Thank you for viewing this very nice 1993 Cadillac Allante'. Finished in red with black leather this soft top convertible is ready to be enjoyed for those summer rides to the beach or lake.
Originally designed under the code name "Callisto", the Allant'e competed with the Mercedes-Benz SL and Jaguar XJS. and is Cadillac's most infamous attempt at a 2 seated roadster. The body of the Allant'e was designed and built in Italy by Pininfarina. The completed bodies were shipped 4,600 miles from Italy in specially equipped Boeing 747s, 56 at a time, to Cadillac's Detroit/Hamtramck Assembly plant. The bodies were then mated to the chassis in what has been described as the longest assembly line in automotive history.
This Allante' is loaded with all the options including power windows, locks, steering, brakes, cruise, 8 way power driver seat with memory and 8 way passenger seat, intermittent wipers, A/C, GM Delco Premium Symphony Sound System AM/FM/Tape with trunk mounted CD player and satellite radio.
This car has been driven 177,000 miles and has plenty of life left in the popular, powerful 4.6 L Northstar DOHC V8 that produces 295 HP! This convertible runs and drives excellent thanks to the road sensing suspension with active damper management and disc brakes and varible-assist power. The 4.6L Northstar is notorious for an engine oil leak at the oil pan to lower crankcase attaching bolts and this car is no exception. Not a real problem, but does require a drop cloth under the vehicle to keep garage floor clean.
As you will notice this Allante' has a few blemishes which is typical for the age.

2015 Cadillac ATS Coupe
Thu, 30 Oct 2014Cadillac has become a very, very different company since the dawn of the new millenium. Its turn-of-the-century lineup, consisting of staid offerings like the Seville, DeVille and Eldorado, represented the Old Cadillac. These cars were plagued with Old GM quality issues and catered to a more elderly audience. Since the company's Art and Science design language arrived, though, we've seen Cadillac flesh out its lineup in a big way, introducing notable and (so far) enduring products, like the the CTS, SRX and most recently, the ATS.
With the CTS tackling the 5 Series segment and the SRX duking it out with the Lexus RX and its classmates, the ATS has been left with the tough task of battling the BMW 3 Series, Audi A4 and Mercedes-Benz C-Class, among others. Critically, at least, it has excelled in this role, but it's still working on finding its feet sales-wise. On paper, broadening the model range by adding a two-door personal luxury coupe could help.
After a week with the ATS Coupe, though, we've found a car that, while retaining the standard model's excellent driving character, doesn't quite offer enough visual excitement to stand up to other cars in its segment.
Autoweek divulges details on Presidential limo
Tue, 22 Oct 2013Ever since the latest presidential limousine, also known as The Beast, debuted in 2009, we've wondered what's underneath that black Cadillac body. We already know a few details, like the fact it isn't a Cadillac at all, but a very heavy duty truck chassis from General Motors with a body that resembles a super-sized Caddy. Autoweek, however, has managed to extract new details from veteran Secret Service agents about the closely guarded presidential limo. Their methods, of course, are classified.
Designed to be a rolling office, bunker and escape pod all in one, the current presidential limo is far different from previous presidential state cars, which were heavily modified production vehicles. As we would expect, The Beast uses thick, military-grade body armor (eight inches on the doors), an armored fuel tank, special run-flat tires with Kevlar lining, an encrypted satellite phone, a fully sealed cabin with its own oxygen supply and a trunk full of weapons and medical equipment that includes a supply of the President's blood type (in case the car gets cut off from the ambulance that's always present in the President's motorcade).
The Beast also comes with a Halon fire-suppression system, night vision and is powered by a V8 engine, which we already knew runs on gas and not diesel, that returns an EPA-unfriendly estimated 3.7 miles per gallon. The Secret Service operates a fleet of 12 limos and each Beast costs $1.5 million. Lastly, AW estimates that the 18-foot-long state car weighs 15,000 pounds, and each Secret Service agent that drives the car must be specially trained to maneuver such a massive vehicle.
2014 Cadillac ELR is making green sexy in Detroit
Tue, 15 Jan 2013
In terms of styling, inside and out, the ELR hits the ball out of the park.
Cadillac has pulled the wraps off of its newest family member, the long-rumored, Voltec-powered, eye-catching extended range hybrid coupe called the ELR. The car makes use of the same basic architecture as the Chevrolet Volt, but has been thoroughly layered on with design, technology and performance tuning - with the goal of being a properly situated product for the Cadillac brand.
