I work in the movie industry and purchased this car from a movie titled "BlackWaterTransit". The vehicle was featured in the film and driven by the lead actor Karl Urban. I have enjoyed the car for years and now it is time for something new. It is a 42 year old vehicle that I drive currently, so listing each and everything good or bad with the car would be too much for this post. What someone needs to know is the car runs great (sounds awesome), I had the engine rebuilt about 3000 miles ago (small cam installed), the hood is fiberglass, it has no major mechanical issues and you could drive it home even cross country if you like that sort of thing. It is important to note that the car was a "driver" for me. Certainly not a full or partial resto. In fact, I have done nothing but maintenance and the occasional repair since I bought it. If you are looking for a great car to have fun in that gets a ton of looks but wont kill you wallet.... here it is complete with a cool back story. I encourage any serious buyers to call and discuss with me all the fine details before purchase and we can cover everything (1.917.855.5174). Most of the pictures show any areas of concern like the rusty trunk (water leaked in the back window trim...common...and stayed there). Also, the vehicle has a clean title listed as GS but I believe it is a clone so my reserve reflects that. lastly, the vehicle is a southern car with no rust except in the trunk and around the rear glass.

Buick Riviera Concept hits the floor in Shanghai
Sat, 20 Apr 2013Here we have a concept in the true sense of the term. The Buick Riviera you see here - the name of which was last used in production back in 1999 - is said to preview Buick's future styling direction, which means we should expect to see more flowing body shapes to go along with new versions of the marque's classic waterfall grille design. Oh, and we don't believe there's a single porthole in sight.
Powered by Buick's so-called dual-mode wireless plug-in hybrid electric vehicle propulsion system (we'll stick with the W-PHEV acronym) that allows the car to be charged wirelessly just by driving atop a special charging mat on the ground, the car's powertrain is just as futuristic as its exterior shape.
Other high-tech bits include holographic projections on the windshield showing the driver what's around him, with input coming from 10 high-res cameras and 18 micro high-precision sensors. The car also sports 4G wireless connectivity so that its occupants are always connected.
J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998
Wed, 12 Feb 2014For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
eBay Find of the Day: 1981 DeLorean with 570-hp twin-turbo Buick V6 [w/videos]
Mon, 23 Dec 2013"Are you telling me that you built a time machine... out of a DeLorean?" So asked one Marty McFly of his mentor Dr. Emmett Brown, who replied: "The way I see it, if you're gonna build a time machine into a car, why not do it with some style?"
Doc Brown was right, of course: with an exotic mid-engine layout, gullwing doors and stainless steel body, the DeLorean DMC-12 sure looked the part. It just needed a little more juice. Well this one might not have 1.21 gigawatts of time-bending power - that'd be more than one and a half million horsepower - but it does have more than the 150 hp in the the standard 2.8-liter V6.
That's because this particular DeLorean has had its stock Peugeot Renault Volvo engine swapped out for a Buick-sourced, all-aluminum, 4.3-liter V6 from the Grand National. Dutteiller Performance didn't leave the engine in stock form, either: while they were swapping it out, they added a pair of turbochargers, new pistons, crank, cams and much, much more.
