 1965 Buick Skylark
Sad to say I have to sell my 1965 Buick Skylark in order to buy a house. I started this car three years ago and have over $43,000 into this car. It was a frame on restoration.
1965 Buick Skylark with a new Chevy 454 complete Roller motor with Demon 950 carb and dyno'd at 426 to rear wheels. Cam is a custom grind by Lumanati and car has a mean sound to it. Trans is a TH400 just rebuilt with shift kit. Custom cut driveshaft.  Car has power steering and heat. Radiator is 3 weeks old by Griffon with built in dual electric fans and just paid $1476 for this set up. Gas tank was replaced along with sending unit. Painless Wiring harness throughout the car. Car is lowered 2" with lowering springs and air bags in rear and lowering springs and drop spindles in the front. Front has tubular upper and lower control arms along with power disc brake conversion. The interior is all brand new as of this season. Car  was painted Candy Gold this past year and there is no rot or rust in this car. Over winter I put in an Eaton Posi traction rear end with 3:73 gears and B&M ratchet shifter. Wheels and tires are Boss 18" and are only 6 months old. Front fenders were rolled so it would not rub. Exhaust is all new headers 2 years ago and header back is last year with two dual chamber Flomasters. Just added electric cutouts 2 months ago for $750 for that open header sound when pulling into the car shows. I have a 4" thick folder of receipts and warranties that come with the car. I know I'm forgetting all sorts of things but this is a very nice car for a fraction of the money. Front and rear bumpers were just rechromed. Have a bunch of spare parts that go with the car too. Have any questions ask away. Motivated Seller. Make offers

Lutz dishes dirt on GM in latest Autoline Detroit

Bob Lutz sits down for Autoline Detroit - Click above to watch video after the jump
Autoline Detroit recently played host to Bob Lutz, and, as is always the case, the former General Motors vice chairman dished out some great commentary. Lutz was promoting his new book Car Guys vs. Bean Counters: The Battle for the Soul of American Business, and talk quickly turned to his role as it related to product development and high-level decision making at GM. While on the topic of brand management, Lutz revealed a few rather interesting tidbits about his former employer:
All Chevrolet vehicles were required to have five-spoke aluminum wheels and a chrome band up front, as part of the Bowtie brand's overall image.

J.D. Power customer survey of dealers counts Cadillac, Buick as big winners

Mon, 14 Apr 2014

Cadillac and Buick have taken the trophies in J.D. Power's latest Customer Service Index Study examining satisfaction with dealer service. Surveying more than 90,000 owners and lessees of 2009-2013 model-year cars, the study found that those with pre-paid maintenance packages were ten percent more likely to buy their next car from the same brand.
Dealer satisfaction scores have improved overall, Cadillac nabbed the luxury segment ahead of Audi and Lexus, taking the crown that Lexus held last year. Buick keeps the mass-market dealer satisfaction win in the family, finishing ahead of Volkswagen and last year's winner GMC. The study also found that service department use of tablets increased customer satisfaction, as did "best practices" like "providing helpful advice." Who knew?
You can find details on those and more findings in the press release below.

2014 Buick LaCrosse updated with new styling, tech

Mon, 25 Mar 2013

Buick might have one of the smallest lineups among major automakers, but by the time the 2014 model rolls around, it will definitely have one of the freshest. Debuting at the New York Auto Show this week, the 2014 Buick LaCrosse receives numerous styling changes inside and out, and it benefits from many of the same new features found on closely related models like the Cadillac XTS and the 2014 Chevrolet Impala.
Exterior changes are relatively minor, but they still help give the car a fresh, new look. The new face of the 2014 LaCrosse fits in with recently new or redesigned Buick models with its oversized waterfall grille, LED-trimmed headlights and the signature hood vents being moved to the side of the hood rather than the top. Similar changes have been made to the rear, like the reshaped LED taillights, the full-width chrome trim and a new fascia design; LaCrosse models equipped with the 3.6-liter V6 will still get the integrated exhaust finishers but they're executed in a more stylish manner than the current model. Finishing off the exterior, new wheel designs are also being introduced, which will include bringing 20-inch wheels to the sedan's option list.
Inside, Buick redesigned almost the entire cabin to create a more luxurious and upscale appearance. The instrument panel is essentially carried over, but pretty much everything else has been redesigned and updated with the biggest change being to the driver's area. Dual eight-inch configurable displays make up the center stack and gauge cluster, while the overall number of buttons have been reduced from 17 down to just seven. The 2014 LaCrosse will also be offered with the next-generation IntelliLink, which receives many of the same enhancements as Chevy's latest version of MyLink adding better customization, improved voice commands and more features including Pandora. Additionally, new door panels, seat and center console complete the LaCrosse's interior redesign.
