1997 Bmw M3 Dinan Supercharged Daily Driver/track Car on 2040-cars
Blue Mounds, Wisconsin, United States
This incredible car is a two owner M3, I have owned it since 2000 and have taken incredible care of it. No detail is overlooked on this car. It is extremely well sorted and cared for. The same Mechanic has been working on it since the day I bought it and can vouch for the car (BMW Master Tech)
I put approximately 5,000 miles a year on the car and driver 3 to 4 DE's every year in the car as such it has been built as a car designed to perform on the track. Visually this car is stunning the paint is 9.5 out of 10. The engine is less than 15k miles from a complete rebuild. I have well over $45,000 in upgrades in this car, and it will be somebodies pride and joy, this isn't some hack job done on a budget this car got the best of everything. Drivetrain
Last Dyno 437 WHP/378ft/lbs Tq Suspension/Chasis
Cooling
This car stays incredibly cool on the track. Interior
Exterior
Brakes/Wheels
This car get's it's oil changed after every event using Amsoil 15w50 Racing Oil, Motul 660 Brake Fluid, Royal Purple Synchromax Transmission Fluid, BMW LSD Fluid This is a car you can drive on the street or take to the track and it handles like no other car I have ever driven, it surprises a lot of cars on the track and hangs with GT3's, Corvette's and 911's all day at Road America. When people look at this car they are always amazed at the condition of it, it looks as good or better than any other E36 M3 I have ever seen. You will not be dissapointed. This car has always been stored in the Winter and has never been in bad weather zero issues, this car is even better looking in person. |

BMW Vision Future Luxury Concept is bold and beautiful in Beijing
Sun, 20 Apr 2014BMW officially unveiled the Vision Future Luxury Concept today (or is it tomorrow?) at the 2014 Beijing Motor Show, giving the world's media an in-the-flesh look at not only a future design theme for the brand, but a rumored flagship model.
This is a looker in person, thanks to its Pininfarina Gran Lusso Coupe-inspired design, and it's not too difficult to imagine it in production car form, with smaller wheels, larger mirrors and the other minor transformations that take place from drawing board, to auto show and, finally, to assembly line. In general, it seems like there are more than a few parts of this vehicle that are ready for production.
We didn't talk about it in our initial post, but it bears mentioning that this particular concept is wearing an eDrive badge on its backside, indicating that under the Vision Future Luxury's long hood is some form of plug-in-hybrid propulsion. It's anyone's guess as to what engine, battery and motor combinations BMW is playing with, although it does seem questionable whether BMW would launch a PHEV flagship to do battle with a top-rung variant of the Mercedes-Benz S-Class (which will likely use V12 power).
BMW reacquires original factory as classic center
Thu, 27 Feb 2014BMW was barely two years old when it started manufacturing airplane engines in a factory on Moosacher Strasse in Munich. Two years after that, it sold the factory to Knorr-Bremse AG, a leading manufacturer of brakes for trains and commercial vehicles, and BMW moved into a new facility on Lerchenauer Strasse. There it expanded into the industrial giant we know today, building engines for cars, trucks, motorcycles, boats and planes. It's taken the better part of a century to get that original factory back, but that's exactly what BMW has done, reacquiring the expanded facility from Knorr-Bremse this month.
The factory on Moonsacher Strasse will now serve as the headquarters for BMW Group Classic, the division that handles archives and historical vehicles for BMW, Mini and Rolls-Royce. From there, just a stone's throw from corporate headquarters and its main plant (as well as BMW Welt and the BMW Museum), the classic division's operations will include a restoration workshop, vintage parts store, the company's archives, administration as well as a place to hold events. In addition, there will be an exhibition space for historical vehicles from the company's considerable collection.
At the heart of the new/old campus is the gatehouse, which is a protected heritage site and will serve as a gateway into the company's history. Read the full details in the press release below.
BMW M235i Racing restores our faith in 'M'
Wed, 20 Nov 2013Based on the upcoming BMW 2 Series and aimed at amateur and semi-professional racers, the 2014 BMW M235i Racing is a stripped-down, race-spec coupe ready to take on the Nürburgring in the VLN Endurance Championship race series against cars from Audi, Porsche and Toyota.
Obvious in the image above (click to enlarge), BMW has given the M235i Racing the wide-body treatment with a track that has been stretched by 3.5 inches. Under the hood, the 3.0-liter turbocharged inline six-cylinder receives a power boost from a stock 322 horsepower up slightly to 333 hp, while other modifications include a full FIA roll cage, a racing fuel tank and a limited slip rear differential.
The M235i Racing replaces the M3 GT4 as BMW's factory racer, and it will be priced at 59,500 euros (close to $80,000), which is about as affordable as a factory-prepped racecar can get. The full press release is posted below, but we can't wait to see this car in action next year.
