This beautiful 1970 Buick Electra 225 Convertible has been lovingly restored to even better than it was originally, with many, many improvements.  Over the last 2 years the owner has pumped over $33,000 in upgrades into this "deuce and a quarter" !!  The 445 was rebuilt by Scotty Guardano with all new T/A performance  parts. Built with a TA 290-94H can and all new parts.  Stage 1 performance heads, ported with stiffer springs and bigger valves.  New flywheel.  A new 6 quart oil pan.  A Holley 3310 carb. New maser cylinder, brakes, and brake lines, new belts, hoses, thermostat, and 4 row radiator, fan clutch; new wheel bearings front and rear and new brake cylinders. The transmission has been rebuilt with a new torque convertor also.  The exhaust system has been reworked with 2 1/4 inch Magnaflow pipes and Dynomax resonators.  The suspension has been fully replaced.  All new bushings and ball joints. A sway bar was added to the rear end.  New 105 amp alternator.  A MSD ignition and wires are new.The gas tank was recently dropped, cleaned and serviced.  The interior was completly redone also, even the bulbs behind the dash are new.  There are many, many improvements too numerous to mention. The paint is in good condition ( about an 8.5 on a scale of 10 ) with some very minor survace rust bubbles and a few nicks.  The convertible top operates but does need to be refreshed.  For more information or for your questions, please do not hesitate to ask.

GM issues four new recalls, 2.4 million cars affected

Tue, 20 May 2014

General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.
Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:
1,339,355 - Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia models from the 2009 to 2014 model years; Saturn Outlook models from the 2009 to 2010 model years

Buick to add more GS models?

Fri, 29 Nov 2013

Buick may not be the first name that comes to mind when you think of performance automobiles, but fans of the brand know what letters to look for. If you believe the reports, there's a new GNX and Grand National on the way, but in the meantime, Buick may offer more GS models to fill the void.
Currently, the Regal is the only model available as a GS (pictured above), packing the same 259-horsepower turbo four as the Regal Turbo but enhanced with key suspension, brakes and rolling-stock upgrades. As Car and Driver notes, similar upgrades could easily be applied to the Verano and LaCrosse, although maybe not the Encore or Enclave crossovers. Of course, Buick would still have to steer clear of Cadillac's Vsport line, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a little room to play.

GM announces 6 recalls covering nearly 720k cars

Wed, 23 Jul 2014

General Motors has announced yet another sprawling recall campaign, with six separate elements covering 717,950 vehicles on US roads. At this point in 2014, it's starting to seem like there are more days with a GM recall than without. Perhaps most troubling about this latest volley, though, is that every vehicle is from the past few years, indicating that GM's quality woes may not be limited to pre-bankruptcy vehicles.
The largest element of this latest campaign covers 414,333 units, and includes the 2011 to 2012 Chevrolet Camaro, 2010 to 2012 Chevy Equinox, GMC Terrain and Cadillac SRX and the 2011 to 2012 Buick Regal and LaCrosse. Only vehicles with powered, height-adjustable seats are covered. In these particular cars and crossovers, the bolt that secures the height adjuster actuator may loosen of its own accord and in some cases fall out completely. If this happens, the seats will be able to move both up and down. GM claims the vehicles are safe to drive, provided drivers don't vertically adjust their seats. This particular issue has caused one crash and three injuries.
