1986 Buick Grand National 3.8 V6 with Intercooled Turbo. This car is awesome. The only non stock part is the 2 1/2 in mandrel bend Texas Exhaust. Garage kept, interior looks and smells new. Engine and trunk are spotless. Rare digital AC / Heat controls with an interior that looks like new. Original paint with a dealer installed moon roof prior to delivery. All weather stripping is in perfect shape. Also a rear seat cross brace was added. I have all the original manuals and service logs. Extremely sad to see it go but also sad to see it just sit. This car is BadA$$ all the way and has been well taken care of. The reserve is set with the minor fixes in mind. No secrets about condition here. It's beautiful and doesn't need a long history written here. If you're looking then you know what this vehicle is and what it can do. Opel Cascada close to getting green light for US
Fri, 13 Sep 2013For a company with a long tradition of grand touring convertibles, it's almost unseemly that General Motors doesn't offer a properly relaxed four-seat convertible in North America. There's the Chevrolet Camaro, of course, but it's not big on rear-seat space and it doesn't offer that sort of serene demeanor that many open-air buyers crave. We're thinking of something more refined and, dare we say, elegant. Something a bit closer to the Opel Cascada.
The General's front-wheel drive convertible went on sale in Europe this year, and while it seemed like a natural fit for its Buick brand in America, it's never been sold here. That may be about to change, however. Back in June, CEO Dan Akerson hinted he'd like to see the Cascada available in the US, and now there's word from Edmunds that importation "could happen soon." That's according to an unnamed insider at the company.
It's almost unseemly that GM doesn't offer a relaxed four-seat convertible.

Buick GN and GNX will return
2013 Buick Encore nets strong IIHS, NHTSA safety scores
Wed, 05 Jun 2013After being crushed from every which way and rolled over like a labrador, the 2013 Buick Encore has been named a Top Safety Pick by the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety. To earn the accolade, a vehicle must achieve the highest rating of "Good" in each of the institute's four main crash tests: Front Moderate Overlap, Side, Rollover and Rear. The Encore aced those four tests with "Good" ratings, but missed out on the coveted Top Safety Pick+ designation by receiving a Poor rating in the institute's new Front Small Overlap test. To be named a Top Safety Pick+, the Encore would need to score at least an "Acceptable" rating in the new test, as well as "Good" in all four original crash tests.
Despite the miss, the Encore joins the Enclave, LaCrosse, Verano and Regal as Top Safety Picks all. If you count only the Encore with all-wheel drive, then all five Buicks have also earned five-star overall ratings from the National Highway Traffic Safety Adminstration, making Buick one of the few manufacturers to offer a full lineup with high scores from both safety rating organizations.
The front-wheel-drive Encore, despite performing equally as well as the all-wheel-drive version in NHTSA's crash tests, only earned four stars overall. As far as we can tell, the discrepancy between the two is because some safety equipment, like Forward Collision Warning and Lane Departure Assist, are optional features on the FWD Encore and standard on the AWD model.
