No Reserve. No zero rated bidders. Deposit is due immediately after the auction ends. For sale is a 1963 Buick Skylark Convertible with the original Aluminum
215 V8 and Dual Path Turbine Drive automatic transmission. Sold new here in San Diego, and this Skylark has lived here ever since. Every panel is original. The chassis, frame, and floors have no
rust. The body is very straight and clean. Interior is all
original and the dash has no cracks, door panels are nice. Even the
carpet is original. The lights, gauges, and interior lights work. Original radio. Seat covers are aged. This was upgraded with
a complete Corvette Disc Brake setup about 10k miles ago! Also
upgraded to 5 lug axles. The carb was just been rebuilt 1/10/14. The
tires are newer Pirelli and they have 90% tread remaining. The glass is
all excellent. The paint is old and has some checking and chips. Only
dent on the whole car is on the trunk lid.
It has been used as a regular driver. No accidents. Clean clear pink California title in hand with current registration through 2014. Starts right up and runs good. Drives good. Has a couple small oil leaks, no other leaks currently. Very complete under the hood and original down to the original glass windshield cleaner bottle. Runs smooth and stays cool. Has the original San Diego dealer emblem on the trunk lid still. The original top is in place and the frame is good. Opens and closes/latches fine. The material has tears and needs to be replaced. Great classic convertible at no reserve. I will accept overseas bids. I took many photographs to show it better than words can describe. Please ask all questions before bidding, I will reply right away and honestly. Thank you, and good luck. |

Buick Riviera Concept debuts in China
Fri, 19 Apr 2013It's nighttime in China, and Buick has just concluded an evening event the day before the first - and only - press day of the Shanghai Motor Show. The star of this evening's party was the Buick Riviera concept vehicle, a plug-in electric hybrid coupe that the automaker says gives a glimpse at its future design direction, not to mention resurrecting some nomenclature from the brand's history that includes a similarly named concept from 2007.
The shape of the Riviera is said to be inspired by water. While the traditional Buick "waterfall" grille is present, the front end gains a more aggressive note thanks to what appear to be vertical air inlets below each headlight.
As for the concept's drivetrain, Buick says it uses General Motors' new dual-mode wireless plug-in hybrid electric vehicle propulsion system, or W-PHEV for short. The keyword there is 'wireless,' as the Riviera can charge its onboard battery packs with a traditional cable or wirelessly via a "sensory recharge panel" underneath the car.
2015 Buick Verano offered with six-speed manual after all
Mon, 09 Jun 2014Good news, boys and girls (well, at least those of you who still like shifting for yourselves). Buick got in touch with us to correct some information that it had mistakenly announced; namely, that the 2015 Verano will lose its optional six-speed manual transmission. Apparently, that announcement was incorrect, and the compact sedan will indeed continue to offer a manual option for 2015, despite what we're certain is a low take rate. Additionally, the Desert Dusk Metallic paint that was said to come as part of an Appearance Package is no longer part of the deal. With that out of the way, we now return you to your regularly scheduled automotive-obsessive broadcast...
OnStar RemoteLink mobile app coming standard on all new GM vehicles
Thu, 06 Jun 2013As an evolution and improvement of its OnStar technology, General Motors has announced that it will be expanding the RemoteLink Mobile App on most 2014 model year Chevrolet, Buick, GMC and Cadillac vehicles. The new, aptly named RemoteLink Key Fob Services will allow users to remotely operate all of the same systems as the car's key fob, including locking and unlocking the doors and remote starting (on vehicles equipped with a factory remote starter) using a smartphone.
These Key Fob Services will be free for five years - starting from the vehicle's delivery date - but the full suite of RemoteLink features will continue to be offered only with a subscription (trial or paid). These premium features include contacting a live adviser, getting turn-by-turn directions and remotely monitoring the vehicle's diagnostic systems.
