Hello,

Selling my 2008 BMW M3 (E92) AW/BL. The car currently has 42,362 miles on it. I bought it back in June 2012 in Atlanta, GA with 38k from a car enthusiast. I am the 3rd owner. The 1st owner was from Texas, meaning the car has never seen snow. This has always been my second vehicle; it's taken out on weekends during the summer. It's put away in my garage for the winter (before the first snowfall).  The car has always been hand washed and detailed on every single wash (usually spend about 2-3 hours).

Standard options:

Technology, Premium, Cold Package
Premium sound system
DCT
CF Roof
Extended Novillo Leather
PDC (rear)
Navigation

Modifications list below:

CF Mode Carbon Front Lip ($1,000)
CF Mirrors ($350)
CF Spoiler ($350)
CF Diffuser ($400)

Painted reflectors ($60)
Matte black kidney grills ($60)
20% Window tints ($300)
LUX v3 Angel Eyes ($250)
LED Bright White License Plate bulbs ($50)
BMW License plate frame $40)
LCI Tail lights ($515)
OEM Alcantara BMW Steering wheel ($600)

H&R Springs (Sport) ($350)
15mm Turner Spacers (Front & Back) ($200)
Competition Wheels (with TPMS) ($2000)
Michelin PS2 tires (255/35 front)(275/35 rear) ($1,000)

Turner Test Pipes (OEM cats included) ($400)
BPM Stage 2 Tune (cable included) ($1,000)
MS Air filter ($80)
OEM Exhaust Mod ($375)
DCT Tune ($120)
Coded (Windows, mirrors, Euro MDM, corner lights delete, LCI, warning dongs, etc) The usual things to get coded. ($60)

All in all, I spent a little under 10k on modifications. Have receipts if needed. I also have some of the original parts if needed such as the OEM Air Filter, mirrors, trunk spoiler and probably some other things.

I have no problem shipping it out if needed at buyers expense. I had it shipped from Atlanta to Boston in an enclosed trailer (insured). It was the longest wait ever but would definitely do it again if I had to.

As for maintenance & service, it has always gone to the dealer (BMW Tulley). I have all service records in handy.  Last service was performed in July 2013, it was for an oil change and an alignment (after installing H&R Springs).

Price $46,500 (slightly negotiable).

I've taken extremely good care of it. Again, it wasn't my daily driver. Saddens me to see it go.

Any questions, feel free to message. Also, if you need more higher resolution pictures, please let me know.

Thank you.

BMW planning X4 M Performance diesel? [w/poll]

Wed, 04 Dec 2013

With the arrival of the new X4 in March, BMW will expand its crossover portfolio by one more model. But while some enthusiasts may have been disappointed by the news that the Bavarian automaker isn't likely to authorize an M version of the compact slantback crossover, this latest development could help bridge the gap.
Although the line used to be quite clear between standard BMWs and M models, Munich has been blurring it with the M Performance treatment. Those have included models like the M135i hatchback and M235i coupe, the diesel-powered M550d sedan and wagon and X5 and X6 M50d crossovers. Now word has it that BMW could follow a similar formula with the X4, creating a sub-M performance model.
What's more is that the X4 M Performance model could go diesel, following a similar formula that Audi undertook with its first performance crossover, the SQ5 TDI. The major difference here is that when Audi brought the SQ5 to these shores, it ditched the diesel for a gasoline engine. Could BMW do the same?

Why BMWs are cheaper than Hyundais in Korea

Sat, 18 May 2013

Bloomberg reports shifting tariff regulations have upended the traditional automotive pecking order in Korea. Thanks to cheaper import taxes, foreign brands have seen market share jump from 28 percent to 41 percent over the last two years. BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Audi have all capitalized on the shift, with domestics like Hyundai and Kia suffering at the hands of their German rivals.
Taxes on European imports have fallen from 8 percent in 2011 to just 3.2 percent today. Over the next few years, tariffs will all but be eliminated for most imports, and taxes on US-made vehicles are expected to fall to just 4 percent in 2014. By 2016, that number will be zero. Needless to say, Hyundai and Kia are concerned about the shift.
Hyundai has seen profit fall by 15 percent last quarter, and the company says it is on pace to see the slowest sales growth since 2007. The company's shares have fallen by 12 percent. In order to stem the losses, Hyundai has discounted its midsize sedans and started working on diesel engine options.

2014 BMW 328i xDrive Gran Turismo

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

"The Ultimate Driving Machine" has been BMW's tagline for nearly 40 years. Launched in the 1970s, the marketing campaign was a stroke of genius by ad firm Ammirati & Puris, as the phrase helped differentiate the imported Bavarian cars from their fellow European rivals by subtly pointing out that Mercedes-Benz and Audi were offering luxury models, while BMW was selling sporty and youthful driving dynamics. The campaign worked - some would argue that stands among the most effective ad campaigns ever - and countless Baby Boomers embraced the brand's fun-to-drive image by taking delivery of the company's new models.
BMW still boasts that its vehicles are "The Ultimate Driving Machine" four decades later, but the brand is very different today. It offered just a few model lines in the mid-1970s, and only a handful of vehicles within. In 2014, the automaker offers an exhaustive range comprised of nearly a dozen lines with almost 50 different models. To survive and thrive, BMW has decided it must massively broaden its appeal.
One of the latest arrivals to BMW's ever-growing stable is the 2014 3 Series Gran Turismo. The five-door hatchback is best thought of as a smaller version of the company's 5 Series Gran Turismo built on stretched 3 Series platform that, in the case of this test car, shares the running gear of the 328i xDrive sedan. On paper, the five-passenger vehicle checks all the proper boxes with regards to performance, utility and economy. But does this family-focused 3 Series still deliver driving dynamics that qualify it for the title of Ultimate Driving Machine?
