Along with the Corvette split-window coupe, I think everyone on earth could agree that this was the best-looking car of 1963. We won't wax rhapsodic about the beauty of Bill Mitchell's Riviera design except to say that it has withstood the test of time and still looks like a million bucks Buick's legendary 401 cubic inch Nailhead V8 made 325 horsepower in the '63 Riviera, and with seemingly endless reserves of torque, it is a lot quicker than you'd think The Riviera's interior was a styling tour-de-force, with bucket seats and a sweeping, low-profile dash trimmed in brushed metal instead of fake wood. The two-tone seats in this car really set the interior off. Straight solid car, body poannels fit well, floor pans and trunk are solid, 17 inch Boyd Coddington wheels with newer tires, engine runs strong Car was lowered by installing new springs and shocks, Seats were just completeed with great black and gray two tone. headliner, dash pad and package tray all in VG condition. Car was painted in 2000 shines well with some minor defects makes a great cruise night car. All glass is in great condition. Bob Seger's Detroit Made music video is an homage to the Motor City
Tue, 16 Sep 2014At this point, Bob Seger feels like the living embodiment of old-school rock 'n' roll. The Michigan native has been strumming out classic records like Night Moves for decades, and he just released a new single called Detroit Made. It sounds like a future staple of just about every classic car show within the next few years, and the video is dedicated to the Motor City, past and future.
Detroit Made is all about cruising in the city in a classic Buick Electra 225, perhaps better known as a "deuce and a quarter." It's straight-down-the-middle rock and could just as easily be from a decades-old Seger album as something new.
The video for the new single mixes shots of American classics cruising along Woodward Avenue with a contemporary look at the city. Sure, there are the well-known dilapidated buildings falling into rubble, but the people there aren't just letting the city die. Other parts show the attempts to clean things up and rebuild. GM recalls 500K Chevy Camaros for ignition-switch defect
Fri, 13 Jun 2014General Motors issued a recall for more than a half million Chevrolet Camaros on Friday morning because of an ignition-switch safety hazard that mirrors the one at the center of the company's current crisis.
The problem affects Camaro models from the 2010 to 2014 model years. Approximately 464,712 cars are impacted in the United States, and 511,528 overall in North America. GM will alter the Camaro key to a more standard design, and will notify car owners with a recall notice in the mail.
In an announcement, the company said the ignition switches on the Camaros are fundamentally different parts than the older ignition switches found on defective cars that are responsible for killing at least 13 people and causing 54 crashes.
Next Buick Regal to inherit styling cues from Opel Monza concept
Mon, 06 Oct 2014Ever look at a concept car from a foreign auto marque like Opel and wonder what relevance it will have to you as an American consumer? Well, we'll tell you: at least as far as the Opel Monza concept goes, it could mean a lot.
Speaking with Automotive News at the Paris Motor Show, Opel chief Karl-Thomas Neumann said, "You will see the Monza when you see the next Insignia." And the Insignia, we needn't point out, is essentially ported over to American showrooms as the Buick Regal.
The relationship between the Regal and Insignia only stands to grow closer as Opel design chief Mark Adams has also been charged with tightening the bonds between the two automakers positioned on opposite shores of the Atlantic. Adams also intends to imbue the next Insignia with more "premium brand values" in order to "add polish to the brand." Which in turn means that the Regal will be designed to look more upscale, too.
