6 SPEED MANUAL!!!
GOOD CARFAX!!!
CONVERTIBLE!!!
NO SMG!!!

This 6 Speed Manual Transmission M3 Convertible is loaded with the Harmon Kardon stereo, back up sensors, 19" sport wheels, and of course all the standard luxury features standard on a M3. The paint and body are in excellent condition, there has not been any previous paint or body work and it has been garage kept and frequently detailed. The black leather interior is like new. The 19" wheels were an upgraded option for this M3, they're in great shape and the tires have plenty of tread left. All service are up to date. Most M3's were sold with the SMG semi automatic transmission. The SMG drives very jerky and often fails costing thousands of dollars to repair. That's why a normal 6 speed manual transmission is a better car that is cheaper to own and will last much longer. All keys, books and mats are with the vehicle. They don't come any nicer than this one! Disclosure--the oil temp gage may be replaced at owner's discretion. Occasionally, the gage is offline. I had oil changed about a week ago at a local German car specialist and the gage seemed to work fine at that time. No other issues that I know of. I have owned Corvettes and Porsches and this car, driven in sport mode, is fastest car I have owned. Scary fast.

BMW Active Tourer to hit US showrooms in 2015

Tue, 26 Nov 2013

It's been over a year since BMW unveiled the Concept Active Tourer at the Paris Motor Show, and another four months since it brought the concept back in Outdoor guise (pictured above). Now word has it that the Bavarian automaker is putting it into production.
Although production specs and dimensions have yet to be revealed, the Concept Active Tourer came in a bit smaller than the existing BMW X1. The production version is expected to be based on the same platform that underpins the new Mini hatchback revealed last week in LA, meaning that it will be predominantly front-drive, but an all-wheel-drive version could follow.
There will also be a longer version with a third row of seats, forming part of a new generation of front-drive BMWs to take on the likes of the Audi A1 and Mercedes-Benz A-Class family, of which the GLA will be the Active Tourer's most direct rival. Expect the Active Tourer to arrive in 2015 with a new front-drive sedan to follow in 2017 aimed particularly at the North American and Chinese markets.

BMW X4 opens up alongside its boxier brother

Tue, 01 Oct 2013

It doesn't seem so long ago that BMW (not to mention Audi, Volvo and a handful of other European automakers) weren't in the crossover market. But it's been over a decade since BMW began producing the first-gen X5, and in the fourteen years since, the Bavarian automaker has steadily expanded its portfolio to include the X1, X3 and X6.
The next to join the family will be the X4, which is essentially to the X3 what the X6 is to the X5. That is to say, basically the same vehicle, only with an (arguably) more stylish but less utile roofline. Previewed in concept form at the Shanghai Auto Show half a year ago, the X4 has been snapped by our plucky paparazzi in the past, but this is the first time we've seen inside.
Not only that, but the prototype in question was spotted next to the current X3 on which it is based, which gives us ample opportunity to see the differences between them. Of course, that still primarily comes down to the slantback profile, because otherwise, the two are essentially the same inside and out. Or at least they will be: many of the differences between the two are expected to port over to the X3 when it's refreshed next year, including some subtle interior upgrades - just not the roofline.

This is the BMW Z4 GTE that will wear the Roundel in ALMS

Sun, 17 Feb 2013

The Speedweeks at Daytona International Speedway are a month of racing and reveals, with the season's metal going for the flag at races like the Rolex 24 at Daytona and other cars being introduced to the public. In the latter category is the BMW Z4 GTE (click the image above to enlarge) joining the American Le Mans Series GT class this year with BMW Team RLL (Rahal, Letterman and Lanigan). This machine replaces the M3 GT that completed four years of service and won the class title in 2010 and 2011. Naturally, the team is tempering expectations for the Z4 GTE by repeating the fact that it sees this season as a development year.
BMW Team RLL drivers for its two cars will be Bill Auberlen and series rookie Maxime Martin in the No. 55, aided by Jörg Müller for the endurance races at Sebring and Road Atlanta. The No. 56 car gets Dirk Müller on a full-time basis, Joey Hand when he's not competing in the DTM series, and John Edwards when Hand isn't available. Uwe Alzen will help out with driving duties in the No. 56 at endurance races.
