I am selling my very original 1966 Buick Riviera GS. I have been around Buick Rivieras for over 40 years. My website is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the early Rivieras.  www.RanchoRiviera.8m.com

I bought this car from the dry Southern California Los Angeles area.  It's an original black plate CA car.  What I liked about it is the perfect interior and console shifter.  It also have two rechromed bumpers and if you know this year, the bumpers are VERY expensive.  The bumpers alone on this car would cost $2000. Great restoration candidate. This car has near perfect interior. the dash has a crack in it and the rest is impeccable .
The motor is blown but the block is in the car as well as the tranny, the body is just about ready for primer, straight body. Has rally wheels.  Most of the frt end parts were also rechromed. Everything works in the car. all glass is good, head light motor works.

Have to sell do to health problems. I doubt you could ever find a better restoration candidate out there on a 66 GS.

I've been a tech advisor in the Riviera club for many years. Call me Larry with any questions. 951-452-7174.

Car is in AZ been in storage for a year undercover. No title as its been lost.

Call me with questions or serious offers.  Thanks, Larry.

Buick shows US dealers 2016 Cascada convertible

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

The affordable four-seat convertible has become a largely forgotten genre in the States, especially with the death of the Chrysler 200 Convertible. Of course, there are still premium options from Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz - not to mention more overtly performance-oriented droptop pony cars from Chevrolet and Ford - but if you want an affordable cruiser, you're kind of out of luck. That may be about to change, however, with renewed rumors of the Opel Cascada (pictured above) making it across the Atlantic wearing a Buick badge.
According to GM Inside News, Buick showed off the Cascada to US dealers last week, with renewed word that the company plans to bring it over from Europe for the 2016 model year. The US version will reportedly be practically identical to its German cousin in terms of styling, but the powertrain underneath is less certain. According to GMI, it may use the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that is available in Europe with either 168 horsepower or 197 hp.
The Cascada rides on GM's Delta II platform, which also underpins the Verano, and the latest rumor certainly provides even more evidence that the convertible is probably on the way. Speculation about the droptop started when GM CEO Dan Akerson said last year that the car was on his wish list to bring over. Then, the US trademark on the name was reserved earlier this year, and the release was speculated for sometime in early 2016.

Buick might be getting a logo makeover

Fri, 23 Nov 2012

General Motors has finished off an extensive model overhaul for its Buick division, but along with its updated cars, the brand might also be getting a new logo. According to the Detroit Free Press, GM North America President Mark Reuss indicated that the Buick tri-shield logo could be getting a makeover, but offered no further information.
It is unlikely Buick will completely redesign or replace its current logo, but the article seems to indicate that it might return to color; although all chrome now, the logo used to feature red, white and blue shields. Head on over to the Detroit Free Press article to look at some past Buick logos including one from 1904.

Cadillac, Buick and Chevy decisions impacted by worries abroad

European Concerns Drive GM, But Beware Of The French Connection
GM's bid to rationalize Europe will impact the products that will be offered domestically.
It seems that Europe is defining the future of General Motors more so than its home North American market. Having axed Saturn, Pontiac and Hummer, GM has done a fairly good job of repositioning its remaining four divisions, Cadillac, Chevrolet, Buick and GMC. Cadillac carries the luxury banner. Chevrolet is aimed at the masses with cars and trucks along with a nod to performance thanks to Camaro and Corvette. Buick bridges the premium gap between Chevy and Cadillac, while GMC offers a hardcore work/upscale proposition.
