1987 Buick Grand National

Car has been sitting in garage, has been driven once or twice in the last year. Brakes need attention. One of the valve covers is leaking a little oil. Button on shifter came out and needs to be put back in. Front and rear bumper need fillers replaced as you can see in pictures, you can buy on ebay for approx. $225 for front and rear. Body overall is good....one paint bubble under the Grand National emblem in the rear. On hood 3.8 emblem is missing one of the numbers on both sides. Body has a few minor scratches nothing major. Air conditioner works when it feels like it, goes on and off, may be low on freon or contacts on switch dirty, don't really know.

Engine runs fine, probably needs battery. Tires are in excellent shape, rims are in good shape. Headliner and interior in very very good shape. Also have new floor mats for it, still in package. Also have service manuals for car.

Just the other day, we told you about how Lincoln isn't really a luxury brand, according to Ford's head design man, J Mays. His argument was that Lincoln lacked the unique DNA to differentiate it from the rest of the market, although the arrival of the MKZ is beginning to change that. Now, we have this video from Autoline Detroit, where Jim Hall, an analyst for 2953 Analytics who was quoted in yesterday's Lincoln story, explains the influence of certain styling cues and how they impact the brands.
Using BMW (Angel Eyes) and Buick (Ventiports) as examples for small, simple touches that serve to distinguish the brand's vehicles on the road, Hall then points out how changing trademark styling features, as Chevrolet has done on the new Corvette Stingray, can hurt the vehicle's public perception. GM China President says automaker could export vehicles from China to US

At a press conference on Saturday at the Shanghai Motor Show, General Motors announced plans to further expand its presence in the Chinese market. Among those commitments are plans to build four new plants by the end of 2015, giving the automaker the capacity to produce around five million vehicles a year in the country.
In order to make the most of that expansion, GM is adding 400 dealerships in China this year alone (for a total of 4,200 sales points), and it's eyeing 5,100 dealers by 2015. Yet not all of that production will stay in China - GM is planning to increase exports as well. Officials estimate the company will export somewhere between 100,000 and 130,000 Chinese-built vehicles this year - a record. And it's gunning for more.
