and grabs no problem, and the transmission shifts well. All electronics work, even the trip computer pixels read fine! The A/C blows ice cold. The car was repainted at some point. There are spots around the vehicle where the clear coat is peeling. There is peeling on the hood, roof, C pillar on the passenger side, and the top of the deck lid and a small crack in the paint on the rear spoiler. The front seats are sun faded, but not torn. The rear seat is in great shape, the leather is still soft. The headliner is in good shape and is not torn or sagging. The dash has cracks which is common on these. I have all the original books for the car, and tons of records. I have part of the original window sticker, and the original purchase order from 1987! BMW X4 opens up alongside its boxier brother
Tue, 01 Oct 2013It doesn't seem so long ago that BMW (not to mention Audi, Volvo and a handful of other European automakers) weren't in the crossover market. But it's been over a decade since BMW began producing the first-gen X5, and in the fourteen years since, the Bavarian automaker has steadily expanded its portfolio to include the X1, X3 and X6.
The next to join the family will be the X4, which is essentially to the X3 what the X6 is to the X5. That is to say, basically the same vehicle, only with an (arguably) more stylish but less utile roofline. Previewed in concept form at the Shanghai Auto Show half a year ago, the X4 has been snapped by our plucky paparazzi in the past, but this is the first time we've seen inside.
Not only that, but the prototype in question was spotted next to the current X3 on which it is based, which gives us ample opportunity to see the differences between them. Of course, that still primarily comes down to the slantback profile, because otherwise, the two are essentially the same inside and out. Or at least they will be: many of the differences between the two are expected to port over to the X3 when it's refreshed next year, including some subtle interior upgrades - just not the roofline.
Hamann BMW M6 Mirror can now cash the checks its body writes
Wed, 05 Mar 2014Anyone remember the Hamann Mirror? Need a refresher? The Mirror is German tuning company Hamann's idea of a BMW M6. It was shown at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show as an M6 Gran Coupe, sporting a ridiculous paint job and some meaty, multi-spoke 21-inch wheels.
Consider this car the Mirror Mark 2. Based on the M6 Coupe, Hamann has applied a similar visual theme, using the same 21-inch wheels from 2013. Whereas the Gran Coupe rode around with a stock powertrain, though, there's been no such restraint with the two-door Mirror. A fine 620 horsepower is available from the 4.4-liter, biturbocharged V8, an increase of 60 horsepower. Torque is up as well, from 501 pound-feet to a whopping 560, meaning this M6 has speed to match its looks. Hamann claims the Mirror's newfound grunt allows it to hit 62 miles per hour faster than the standard M6 (we'd certainly hope so), although it won't mention a specific number.
The suspension, meanwhile, has been dropped 1.37 inches, or about a third of an inch lower than the Frankfurt Mirror. That drop is complemented by the Mirror's bodywork, including the exposed, carbon fiber hood and the flared fenders, which can now accommodate the enormous 305/25 rear rubber. Hamann has also paid some attention to the front and rear aerodynamics.

Wed, 25 Dec 2013Santa Claus might have his eight reindeer - or nine, when it's foggy - to help him deliver presents in most parts of the world, but in southern California, it looks like he's traded up from Dasher, Dancer, Prancer and company to BMW, Yamaha and Ducati. RNickeyMouse is usually the place to check out spectacular motorcycle crashes on video along LA's Mulholland Drive, but a recent video caught a trio of Santas carving up the iconic, twisty road.
The three Santas are together, riding what appears to be a BMW S1000RR, Yamaha R1 and a hard-to-tell custom bike that could be a Ducati 1098. The video, which is posted below, also catches a bonus Santa riding solo on another S1000RR. Happy Christmas to all, and to all a cool bike!
