This is a very nice car the closer you get to it the better it looks the paint is camelot rose and is stunning, the car is a very nice driving , she has the 215 aluminum engine very light weigh and very powerful. The interior is all new with seatbelts added for saftey. The engine is very clean and does not burn oil or smoke the transmission shifts nice an smooth. Has new shocks on back, new muffler, the steering gear box has been just rebuilt, new engine mounts and new head lights. The tires are new and are period correct with whitewalls . It does need a few things, the light bulbs need put back in dash , radio needs hooked up ( never got around to hooking them up) The car is a joy to drive every where I go people stop and look at it the car its just such a good looking car. I have seen other 1962 skylarks on ebay and they don't come close to this one. So if you are looking for a car to go to shows or take a ride on route 66 this would be it . Look at the pictures and ask questions and good luck. Now for the mumbo jumbo stuff . The car is for sale local and I have the right to end auction early, the car is 52 years old so no warrenty is given. |

Bob Seger's Detroit Made music video is an homage to the Motor City
Tue, 16 Sep 2014At this point, Bob Seger feels like the living embodiment of old-school rock 'n' roll. The Michigan native has been strumming out classic records like Night Moves for decades, and he just released a new single called Detroit Made. It sounds like a future staple of just about every classic car show within the next few years, and the video is dedicated to the Motor City, past and future.
Detroit Made is all about cruising in the city in a classic Buick Electra 225, perhaps better known as a "deuce and a quarter." It's straight-down-the-middle rock and could just as easily be from a decades-old Seger album as something new.
The video for the new single mixes shots of American classics cruising along Woodward Avenue with a contemporary look at the city. Sure, there are the well-known dilapidated buildings falling into rubble, but the people there aren't just letting the city die. Other parts show the attempts to clean things up and rebuild. Check out the video if you need a few minutes of old school rockin' in your life.
General Motors shaking up its marketing... again
Wed, 13 Mar 2013One of the things that dogs the full comeback of General Motors is the instability of its marketing. That part of the automaker got yet another big shakeup today when GM confirmed what I have been tweeting for a few days - strong rumors that the Chevrolet and Cadillac ad accounts are walking to new ad agencies.
Cadillac, GM's luxury brand, is going into review from Fallon Worldwide, Minneapolis and the indications are that Campbell-Ewald, Chevy's old ad shop, will end up with most or all of it. C-E just announced that it was moving from its long-time home in Warren, MI to a new downtown Detroit office next to Ford Field, just blocks from GM.
The other shoe to drop shortly will be the shift of GM's most important brand, Chevy, from Goodby, Silverstein & Partners of San Francisco to McCann-Erickson of Troy, MI. McCann used to be the agency for Buick and GMC, as well as GM's corporate advertising, and has retained some pieces of business over the last few years. Sources have even told us that it was McCann that did a lot of the creative work on Chevy's new ad platform, Find New Roads. (Not to be confused with a former McCann tagline for Saab, "Find Your Own Road.")
Buick might be getting a logo makeover
Fri, 23 Nov 2012General Motors has finished off an extensive model overhaul for its Buick division, but along with its updated cars, the brand might also be getting a new logo. According to the Detroit Free Press, GM North America President Mark Reuss indicated that the Buick tri-shield logo could be getting a makeover, but offered no further information.
It is unlikely Buick will completely redesign or replace its current logo, but the article seems to indicate that it might return to color; although all chrome now, the logo used to feature red, white and blue shields.
