Port Byron, Illinois, United States

You are looking at a super clean survivor which has sat in a storage warehouse since 1982. This car has no rust under the car. Floors and trunk are 100% solid. The body is very straight as shown in the pictures. Car is all original besides the wheels and tires (the original wheels and center caps are included) and the carb. and air cleaner. (the originals are also included with the sale). Numbers matching engine/transmission and rear end. Even the original brakes and shocks! This only has 23,362 miles. The spark plug wires and spark plugs were replaced recently. The engine runs very nice and is smooth, quiet and does not smoke at all. Transmission shifts like new.

Exterior:

Looks like the rear quarter on the drivers side has been sprayed at some point. I cannot verify if the whole has been painted or what but please look at the photos I walked over the whole car and tried to really find any paint imperfections. All the trim is in great shape minus the one ding on the passengers "A" pillar. Bumper chrome on front is great, rear bumper is solid but passengers outside 1/3 piece has rust as shown. The only rust I can find on the exterior is the 2 lower rear door corners on the inside of the door sheet metal seam.

Interior:

Seats are in excellent condition, dash trim and even headliner are excellent. The rear package shelf has some sun fade but still looks good.

All of the windows work as they should. Turn signals, headlights, windshield wipers etc work!

This is an amazing survivor car and you will be hard pressed to find a better more SOLID original 60's car!

Please let me know if you would like any other pics or additional information.

2014 Buick Regal GS AWD

Thu, 27 Feb 2014

"This is just silly," I said as I laughed my way sideways around the icy track at Circuit ICAR, a racecourse, drag strip and kart track at the Montreal-Mirabel International Airport in Quebec. It wasn't the activity that had me cracking up, though. After all, winter driving experiences aren't uncommon in this business.
No, in this particular case, it was the car that had me chuckling. I wasn't in a mad hot hatch or a rally-derived rocket - I was in a Buick. The 2014 Regal GS, to be more precise. Somehow, despite its recent product renaissance (not to mention its distant - yet storied - history of performance models), I was having a hard time believing that this attractive, turbocharged, all-wheel-drive sedan sliding around the Great White North could possibly be wearing a Tri-Shield badge on its nose.
But it was, and slide about it did. While having access to a vehicle in this setting is fairly rare, what's rarer is the fact that I've had so much exposure to it. In Mr. Ewing's recent Volkswagen Golf R drive story, for instance, his ice capades were his first experience with the new model. In my case, though, I was lucky enough to first test the refreshed Regal GS for a week back in December before flying to Quebec to drive it on the snowy, icy, winding roads of Canada's most fiercely independent province and on the track at Mirabel.

Cadillac, Buick and Chevy decisions impacted by worries abroad

European Concerns Drive GM, But Beware Of The French Connection
GM's bid to rationalize Europe will impact the products that will be offered domestically.
It seems that Europe is defining the future of General Motors more so than its home North American market. Having axed Saturn, Pontiac and Hummer, GM has done a fairly good job of repositioning its remaining four divisions, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC. Cadillac carries the luxury banner. Chevrolet is aimed at the masses with cars and trucks along with a nod to performance thanks to Camaro and Corvette. Buick bridges the premium gap between Chevy and Cadillac, while GMC offers a hardcore work/upscale proposition.

J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998

Wed, 12 Feb 2014

For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
