I won't go into all the fluff other postings have about the 1993 Allante, if you've read one you've read them all.
In addition to this, not a scratch, dent, chip or ding. Premium Bose symphonic speaker system, but a great speaker system in a convertible, well, you know. The previous owner put new Michelins on the aluminum wheels. I replaced them with the Vogues 1-1/4" width whitewall and chrome wheels. If you can, you should take these almost new tires. I also have one extra matching Vogue tire, gold ring. It is really Yellow but saying "Gold" sounds so much more classier. The A/C has been converted from the old R12 to the new R134 system. Keep that in mind if you are buying any older car. Most (including me) did not think of it until I went in for a recharge, and then "SURPRISE". The CD will not give the disc back, but the car comes with a new still in the box Alpine 6-disc changer. The right side tailight lense has a small acceptable crack, see photo....the left side curve of the right lense by the license plate. I also have another less acceptable cracked left tail light lense, which for what these costs (even cracked ones) I can't bring myself to throw away after I replaced it. I am told it can be repaired, but I don't know how to get to the inside and separate the plastic lense from the housing. Dash pad, Windblocker, fitted full car cover, extra chrome trim, chrome lower rocker panels, manuals, extra keys. No Tag, Title, Registration and document fees. No oil or any other kind of leakage. I live in the extreme lower SE corner of Missouri. $500 deposit into my Pay Pal account, 50% refundable within 10 days of deposit for any or no reason. The car is not insured, you must show ID and proof of your current insurance if you will be driving it off. The car is in private storage, so if you want to see it, buy it and drive it off on a weekend, let me know by 3pm Friday. I don't know exactly what to do about the license plates, as in Missouri the seller keeps the plates. I don't want to sell the car but I want to beef up my bucket list account and already have too many cars for one person. 2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe
Thu, 30 Oct 2014Cadillac has become a very, very different company since the dawn of the new millenium. Its turn-of-the-century lineup, consisting of staid offerings like the Seville, DeVille and Eldorado, represented the Old Cadillac. These cars were plagued with Old GM quality issues and catered to a more elderly audience. Since the company's Art and Science design language arrived, though, we've seen Cadillac flesh out its lineup in a big way, introducing notable and (so far) enduring products, like the the CTS, SRX and most recently, the ATS.
With the CTS tackling the 5 Series segment and the SRX duking it out with the Lexus RX and its classmates, the ATS has been left with the tough task of battling the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, among others. Critically, at least, it has excelled in this role, but it's still working on finding its feet sales-wise. On paper, broadening the model range by adding a two-door personal luxury coupe could help.
After a week with the ATS Coupe, though, we've found a car that, while retaining the standard model's excellent driving character, doesn't quite offer enough visual excitement to stand up to other cars in its segment.
GM issues four new recalls, 2.4 million cars affected
Tue, 20 May 2014General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.
Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:
1,339,355 - Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia models from the 2009 to 2014 model years; Saturn Outlook models from the 2009 to 2010 model years
Cadillac's de Nysschen won't budge on raised pricing
Thu, 18 Sep 2014According to new Cadillac boss Johan de Nysschen, it will take between 10 and 15 years to elevate GM's top brand, which was once hailed as "The Standard Of The World," back to prominence in the minds of American customers. And to hear the executive talk of it, the brand is going to have to be willing to see sales falter in the near-term before they recover:
"Either you have to bring your volume aspirations into alignment with reality and accept that you will sell fewer cars... Or you have to drop the price and continue to transact at the prices where you were historically... I think the logical conclusion is that it's better to build off a very solid base in terms of [product] credibility, charge a fair price for the car and realize you have to wait until the volume comes."
In other words, sales will fall before they rise, and the brand has to be okay with that. Notice, too, that de Nysschen speaks of "a fair price" for Cadillac cars and utility vehicles. In this case, "fair" means more than many of the brand's traditional buyers are accustomed to, and roughly in line with the brands and machines Cadillac believes it is competing against. For instance, the newly enlarged 2014 CTS carries a suggested retail price that is over $6,000 higher than it was in 2013, and some trim levels boast an even higher price premium over the models they replace.
