My wife and I are selling our beloved M5. She is the last thing we have on credit. This is the last of what we have on credit, and our New Year's Resolution was to pay off all of our credit debt, Even our precious M5. We owe just under what we are selling Her for, so we're not making any money by selling Her, but we'll be happy just being credit free again; finally. This $123,000 Automobile for this low price is a crime, less than a two year old Hyundai, but we gotta do it. This price is to help all those getting their tax returns and want to buy a car far superior than any new car in this price range.

This is the 203+ MPH Monster as She sits! She has several driving modes for those who want economy and luxury over performance as well. A Hand-Built by one Master Engine Builder 507+ Horsepower V-10, SMG 7-Speed Transmission, Active, Heated and Cooled Seats, Auto Guiding Halogen Lights, Power Moon-Roof, Paddle Shifters, Auto or Manual modes, Launch Control, M-Calibrated Heads Up Display (H.U.D)... look at the panel of buttons below the stereo, there are no blanks. This means She has every option, only 8% of all M5's have all every option. Adding every option adds approximately $23k to the base price. Sticker was over $120,000. This M5 is in Very-Good to Excellent condition, Zero Accidents, Immaculate CarFax & Brand New Tires. 80k Freeway Miles. Just had Full Major Service done by Top BMW Tech in Santa Fe. He was the General Service Manager at one of the largest BMW dealerships in the US and left to start the BMW Shop that he always wanted for himself.

This M5 was a California all Her life, so there are no rust worries or anything like that. She is also all stock except for the Top-of-the Line H&R Performance Street Springs at all four corners and a Specially Engineered Drop-In AFE Special BMW M-Power Ram-Air Type Cold Air Intake System; both goes to the owner free of any extra charge. This system is engineered as a drop in install for any E60 M5's and increases power noticeably, especially after speeds above 50-60 MPH when the Ram-Air really has a lot of air to guide straight into the engine's intake, and she just climbs from there to 210+ MPH. Stock ECU, Stock Full Exhaust w/ Catalytic Converters, U.S. Launch Control & Full Transmission Software, Stock Engine Pulleys and Everything Else.

I also have all the stock parts as well, so turning her back to Full OEM is a snap; but the Springs and Intake make such a positive difference with zero negative side effects, that only a pseudo-driver would ever even entertain a crazy idea like removing both of those Great devices! If that sounds good to you, then maybe you should be looking for an Acura or Lexus or something. This Car is the Fastest 4 Door Ever - She Does at least 203MPH All Stock right off the showroom floor! Also, the car is faster at over 60K miles than She is with 5K miles on Her. The tolerances are so tight that it takes that long for this V-10 to fully break in. So, she has just barely been broken in, and still has several Hundreds of Thousands of Miles to go. A True Ultimate Driving Machine for less than a two year old Hyundai, that makes this car an easy choice!

Email back, or call 466-1066, in the 505 for more info. or to schedule an appointment. No Trades, Looky Loos, Tire Kickers, Test Drives to insincere buyers, low-ball offers, scams or any other off color activity will be tolerated. I owe just under what I am asking to the Lien-holder - Cap-One, so I could not sell Her for much less even if I wanted to. I was offered almost this much by a local dealer, so come and get Her. Save $100K off the brand new price and $6K off the Blue Book Value for an M5 that is superior to the new, smog friendly V8 F10 model.

Thanks for looking!

BMW recalling 1 Series ActiveE over bad drivetrain housing

Wed, 30 Jan 2013

There are always growing pains when automakers introduce new technologies. BMW is learning this with the electric powetrain used on the 2011 BMW ActiveE. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, about half of the all-electric 1 Series coupes currently in the hands of the public are being recalled for a potential problem that could leave the cars stranded.
With 700 ActiveE models running around the US, 360 of these cars have insufficient sealing between the electric motor and transmission, which could lead to premature wear to the connection between the two, which in turn could result in a loss of propulsion. BMW started notifying affected owners by phone earlier this month.
While no automaker wants a recall on its hands, it's much better for BMW to learn such a lesson now on the low-production, lease-only ActiveE ahead of the car's successor, the BMW i3, which is expected to be a much higher-volume EV. Scroll down for the official recall notification.

Watch man destroy his M6 'lemon' with a sledgehammer and ax

Tue, 17 Sep 2013

Just to be clear, the owner of this BMW M6 isn't ready for another one. He and his friend destroyed the V10-powered coupe in anger at the entrance to the Frankfurt Motor Show in a decidedly public fashion. Bild and GT Spirit report that the owner was angry over mysterious quality and reliability issues that he claims BMW wasn't able to fix. What we have here, folks, is claimed to be a very expensive lemon.
As the story goes, owner Pourmohseni Hadi bought the 2007 M6 in 2008, and five years later, he is still complaining about mysterious vibrations, rattles and severe jolts during gear changes - the latter he says have caused passengers to become nauseous. The car was taken to several BMW repair shops in Italy and Hadi says he he has written a letter to the automaker about his issues, but the car was never fixed and the letter unanswered, he claims. What we don't know is how many miles the car has been driven and when all these problems started happening. The situation reminds us of a certain Lamborghini Gallardo from a couple years back.
While we understand Hadi's frustration, perhaps an M6 just doesn't suit his tastes. After all, we'd be lying if we said a perfectly functioning M6 of this generation wasn't bumpy over uneven surfaces and wouldn't make some passengers nauseous, with its stiffly sprung suspension and dizzying 500-horsepower V10. Anyone wanna bet his M6 was equipped with one of BMW's notoriously abrupt SMG single-clutch gearboxes?

The List: The Red BMW - A Retrospective

Mon, 23 Dec 2013

We can't help but use this time of year to look back at the days before and reminisce about friends who are no longer in our lives. For The List, Jessi and Patrick were often joined by a little, red BMW 3 Series that, at times, felt like a third host of the show. Having been bought used for just a thousand bucks, the red BMW proved to be surprisingly durable. Through jumps, dunks and monster trucks, it remained our little trooper 'till the very end, and on the way taught us all how important a faithful four-wheeled companion is to the life's work of completing one's automotive bucket list.
For our last episode of The List in 2013, we give you The Red BMW - A Retrospective.
