Up for sale is my 2003 BMW Z4. Forget about a Corvette or 350Z, I looked into those until I realized that they're nothing special considering EVERYONE has those. This is a real head turner and not a day goes by that I do not get a complement on this car.
It has a blue exterior and black interior. Mileage is approximately 60K and is slowly climbing everyday as I am still driving it. I've owned it for a year, since August 2012 and purchased at 45K miles. Previous owner was also a banker who purchased it close to new at 2K miles from an insurance auction and had it completely repaired. It was involved in a previous accident, but it was repaired so well, I could not find any damage repairs on it. Because of the accident it does have a Michigan Rebuilt title, but because of this, the price is also so low. Even with the rebuilt title, it can be financed (I financed it through my credit union) and can also have full coverage insurance (I do).
It is the 3.0i Sport, meaning it has the sport suspension, 17" rims with low profile tires, and "sport mode" button which definitely gives it more power. This is my summer daily driver, and I get 22mpg. Car has GPS navigation, CD player, heated seats, rain sensing wipers, and etc. Rather than having two vehicles (winter and summer), I decided to get a new all-weather vehicle, and looking to sell soon so I can transfer my insurance and plates to my new car.
Known problems:
-Needs outside air temperature sensor for the air conditioner to work. Currently reads -40 degrees and air will not kick on at that low temp.
-Needs new switch on center console for convertible top. Previous owner had it completely serviced with new motors. The switch was working intermittently and has now failed.
-Check engine light due to emissions system leak. This does not affect drive-ability at all. When the car is fueled to the top of the tank, it creates a hard start condition. After the first start, it has no problems at all.
-Wear and tear from daily use (2 small dings on passenger door, 1 small ding on passenger quarter panel, one dime sized chip on windshield, wear on driver's seat bolster).
-Foggy headlights. These can be cleaned. Car could use a good detail.
-GPS screen pops up from the dash and sometimes gets stuck while coming up and down.
Besides those minor issues, the car runs and drives great. Engine and transmission are perfect. Oil doesn't burn, there are no knocks, ticks or etc. Transmission shifts perfectly with no hesitation. I use Mobil1 0w40 Euroblend full-synthetic with BMW OEM filter. E-mail me through the link above or call/text me at 734 Five One 6-2862.
Walk around video of the car. As you can see, it is BEAUTIFUL.

BMW V8-powered Ford Model A is the definition of Hot Rod
Thu, 20 Jun 2013Today, hotrodding has a pretty staid definition. Take one classic American car, add one classic American V8, sprinkle with tire smoke and you pretty much have every hot rod to roll out of a shop in the last 40 years. Mike Borroughs knows it wasn't always this way. Once upon a time, getting your bucket to go faster meant grabbing whatever parts were lazing about the yard, bolting them together with a bit of ingenuity and laughing your way down the quarter mile. It's in that spirit that Burroughs built his 1928 Ford Model A.
Rather than turn to the tired flathead or the common Chevrolet small block, Burroughs plucked a 4.0-liter V8 from a 1995 BMW 7 Series. With 300 horsepower and 300 pound-feet of torque, the engine has no trouble shuffling the old A around town. He had to build a custom chassis to get everything to cooperate, but the result is a 1,500-pound heathen that looks built to harass dry lake beds. You can check it out in the video below. Be warned, the soundtrack by Hanni el Khatib may not be safe for work - awesomeness of this caliber rarely is.
2013 Dinan S3 BMW 550i
Thu, 30 May 2013Steve Dinan has been enhancing BMW models since 1979. But don't throw his company into the ring with the dozen or so other tuners who tweak, tinker and piggyback upgrades on the famed German marque. Dinan is a tuner, but it's also an engineering firm that writes its own software, builds its own parts and then backs everything it does with a factory-grade warranty. That sort of fastidiousness comes at a price, but most of its customers - including the powerhouse of BMW Motorsport - rely on Dinan to help them come out on top.
In stock form, BMW's 550i is a formidable four-door with a twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 rated at 400 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. While those figures allow it to run with quick company (0-60 in 5.0 seconds, according to the automaker), Dinan puts the sedan's kettle on full boil with its S3 package. Starting with the engine, the performance engineering firm bolts on larger turbochargers, air-to-water intercoolers, a trick strut tower brace cold air intake, a quad-pipe free flow exhaust and its own engine management software. Pump in some premium fuel, and the result is 542 horsepower and 587 pound-feet of torque. Power is sent through the stock eight-speed automatic to a limited slip rear differential (Dinan will upgrade xDrive all-wheel drive models, too).
The Dinan S3 also features and extensive suspension upgrade that includes new front camber arms and low compliance rear control arms (engineered to reduce understeer and improve turn-in). The stock dampers are retained, but new bump stops are installed along with new springs. Overall, the car rides about a half-inch lower than stock to improve roll rate. To reduce unsprung weight, forged 20-inch HRE Performance wheels are fitted at all four corners (wearing Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires - 275/35ZR20 up front and 295/35ZR20 in the rear). Lastly, the company remaps the factory Electronic Damper Control (EDC) software with its own Dinan Shockware to work in conjunction with the new enhancements.
BMW unleases new M4 as MotoGP safety car
Mon, 10 Mar 2014BMW has some considerable racing prowess to crow about, and draws on those credentials to create models like the new M4. But it's not about to rest on the laurels it's won at the end of innumerable races past and present. Mere months after the release of its latest performance coupe, BMW has already revealed a new M4 touring car for the DTM series, and has now unveiled its new M4 safety car for the MotoGP motorcycle championship.
Revealed on the BMW M Facebook page and set to debut at the front of the grid at the season opener in Qatar a couple weeks from now, the new M4 safety car is just the latest in a long string of official vehicles it has provided to the MotoGP series. Previous examples have included everything from the 1M Coupe to the M6 and the X6 M.
Like its predecessors, the M4 safety car features emergency lighting, special equipment and of course BMW's trademark white livery with red, navy and light blue stripes that, in this arrangement, give the new Williams Martini Racing livery a run for its money. Logos promote the BMW M Performance Parts you can buy to bring your own Bimmer up to spec, which on this car isn't likely have changed much from stock.
