Beautiful 1983 Riviera Convertible - Rare paint color on a rare car - Very nice condition and ready to drive anywhere

  • Firemist Red paint - This car was available in White or Red - this is the rarer Red. Out of approximately 1500 '83s, only about 300 were red. High Quality respray in 2007
  • Very Nice Red Interior - original dash, carpets, mats and door panels. Seats were reupholstered when the car was painted in 2007
  • New white Top in 2007
  • 43,000 miles showing on odometer - This was represented to me as original mileage when I purchased it last year and it the condition is representative of such a low mile car
  • I replaced the original cooling hoses, ignition parts, plugs, etc and overhauled the carburetor and it had never been apart - all the items were factory.
  • Many new items in the last year, including:
  • Carb overhaul, plugs, wires, cap and rotor
  • All fluids and filters, including transmission.
  • new engine and transmission mounts
  • Replaced factory original single exhaust with custom magnaflow exhaust with dual outlets and hi flow cat
  • A/C charged and converted to R134
  • New hydraulic lines for convertible top
** I forgot to add - I replaced the rear bumper fillers since I last listed so they are now perfect!

This car is being sold to finance college expenses, so it really needs to go. I will sell for any reasonable offer and am willing to sacrifice. I have invested $2000 since purchase last year to make it the best Riviera on the market!

By the way, this is the third listing - both previous "buyers" flaked out, so if you want it, bid on it, if you are just playing around on Ebay, please bid on someone else's car. I have a deposit requirement and if it is not met, I will relist immediately this go-round and report as a non-paying bidder.

Buick to add more GS models?

Fri, 29 Nov 2013

Buick may not be the first name that comes to mind when you think of performance automobiles, but fans of the brand know what letters to look for. If you believe the reports, there's a new GNX and Grand National on the way, but in the meantime, Buick may offer more GS models to fill the void.
Currently, the Regal is the only model available as a GS (pictured above), packing the same 259-horsepower turbo four as the Regal Turbo but enhanced with key suspension, brakes and rolling-stock upgrades. As Car and Driver notes, similar upgrades could easily be applied to the Verano and LaCrosse, although maybe not the Encore or Enclave crossovers. Of course, Buick would still have to steer clear of Cadillac's Vsport line, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have a little room to play.

Buick shows US dealers 2016 Cascada convertible

Wed, 20 Aug 2014

The affordable four-seat convertible has become a largely forgotten genre in the States, especially with the death of the Chrysler 200 Convertible. Of course, there are still premium options from Audi, BMW and Mercedes-Benz - not to mention more overtly performance-oriented droptop pony cars from Chevrolet and Ford - but if you want an affordable cruiser, you're kind of out of luck. That may be about to change, however, with renewed rumors of the Opel Cascada (pictured above) making it across the Atlantic wearing a Buick badge.
According to GM Inside News, Buick showed off the Cascada to US dealers last week, with renewed word that the company plans to bring it over from Europe for the 2016 model year. The US version will reportedly be practically identical to its German cousin in terms of styling, but the powertrain underneath is less certain. According to GMI, it may use the 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that is available in Europe with either 168 horsepower or 197 hp.
The Cascada rides on GM's Delta II platform, which also underpins the Verano, and the latest rumor certainly provides even more evidence that the convertible is probably on the way. Speculation about the droptop started when GM CEO Dan Akerson said last year that the car was on his wish list to bring over. Then, the US trademark on the name was reserved earlier this year, and the release was speculated for sometime in early 2016.

2013 Buick Encore

Wed, 14 Aug 2013

Ignored On Arrival, But Coming On Strong
An image exists out there that perfectly conveys the fate we thought would befall the Buick Encore after its world debut at the 2012 Detroit Auto Show. The shot shows the just-unveiled Encore on stage, basking in the glow of spotlights but surrounded by a large display area that's bereft of both cars and people. Two journalists are sitting on a couch over to the side, both facing the Encore but ignoring it as they inspect their swag, and a solitary custodial engineer pushes a vacuum back and forth across a sea of gray carpet.
Like a kid with his birthday cake at a party no one came to, this little crossover's debut was largely, almost cruelly, ignored. Who can blame us, though? Two shows ago, the Motor City's main stage welcomed the redesigned Aston Martin-esque Ford Fusion, the 3 Series-assassin ATS from Cadillac and the return of Dodge to the small car game with the Dart. A fourth model for the wayward Buick brand, especially one so arguably un-Buick in form and function, did not seem to deserve the attention paid to its peers that year.
